Chapter 30 - Shura Field Between Ex-Wife and Current Wife

"Sylvie, what on earth are you doing!?"

Litia stood in the doorway, staring at the scene before her with wide eyes. Sylvie was there, butt up in the air, clinging to Wu Chen, who was bound to an execution chair. Litia was utterly dumbfounded.

Are elves really this good at playing with men?

Wife! You finally came! I've been waiting for you so long!

Wu Chen felt like crying but had no tears.

He was still agonizing over how to handle the situation where he had used the goddess ring to marry a witch. Now, with Litia's return, she interrupted Sylvie's questioning just in time.

"Sylvie, I know you despise men, but isn't this going a bit too far with my guest?"

Litia crossed her arms, her gaze stern as she looked at Sylvie.

"Your Majesty the Witch, I'm extremely sorry."

Sylvie lowered her head nervously.

"And you! You're so powerful that you could easily defeat Sylvie. Why are you indulging in this nonsense with her?"

Litia waved her hand, releasing a concentrated beam of magical power. Sylvie barely had time to react as the massive destructive force engulfed the execution chair where Wu Chen was bound.

"Wu Chen—!!!"

"Witch, I'm going to fight you to the dea—"

"Sylvie, don't be impulsive! I'm fine!"

Sylvie, with a look of despair, was about to turn her full fury on Litia, but before her magic could fully materialize, Wu Chen emerged from the dust, holding Sylvie's small hand.

"Huh? Wu Chen? You... you weren't vaporized by the witch's attack?"

Sylvie stared, stunned.

That was a blow from a witch. Even a casual attack could turn most human lords to dust.

Wu Chen survived that attack?

"See? This guy has that kind of strength. It's only because of his good temper that you're still in one piece. Otherwise, with how you've treated him, he'd have pinned you down and span..."

Litia started to lecture but suddenly stopped short.

"Pinned down what?"

Sylvie blinked, looking curious.

"Nothing, nothing."

Litia's face turned slightly red.

That was close—almost let it slip! There's no way her subordinates could ever find out she had been pinned down and spanked by someone!

"Litia, you misunderstood. It wasn't that Sylvie was causing me trouble. She wanted to practice interrogating human males, so she asked me to cooperate."

Wu Chen explained, shooting urgent glances at Sylvie.

Sylvie quickly caught on, giving a subtle nod in understanding.

"Interrogating human males?"

Litia narrowed her eyes.

"Yes, that's right. For demons, humans are so fragile that they might die from a little torture, and no information can be obtained."

"So I'm learning the appropriate methods and intensities for torturing humans."

Sylvie spoke earnestly but was making things up.

"Sylvie!"

Litia's voice rose sharply.

Wu Chen and Silf both straightened up, their expressions serious.

Clearly, such a poor excuse couldn't fool a witch.

Sylvie secretly prepared to sacrifice herself to block Litia, allowing Wu Chen to escape.

"As expected of my subordinate! Well done!"

"Hmph, I should make those slacking demon kings on the third and fourth floors take a good look at this!"

Litia nodded in satisfaction.

"Uh… This is what I should be doing."

Sylvie brushed back her golden hair, her pointed ears twitching slightly. Seeing that she had successfully fooled the witch, she let out a sigh of relief.

"And you, since you said you want to marry me, you should minimize contact with other women, even if it's to help others!"

Litia pouted, looking very jealous.

"Isn't Sylvie your subordinate?"

"That makes it even worse!"

"Litia, are you jealous?"

Wu Chen couldn't help but pinch her fair cheek.

"I'm not jealous! It's just that if there's even the tiniest possibility of marriage in the future, you would be my private property. I absolutely won't agree to share my private possession with anyone else!"

Litia said with a fierce expression, looking very upset.

"What do you mean there's no possibility? Haven't you heard of the concept of sharing a husband?"

"I've never heard of a husband being shared. Stop dreaming."

"Your Majesty, are you really going to marry this man?"

Upon hearing this, Sylvie suddenly felt a darkness before her eyes and a buzzing in her ears, nearly losing her balance.

What's going on?

After waiting so long to find my beloved again, and now I'm told he's going to marry someone else!?

And the other party is the renowned strongest witch. Even if I regained my divine powers, I would never be her match.

"Who said I was going to marry him!? It's not decided yet, we're still in the observation phase."

Litia waved her hand, her face flushed.

"Marry? Observation phase? Litia, you've kept me waiting outside for long enough. Isn't it time to let me in?"

Sylvie wanted to question further, but a lively female voice from outside the room interrupted her.

"Full Moon Witch, you mustn't come in! Stay outside obediently. Otherwise, you know the consequences…"

Litia glanced at the door and spoke anxiously.

"Alright, alright, I'm scared of you. I'll wait outside, but hurry up! Is this how you treat a guest? Really?"

The cheerful and sweet female voice outside the door sounded again.

"Full Moon Witch?"

Wu Chen and Sylvie were both slightly startled by Litia's reference to the voice.

"Tsk, I was out on an errand and happened to run into her. She said she wanted to hold the next witch's tea party at my place, so she came to discuss the arrangements in advance."

The Witch's Tea Party is an event set by the Evil God where witches had to gather regularly to share their strategies for invading the human world and boast about their conquests.

Normally, witches could be as ruthless as they wanted, even killing each other without consequence. But the Evil God mandated that during these tea parties, all infighting must cease.

As the organizer for the next tea party, even Litia couldn't refuse.

"Sylvie, take Wu Chen and go wander around the areas outside the palace. Just avoid running into any other witches. Hurry up and leave!"

"I'll contact you when it's safe to return! Don't come back until you hear from me!"

Litia's fingers lightly traced in the air, condensing powerful magic at her fingertips and creating a massive, distorted void in the space before them.

Wu Chen is the Envoy of the Mother Goddess, and the one who binds the marriage contract with him can inherit the Mother Goddess's legacy.

Litia didn't intend to let Wu Chen be handed over to another witch.

Without time to think further, Sylvie grabbed Wu Chen's hand and rushed into the distorted void.

When they came to their senses, they found themselves in the wastelands outside the witch's palace.

Wu Chen looked around. The witches' palaces were often built at the collision points between the demon world and this world.

Due to the pressure and collision between the two worlds, this area was barren, with strange rock formations and numerous natural voids that spawned eerie creatures that were neither human nor demon.

In the game, many players would mysteriously die just by walking through this area.

The in-game cause of death was often listed as a string of erased text or glitched code, adding to the area's eerie reputation.

There were even urban legends that claimed players who died here in the game might also die suddenly in real life, leading many to joke that only the most daring investigators would venture here.

"This place isn't safe to stay for long. Where should we go next?"

Wu Chen asked.

"Before we go, I want to ask you one more thing."

Sylvie embraced Wu Chen from behind, her tone strangely cold.

"Litia said you're going to marry her. What's the deal with that?"
