Chapter 55 - Chapter 55

The sun shone warmly through the leaves as Satoru leisurely followed Kakashi and the others through the forest. The mood in the team was relaxed, the tension practically nonexistent.

After all, it was just an S-class mission. Any one of them could probably handle it on their own.

"I was thinking," Satoru suddenly broke the silence, "shouldn't we give our team a name?"

The others glanced at him, curious but quiet.

"How about: Blindfolded Girl Killer Ninja Ultimate Combo Team?" he suggested with a mischievous grin.

Shisui visibly twitched at the absurdity. "That name is… way too much."

"And," he added, glancing at Kakashi and Satoru, "the whole blindfold obsession is just your thing. Itachi and I are normal."

Satoru smirked as Shisui cast a pointed look at him and Kakashi.

Kakashi, unperturbed, chuckled softly. "Am I not normal?"

He adjusted his headband, which covered his Sharingan, and added dryly, "At least I'm not running around blindfolded all the time."

"Little brat," he continued, nodding toward Satoru, "your naming sense is… let's say unique. But I have to admit, the 'Girl Killer' part is spot on for me."

"Huh, are you sure?" Satoru raised an eyebrow, his voice dripping with skepticism.

Really? In a group with me and two Uchiha prodigies, he's calling himself a Girl Killer?

Kakashi caught Satoru's doubtful look and smirked smugly. "Listen, kid, you weren't even born yet when I was the talk of Konoha. Girls practically swooned when they saw me."

Satoru paused for dramatic effect. "So… you were Konoha's flower boy? Makes sense. Hello, Murahana!"

His voice was playful, yet laced with sarcasm so thick it could cut steel.

"Poof!"

"Poof!"

Two stifled laughs broke the silence. Shisui didn't even try to hide his amusement, while Itachi's rare chuckle was quiet but unmistakable.

Kakashi froze, staring at his teammates in exasperation. A tic-tac-toe vein bulged visibly on his forehead.

Really? Is this appropriate?

The team continued on their journey, moving at a leisurely pace that felt more like a stroll through the woods than a mission. By the fifth day, they finally found a trace of Uchiha Tsuki.

Satoru watched Shisui with faint amusement. Despite Shisui's earlier claims about prioritizing the mission above all else, it was clear that his heart wasn't entirely in it.

For someone who insists on being impartial, he's really dragging his feet, Satoru thought, shaking his head.

He also couldn't help but mutter under his breath, "Girl, it took you five whole days to get here? Talk about slow."

Kakashi pulled out a map, analyzing their surroundings. "We're at the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Iron," he said, marking a spot on the map.

"Judging by the trail, she's likely heading here," Kakashi pointed to a location on the map. "The terrain is ideal for an ambush—easy to defend, difficult to attack. If she's planning to escape, it's the best place to set up a fallback."

Satoru interjected with a grin. "Or, hear me out—maybe she's headed to the Land of Hot Springs. Girls love spas, right?"

Three pairs of unimpressed eyes turned toward him.

"Never mind," Satoru said, waving them off. "No sense of humor in this team."

Kakashi rolled up the map and led the way, his focus unwavering. Soon, they began finding more traces of Uchiha Tsuki's movements.

"It looks like we're closing in," Kakashi said, scanning the ground.

Shisui smirked faintly. "She's not exactly the smartest. She can't outrun us."

Satoru pretended to cover his mouth in shock. "Did I just eat dog food?!"

He sighed dramatically, glancing at the sky as if lamenting his fate. "Love in the air and none of it for me…"

Suddenly, something in the distance caught his eye.

"Three-color dango?!" he exclaimed.

Hanging from a tree was a box of dango—the deluxe, limited-edition kind.

"I'm coming for you!" Satoru shouted, bolting forward like a child chasing candy.

The rest of the team stood in stunned silence.

"...Does he not see it's a trap?" Shisui finally asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.

Itachi tilted his head slightly. "Our teammate can't be that foolish… can he?"

Kakashi shrugged nonchalantly. "Maybe he sees it. Maybe he doesn't. But with his abilities, does it really matter?"

The three watched as Satoru dashed headlong toward the bait, seemingly oblivious—or perhaps completely confident in his ability to handle whatever lay ahead.

With Satoru, Kakashi thought, even traps might need to worry about him.
