The choking smell of smoke-filled Scarlett's lungs as she fought to regain consciousness. Distant echoes of shouts and gunfire rang in her ears, disjointed and distant, like a fragmented memory refusing to align. Her vision blurred, the crack of crumbling walls and wreckages taking form as she struggled to focus.
"Scarlett!" Nathan's voice was agitated, cutting through the haze as he appeared by her side. His face was filled with dust and worry, his hands trembling as he touched her cheek.
"I'm okay," she managed to whisper, though the sharp pain in her side told her otherwise.
"We need to move," Elias's voice cut in, his tone urgent as he scanned the already destroyed room.
"Grayson's gone, and his men are regrouping. This isn't over."
Nathan helped Scarlett to her feet, his arm steadying her as they pass through the wreckage. The once-formidable warehouse was now a battlefield, its walls burnt and its floor littered with broken equipment.
