There was a big difference between a 100% chance of taming any beast below the S Rank and a 100% chance of taming any Dragon.
As a veteran of Dark Souls, Aldric had a lot of knowledge about the game.
In the world of Dark Souls, at least the part of it that were already explored by players, the highest rank of beasts that had ever been encountered by any player was the A Rank, and even those were absolute monsters.
Players in the game had only ever seen a Dragon from afar, they were too weak to approach.
Rumors were that Dragons were the only S-Ranked beasts in the game.
But now, not only did Aldric learn that there was actually an SSS-Rank, he also learned that there were also beasts at this level.
None of that mattered much though, what truly mattered was that the game developers already clarified long ago that Dragons were the most powerful existences in the world of Dragon Souls.
Afterall, Dragons was the only race unavailable to players to start with.
This was why Aldric's opinion of his legacy rose to crazy heights. He truly hit the jackpot with this one.
'23 years of gaming was not wasted after all'.
Yes, Aldric's avid journey into video games started when he was just 12.
One of his biggest dreams was reincarnating after dying into one of these worlds to experience the real thing. He didn't die, but now, he got the opportunity of transmigration to live the life he always dreamed of.
And not just that, he got the best jackpot to go with it, the Dragon Lord SSS-Ranked legacy.
…
By the time Aldric was 3, he could already wield a knife.
At first, Agatha was horrified when she saw her son with a knife but seeing how Aldric held the knife, Ethan chuckled. "Boy, you've been looking at me, right?"
"The boy is talented with the knife".
"Let me take him to the field and teach him how to swing it".
'Yes!' Aldric said in his mind but someone was not in support though.
Agatha glared at her husband, fuming. "How can you say that? The boy is just 3!" She said with heavy emphasis. "Besides, Aldric is not going to be a warrior, he's too smart for that".
"He's been following me to the clinic recently, clearly, he's interested in being a healer". She picked him up, smiling and drowning him in kisses and love. "Right, my little sweet munchkin?"
"Mom!" Aldric complained.
In the end, when he himself insisted, Ethan eventually won and got to take him to the field for the first time, teaching him how to swing a knife.
On that day was when Aldric got his first major XP.

…
Aldric already used his Dragon Eyes skill on his father and mother long ago, observing their Dragon Souls' status.
Ethan was just an average warrior, but his wife, Agatha was a fairly skilled healer. Aldric had the choice to copy their skills since but he refrained from it, since a 1-year old son suddenly mastering how to wield a sword and basic healing techniques would be far too abnormal.
Doing it at age 3 was still fairly abnormal but Aldric no longer wanted to wait.
Besides, over the past 2 years, through the books that his mom read to him, after awakening his legacy, Aldric discovered that he could get XP from learning knowledge from the books.
He got only crumbs of experience each time though, 8, 9, and 10 XP at a time but with his 100x rewards passive skill, they were multiplied, helping him level up to level 2 but now, after wielding a knife for the first time with the help of his father, he leveled up all the way to level 3.
Aldric focused on his father.

Since his wife brought the boy home that night, Ethan knew that he was special. He didn't pay too much attention to it though, rather, he focused on loving Aldric like his own son, raising him in a happy home.
Ethan was a warrior but he ran with his family when his town needed him the most, this ghost had been haunting him for the past 3 years.
It was already 3 years yet he refused to join Oakwood's army, this was because of the shame to his pride from Clawridge.
When he decided to bring Aldric out to the field, it was to gauge his talent with the knife but also to spend some lovely father and son time with his son.
He never expected Aldric to suddenly become so proficient with the knife.
'This boy…!' He was shocked seeing Aldric swing the knife.
'It's almost as if he's as good as me already'.
"Aldric, I think that's enough for today. Dinner is ready, let's go eat".
Holding his little hand, Ethan led him inside but he could not help but worry. 'We've been living a low-key life since running from Clawridge, but with this talent of his, will we be able to keep him hidden?'
Afterall, rumors of a prodigy who is far more intelligent than his age from Clawridge were already flying in the town.
They were already calling him Aldric Stormrider of Clawridge.
Ethan already tried to convince his wife to change Aldric's last name to his own name long ago since it was less attention grabbing, but Agatha refused.
According to her, it was Aldric's biological mom's last wish.
She vowed to fulfill it.
Ethan sighed. 'Can we keep you hidden, Aldric?'
