Scarlett clutched the ledger tightly as they gathered in the small safe-house Elias had led them to. The room was dimly lit, the single flickering bulb above casting long shadows across their weary faces. The air was thick with tension.
Nathan leaned against the table, his face a mixture of exhaustion and anger.
"We can't keep running. If we don't move first, Grayson will find us. It's only a matter of time." Nathan said banging his hand heavily on the table.
Elias nodded, pacing the room.
"I've reached out to a few trusted contacts. They're risking everything to help us, but we need more than allies. We need leverage." He said as he ran a hand through his hair.
Scarlett looked down at the ledger, her mind racing.
"This is leverage," she said quietly.
"But it's not enough. Grayson's reach is too vast. He'll bury any evidence we bring forward unless we cut him off at the source." Scarlett said.
