Chapter 3 - Scolding

Eram laughed a little while looking around. He had on a nervous grin as his teacher laid into him.

" Really? Why did you wonder off like that?"

He then looked harder and noticed blood covering the clothes Eram wore.

" Why are you bleeding?"

Mr. Longly started to to rub his hair, letting out nervous laughter while looking around. He took a breath, then shrugged.

" Just so you know. I didn't see anything."

He gasped, turned around, refusing to acknowledge the elephant in the room.

After an hour of waiting the police arrived. letting everyone know it was safe to return the police walked around and did a quick survey, leaving as fast as they came.

Everyone staired out the window, gazing at the destruction with huge grins.

Eram smiled while looking at his classmates. He smelt something funny and looked down to see his cursed container still open, stinking up the classroom.

He gagged.

The clock indicated that class would end soon, while Eram started packing his bag. He kept grinning. Like clockwork the day ended with all of the students smiling.

Eram left the classroom, running towards his house, passing multiple restaurants whose food allured him.

Approaching his house, he knocked on the door.

" A moment please."

Said his mom from the inside.

Eram was getting more excited by the moment, he cherished his family more every day that passed. He had been raised his whole life by two loving parents who treated him like a king. Eram was loved.

A creaking of the door and a second later it was opened. His mom stood there in her lower thirties. She had crystal white hair that seemed to glow, with eyes that shown like the moon.

She knelt down and laughed, gazing at the goofy look on her sons face. She enjoyed seeing grin he had on. When she laughed her hair flew around revealing two moon earrings she had on.

Eram yelled out.

" Mom!"

Then hugged her. She smelled like flowers picked strait from heaven causing Eram to smile more.

'This is bliss, I want this forever.'

He had gotten older. His mom and dad taught him how to protect himself. They always told him, when life gets hard just think of them and they will be there for him.

Eram Had been in multiple near death experience but always managed to pull through because of them. He looked at a picture on the counter depicting him and his family together, this was his home.

"Mom, if i get accepted into one of the Grand Academies, will you and dad come to see me?"

She pulled away from him. She stared him in the eyes while holding his shoulders.

"Of course baby, Me and your dad are always here for you."

His mom seeing the look on her son asked.

" So baby how was school? Let me guess you went over to that fight?"

She knew her sone would do something that stupid, so she had to ask. She brushed his hair out of his face, smiling wider.

"You know me too well mom! It was so cool, they were fighting this red thing that looked like it was on fire. It kept doing this."

He stopped talking and started throwing punches in the air to describe what happened.

" And this."

He kept doing goofy karate chops to show how it went down.

" The while the Latch force was fighting this evil being I assisted them and I also might have saved the day!"

" You at least tried to stay safe right?"

Eram then looked guilty, telling his mom everything she needed to know. She shushed him and took him over to the dinner table where she had food prepared for dinner.

Eram smiled at the aroma of orange chicken and fried rice. He started to salivate. Erams slouched in the chair the more he ate, savoring each bite.

There was another knock on the door, which was quickly opened by his mom. Running through the door, his dad appeared.

He had blue hair similar to Eram but his stood up in the air instead of laying down. He sprinted at Eram tackling him out of his chair.

"How is my little guy doing!"

Eram's dad was toothily grinning, laughing all the while messing with his son. He rubbed Eram's head, smiling. Eram's dad then looked at his wife, with a look of admiration towards her.

He cherished his family more than anything. To him the world was his home, house, and place of love and Heresy.

Eram hysterically laughed when his dad started tickling him. He started to cry, almost pissing himself, barely managing to breath out.

" Dad... please... It's orange chicken night and you made me spill some!"

He didn't stop.

Getting up, leaving Eram on the ground in a puddle of happy tears, he cackled. Eram's dad looked towards his wife who was smiling and giggling, happy he made everyone laugh.

Eram restarted his story from the beginning. He went into great detail about the evil thing that died, using many hand gestures to help explain.

"It kept healing, As well as it was able to hold it's own against the Latch Force!"

Eram wasn't sure if that thing was evil but he had a feeling in the back of his mind that it was something that should die. Eram kept staring off into space , looking at the wall.

Eram wanted to live the fight again to see how cool he looked, but knew that wasn't possible. Eram remembered the feeling and enjoyed it for a second.

After the group was done eating, Eram began asking about the red thing.

He stood up from the table, taking in a deep breath, Eram was full of curiosity that he wanted answered. so he began to describe everything about it.

"I have a question about that thing. It was Red had two horns on the back of its skull, razor sharp teeth, smelled like a rotting corpse, and little to no fear of death. What is that thing?"
