Just after Patrick had finished speaking, the group of beast tamers was suddenly attracted by the arrival of someone unexpected.
They all saw that Samuel had come over. And of course, they could recognize him, considering that he was a person who had stood out during the awakening ceremony a few days ago.
Just a few days ago, he had ended up with a golden light coming from the small contract array, and they were not sure about the level of his talent.
Of course, the city Lord felt that it was a pity for the geniuses that had emerged this year. They had only awakened, and the other forces from other cities had not yet arrived, when the monster tied decided to strike.
If they had been given about a month, they would have already been taken away from the city, and they would not have to face the current situation.
The city Lord hoped that the city would survive, and that was the reason why he had not asked for any of the new beast tamers to come and join them on top of the city wall.

Due to that situation, if they were asked to fight, they would just add unnecessary casualties. And of course, if they ended up dying on the battlefield, he would be amongst that would be blamed.
But now, looking at Samuel who was approaching, Patrick could not help but found. He was wondering why Samuel was here in the first place.
He turned and looked at William, only to see that there was a baffled expression on his face as well. It was clear to him that William did not understand the reason why Samuel was here.
Before anyone else could speak, William approached Samuel who had just climbed on top of the city wall and asked with concern clear on his face, "What are you doing here? Don't you know that this place is dangerous? You have to go and stay with the kids. We will try as much as possible to stop the monsters from destroying the city, then give you a chance of getting out."
William was genuinely concerned about Samuel. "Don't worry. I'll be fine. I just came to observe." Samuel said resolutely. He understood that if he said that he was here to fight, William and the others would definitely try to chase him away.
He could simply solve that situation by demonstrating his power, but he did not want to do that. If they wanted to know his current abilities, they would have to observe that on the battlefield.
William hesitated for a moment, before finally nodding. He could see that Samuel was resolute about this. So, he decided against discouraging him. In any case, as long as he was not involved in the battle, he could still retreat.
"Heh! Some kids are delusional. Just because they have become beast tamers, they think that they can fight monsters?" Someone suddenly commented.
Samuel and William both looked towards the direction of the voice, only to see that the person who had spoken was actually a two-star beast tamer. It was easy to tell this guy's power level considering that he was simply flaunting it.
William on the other hand could not help but frown upon hearing the comment from this guy. Even though he knew that what this person was saying was the truth, but he did not want anyone to speak ill of himself, or anyone close to him.

"Ignore him. Just make sure that you don't jump down the wall at all. Just remain here, and observe. If things begin getting out of hand, make sure that you leave the city hall, and join the others in the underground bunker." William instructed, to which Samuel simply nodded.
William felt slightly relieved, as he finally turned his attention back to the situation outside the city.
With four cannons firing at the same time, quite a large number of monsters had been obliterated. But the number of monsters that were attacking could not be handled by the cannons alone.
Moreover, they had noticed that after the monsters had been faced with a situation where they were being blasted by the cannons, they began moving, with others beginning to approach the other sides of the walls of the city.
It was clear that this was a plan to surround the city. But something to be noted was the fact that even though the monsters had begun trying to surround the city, they did not approach the area that had the forest.
Samuel observed the situation, and understood that the cannons would definitely not be able to deal with this large number of monsters. The firepower of the cannons was high, but Samuel believe that this was not something that could be maintained for a long time.
And as expected, even though the cannons kept on firing for over an entire minute, several monsters had already managed to reach the wall. They were trying to attack the wall, in order to break into the city.
But the moment that they tried attacking the wall, finally, several of the one star beast tamers summoned their beasts. The beasts that had been summoned immediately began attacking.
Most of the firepower was focused on the aerial monsters, considering that the cannons could not really deal with them that much, especially after they got to such a close range.
In order to support them to deal with the aerial monsters, the two star beast tamers also took action. With them taking action personally, it was quite easy for them to be able to eliminate the aerial monsters.
As for those below, they were attacked by long range attacks from the monsters that had been summoned by the beast tamers. With attacks from above, the few monsters that had managed to escape the attacks of the cannons were dealt with.

Just after the cannons stopped firing, as if it was a signal, all the one star beast tamers suddenly instructed their beasts to jump down the wall and attack.
There was a certain advantage that the monsters that had been tamed had over ordinary monsters. That was the fact that they could easily deal with monsters of the same level as themselves.
So, even though they were facing a siege of many one star monsters, they were able to hold on. But of course, it was clear that they were straining, considering that the number of monsters that was attacking was quite high.
Several of the one star beast tamers had already moved, going to the other sides of the city in order to deal with the monsters that were attacking from those areas.
Several two star beast tamers had joined them, including the other temporary deputy city Lord other than William.
