"They are all four star monsters!" Patrick suddenly exclaimed as he looked at the two monsters that were colliding in the battlefield.
He had already recalled the leopard to his side, before taking it back into the beast space. The leopard was injured, and it could not be healed in a short time. For the time being, while the battle was going on, the leopard would have to stay within the beast space, and try as much as possible to recover.
In case it was needed again, it would be summoned out by Patrick, but that was looking unlikely possible.
Upon hearing Patrick's words, everyone was suddenly dumbfounded. None of them had anticipated that the strength of the eagle and the lion had already reached such heights.
Being within this city, the strongest person was none other than Patrick. And he was at the peak stage of the three star rank. But, it had already been several years ever since he reached that level, but had never succeeded in reaching the four star rank.
Of course, just considering how difficult it was for them to be able to reach the two star rank, it was clear that reaching the four star rank was even more difficult, as compared to reaching the three star rank.
And now, they felt relieved, but at the same time, terrified. They were terrified because they understood that with a four star monster attacking the city, they did not have any chance of resisting at all.
Even if they had miraculously managed to deal with the 23 three star monsters, they would definitely find it impossible to be able to deal with the four-star monster.
They felt relieved that the beast tamer who owned the eagle had come to their aid. Otherwise, this city would have definitely been reduced to ruins.
Despite how surprised they all were, they paid attention to the battlefield. They saw that the exchange between the eagle and the lion was extremely fast, with the two star beast tamers barely being capable of catching glimpses of the attacks from the two.
As for the one star beast tamers, they only saw shadows flying left and right, not being capable of following the movements of the two at all.
For those that were capable of observing the situation on the battlefield, they felt relieved. After all, they could clearly tell that the eagle was having an extreme advantage over the lion.
Several more wounds had already been inflicted on the body of the lion, and as time went by, even more wounds kept on being inflicted.
The only thing that puzzled them was the fact that the lion did not seem to be able to feel the pain from the injuries that it had suffered. It was as if the injuries that had been dealt to it did not have any form of impact on its movements at all, as the lion was still moving as it was before.
They could tell that there was something that was completely unusual. William and the others could not help but think, was this how powerful the 4 star monsters were?
They were capable of fighting despite getting injured so severely? As they thought of that, they all hoped that they would be able to reach the four star rank, despite how nearly impossible they knew it was.
It was only Patrick who understood that something was completely unusual about the lion. So, he spoke up.
"That lion, I think it has a skill that is capable of numbing its pain. Otherwise, it would have collapsed by now after suffering all those injuries." Patrick stated.
Even though there was a small frown on his face, it was clear that he was not that much worried at all. During the entire fighting period, the eagle had not suffered even a single injury from the lion.
It was clear that the eagle had a great advantage over the lion, which was an implication that it was definitely at least a single stage above the lion.
Even though he himself was at the peak stage of the three star rank, he could not exactly tell the stages of the four star rank monsters and beasts.
He could tell the general rank, but the exact stage was something that was impossible. And, if it was a monster, or a beast that was at the five star rank or above, it would be impossible for him to be able to exactly tell the level just from the aura that was being detected.
As for the eagle, Patrick found it impossible to be able to tell the level of the eagle just from the aura. Yes, he could feel the strength of the eagle just from the attacks that it was launching, but being able to be sure if it was a rank four monster or higher, it was impossible for him.
About one more minute later, the lion finally fell. It seemed that whatever it was that was supporting it even after suffering such fatal injuries, had finally been used up.
But, as the lion collapsed onto the ground, Patrick and the others could not help but feel that the way that the lion was acting was just like the way that an ordinary puppet would do.
Despite what they were thinking about, they all observed the eagle. The eagle was hovering above the body of the lion, obviously trying to make sure that the lion was dead.
They could see that the eagle was still the same way as it was before the attack, as it had not suffered even a single injury. They were all wondering just how powerful the eagle was to be able to easily deal with a four-star monster in such a short time.
And while they were wondering about that, the golden light appeared once again. It directly enveloped the body of the lion, before retreating back into the eagle's body.
Patrick finally came back to his senses after the death of the lion, and the golden light. He remembered that they were facing a monster tide, indicating that monsters were not attacking just this part of the city, but instead, the other two sides as well.
Thinking about that, he could not help but feel that he had let down the beast tamers that had gone to the other side in order to protect the city.
Here, with the assistance of the eagle, they had been able to easily deal with the monster tide, even though several beast tamers had ended up suffering, no longer remaining as beast tamers.
"Other than William, the rest of us should head to the other sides and give assistance to the others that are dealing with the monsters. We cannot delay, as the longer we delay, the higher the possibility of a high number of beasts being killed.
We cannot risk the monsters breaking into the city, as you all understand the consequences. Even if it is just for a moment, the monsters are capable of dealing much damage to the city." Patrick suddenly instructed, bringing back the other beast tamers to their senses.
It might be true that the civilians within the city had already been hidden in an underground bunker, but that was not something that could prevent the monsters from reaching them. It would only delay the inevitable.
As long as the monsters broke into the city, they would be able to easily find the civilians, and if they broke into the bunker, they would definitely kill many people with just a single attack.
Thinking about their own families, everyone immediately got ready to charge towards the other parts of the city. None of them was willing to remain alone within this world, without their families.
"Don't worry about that. The situation on the other sides has already been taken care of." Suddenly, Samuel spoke up, making everyone halt, as they looked at him.
"Kid, it doesn't matter if you want to speak, but make sure that you speak something that makes sense, and does not lead to losses that cannot be recouped." One of the two star beast tamers stated, before rushing towards the other side of the city, adjacent to them, without paying much attention to Samuel anymore.
"Do you know what you are saying? I swear that if anything happens to the city, I will count you responsible!" Another beast tamer stated.
"Samuel, what are you saying?" William asked, a little concerned.
From the short time that he had come to know about Samuel, he understood that Samuel was not someone that said some things casually. So, there had to be a reason why he said those words.
Additionally, the appearance of the eagle was something that indicated that there was a possibility that what he had said was actually true.
But before Samuel could say anything, Patrick spoke up. "It is true. I have just received information from the other sides, telling me that they have just completed dealing with the monsters there."
As he said those words, Patrick looked at Samuel, wondering what was going on. After all, he could not understand how Samuel came to know about that, when he did not have anything to communicate with those people on the other side of the city.
Looking at the gazes that he was receiving, full of questions, Samuel did not respond.
And just when someone was about to get impatient, and ask how Samuel knew about it, the eagle that was in the battlefield suddenly flew over. Then, its size reduced to the size of an ordinary bird, half the size of an adult's palm, before landing on Samuel's shoulder.
