[Welcome to Dragon Souls' Domain!]

[Reward is being distributed!]

[You have received an SSS Rank Legacy: Dragon Lord Legacy!]

[Right now, you are too young, your legacy will only awaken after 1 year!]

'What?!'

At this moment, Greg was experiencing such an aggressive cacophony of emotions and revelations that he didn't know which one to focus on first.

'First, how am I a baby?

'What the hell is going on?'

'Second, an SSS-Ranked legacy?! What the f*ck!'

'What the actual f*ck is going on?!'

Greg was not just a 35-years old middle-aged man, but as one of the very first founding players of Dragon Souls, he was a veteran with a lot of knowledge.

Despite his character being one of the most popular and strongest in the game, Greg only had a C-ranked legacy and he only got it after raiding a unique B-ranked dungeon during Dragon Souls' launch year.

Thinking of that, Greg's eyes could not help but widen in his little body. 'Wait, this is Dragon Souls?'

He finally paid attention to the floating text that appeared before him, everything was self-explanatory.

At this moment, Greg really wanted to doubt the reality that was before him but he could not, it was just too vivid.

'Wait, was my crazy wish really fulfilled and I got reincarnated? No, I didn't die, so this is transmigration right?'

'And damn! I got transmigrated into the world of Dragon Souls?!'

'Holy potatoes!'

'Besides, an SSS-Ranked legacy?! Damn! Even Emperor Elvis, the best player in the game only had an A-ranked legacy, S-ranked legacies were regarded as stuff of myth but now this? An SSS-Ranked legacy?!'

'Damn!'

While Greg thought of all of this, in reality, he was still wailing.

Hearing him wail, a smile of relief finally came upon his mother's face. Right at that moment, the mid-wife handed the child to the mother. "Congratulations, it is a baby boy".

Greg finally laid eyes on his mother; it was a brief reunion.

She was incredibly beautiful. She had short silver hair and beautiful blue eyes. Greg was perplexed though; in his 35 years of existence, he was never a family person but he knew a bit about childbirth.

Was the mother not supposed to be happy at giving birth safely? So, why was his mother so tensed and was crying instead of smiling in joy?

At that moment, the door to this room was pushed open as one of the assistants of the mid-wife ran inside, sweat all over her face.

That was when Greg finally heard the commotion outside.

The midwife looked at her assistant. "Spill it".

She had a pale look on her face. "Madam, the town's wall has fallen, the goblins are already inside Clawridge!"

"What?" The midwife was alarmed. "What of the reinforcement from Godgrave?"

"They're yet to arrive".

"Pack our clothes, we're leaving now".

"Yes madam".

The midwife turned to face her client, a remorseful look on her face.

Greg's mom didn't let her speak though, she smiled. "I understand," she said, tears rolling down her face.

"All the other midwives left me alone, saving their lives once the news of a goblin attack led by a hobgoblin came".

"You were the only one who stayed behind to help me deliver". Her tears flowed faster. "Agatha, I won't forget this even in death".

"Carla, we can still escape together".

"No," she shook her head resolutely, looking down at the blood all over the bed. "I lost too much blood pushing him," she looked at her baby affectionately.

"I will only drag you back if I follow you".

"No, you…"

"Do you want my baby to die?!" She stared at the mid-wife with blood-shot eyes, crying. "Please, Agatha, save my baby".

Seeing that look in her eyes, the midwife no longer hesitated. She nodded before carefully carrying the boy from her arms.

Watching all of this, Greg was shocked. 'What?!'

'I'm just arriving and my mother is about to die?'

'What kind of messed up transmigration is this? I refuse!'

His opinion meant nothing in this scenario though.

The midwife looked at her client with determined eyes. "I will save him".

She nodded, satisfied. She looked at him one last time "He has my hair and eyes". She smiled dreamily, and then she looked at the midwife again.

"His name is Aldric, Aldric Stormrider".

The midwife nodded.

"Madam, they're here!" Her assistant screamed in fear.

"Take the back door".

Leading the way, the mid-wife ran with her assistant, taking the back door and leaving the building.

Bam!

They left just in time as the goblins broke into the house.

'No…!' Greg screamed in his mind to no avail.

"Waaah…!" In reality, he wailed loudly.

Greg was a 35 years old man, but at this moment looking at that woman still on the bed, all he saw was a mother who loved him and brought him to this world even at the cost of her own life.

Watching as she was in danger, he felt desperate.

"Waaah!" He kept on wailing.

Greg could do nothing.

He watched as the goblins tore the house apart. He also watched as one of them laughed savagely before smashing his mother's head with a wooden club.

"Waaah!"

Greg watched his mom die.

What a way for this world to welcome him.

For the next few minutes, Greg just watched from the underdeveloped eyes of the baby as Clawridge Town, his mom's town was torn apart by the goblins.

The town was set on fire.

Everywhere, he saw townsmen running for their lives, screaming in panic. Any of them that fell was either crushed by the stampede or became victim to the rampaging goblins.

Staring at their green skin, their red eyes, and their yellow teeth as they cackled, slaughtering with wanton abandon, all Greg felt was deep-seethed hatred.

'I will kill you!'

'I will kill all of you!'

The midwife managed to escape with the boy.

That evening, Clawridge Town fell to the goblins, becoming a ruin.

By the time the reinforcements from Godgrave came, the town was already 70% destroyed, all they could save was the ruin left of Clawridge.

Over 3,000 people died.
