When the superiors got out of the wide dining hall, Jevro and I didn't stay inside and decided to go out. Clewin also quickly followed us while the three Korean Gwandys left because their companions were still there. The conflict that happened earlier was like a bubble that suddenly disappeared into thin air. Jevro didn't even think of talking to the representatives of India.
"Brother Yohan, are you going straight to your room?" Clewin asked as we walked down the hallway of the hotel.
"Yes I am. Im not sure about Jevro. I need to call the Philippines to see how the two people at home are doing." I answered him while focusing my attention on the cellphone I was holding.
"I said earlier, we have to call our little daughter. We promised to call her when we get to the US." Jevro answered while continuing to walk.
"Are you really going to continue your joke earlier, brother Jevro?"
"But I'm not joking earlier?"
I did not join the conversation between the two. I'm busy contacting the Philippines. And just a few seconds later, the line rang. The two people I was walking with stopped talking and focused their attention on me.
"Daddy! You two just arrived?" Devaugn's shrill voice greeted me.
How weird, Devaugn is not my real daughter and even more so she is not real human, but I feel a strange joy now that I have heard her voice. I felt Clewin suddenly stop walking.
"Yes. How are you? And how is your grandfather?" I answered her with a question.
"Grandpa is here. He's talking with the staff. By the way, where's my other Dad?"
I secretly swallowed and sighed before glancing at Jevro beside me. He also seemed to have heard Devaugn's question so a smile appeared on his lips.
"He's here. I'll pass him the phone." I answered the little girl before handing the phone to Jevro.
The man stepped forward away from us and started talking to our bird, I mean, daughter. While Clewin stopped walking with his mouth wide open. Shock and curiosity strikes him for sure.
Me on the other hand, senses something behind us. And when I turned around to check, my eyes narrowed and my eyes shine gold. Activating the power to see clearly.
"Han.. Yohan!"
That is Jevro's voice. I came back to my senses after hearing it.
"Are you okay? You look serious." He said while following my gaze.
I blinked a few times before looking at him. "Sorry, are you done talking to Devaugn?"
I noticed that Clewin was no longer with us. I don't know how long I stared at where we came from. All I know is that, I saw a shadow following us and suddenly turned when it noticed that I was looking.
"Yeah, What happened? Clewin called you several times but you didn't answer. He even said his goodbye but you were still unresponsive. Something wrong?"
Jevro handed me my cellphone while asking. His eyes are full of curiosity as well as worries. From time to time he was also looking in the direction I was looking earlier.
I took a deep breath before shaking my head. "Nothing so serious. It's like I just saw a shadow following us. Perhaps it was just my imagination."
Jevro frowned before he asked me to continue walking. I nodded my head and followed him. Although I noticed that he looked back one more time.
Well, even if it was just my imagination or it was real, I can't let my guard down in this situation. Especially now that we are not in our own country. There are many people we don't know and many eyes may be watching us right now. But hold on, I remembered the Japanese Malemyn in the dining hall earlier.
"Jevro, did you notice the Japanese solo eating earlier?"
We are close to our own room where we will sleep temporarily. I don't know where Clewin is or where his room is.
"Japanese? You mean, the one who has twin blades on his back?"
"En. That one."
"What's up with him?" He asked me while opening the door to our room.
"Nothing, I just think he's powerful. Even his colleagues didn't accompany him to eat."
We entered the room and Jevro locked it. "I don't pay attention to people I don't know. He maybe is powerful but I don't care. As long as he doesn't stick his nose to my own business. By the way, our final training is tomorrow with the other Malemyns, forget what you saw and just rest."
I didn't say a word. He's right. However, do I really have to ignore what I saw earlier? Never mind, I have powers to protect myself and also to protect Jevro. Unless the person who owns the shadow is more powerful than us. Then I have no choice but to seek help from other Malemyns.
"What did Devaugn tell you?" I asked him.
"Nothing much, he just asked how we are doing here." Jevro answered while taking off his clothes. "Ah! She said, don't make me tired."
I automatically frowned. "What?"
He just shrugged with a smirk. "I don't understand either, don't ask me."
Well, maybe Devaugn thinks I'm going to get Jevro to teach me how to fight. Right? I can't think of any other reason to make him tired. Is there?
I just waited for Jevro to finish taking a shower before I took a shower. We have to wake up early tomorrow for training. Inside the room with only one king size bed, I lay next to him on the bed. No malice, we both men.
We both men.. yes. But.. Why the fuck is he hugging me from behind?!
"Get off me.." I tried to be calm.
"Shut up, I'm cold."
"You're a fire user Jevro, stop messing with me." I said that without parting my jaws.
"Don't care. You're the mother of our child, I'm the father. So its fine even if I hug you while sleeping." The bastard hugged me even more.
With that, I clenched my fists and was ready to punch him when the light in our room suddenly went off. We got up together and looked out the window. There is a light outside but why is there not in our room?
If the management says that there is a problem with the electricity in the whole hotel, none of the stupid Malemyns and Gwandys will believe it. Because it is impossible for this situation to happen by chance.
I opened my mouth to speak when I suddenly noticed something. I also felt the movement of Jevro's hand beside me. He's looking for my hand to make sure we're still next to each other. But, I quickly teleported somewhere inside the room.
"Yohan? Where are you?"
In just an instant, I heard a finger's flick. And after that, the room suddenly lightened. The fire in Jevro's hand is the cause of the light. And because of that, the situation inside the room became clear to his eyes.
"Wrong target?" He said while looking at me.
"En."
I answered him while my hands were hanging in the air. At the end of the direction of my hand, there was a person floating in the air. Using his strength trying to escape from me. We can't remember the man's appearance but we are both sure that we have never even met him.
"Your eyes are really shining bright in the dark. Are you using one of your powers?" Jevro asked as he got off the bed.
"En.. By the way. What should we do to him?"
He gets near the man who keeps struggling. He then stood there while observing.
"Did you cover his mouth or he really can't talk?"
I was stunned there. Yeah, I just noticed now, the man whom i captured never make a sound.
"No, I don't. He doesn't really talk." I answered Jevro.
"That's weird." Jevro put his hands with fire under the man's feet. But the man remains silent and just keeps struggling. "Yohan, I think you caught a doppelganger user."
"Huh?!"
"Don't be disappointed. Don't worry, this man you captured is indeed the shadow but it can feel pain. No, let me rephrase what I said. This doppleganger can actually send the pain to its original body. And thats mean , we can torture him if he doesn't say why he's here in our room." Jevro's evil smile makes me gulp.
The man, I mean the doppelganger struggles more. I can feel his fear but like what Jevro's said, we need to find out why this man entered our room and even caused the hotel's lights off.
"But how do we interrogate him?" I asked Jevro.
"Simple, this thing can still write. It's original body sent his half power to it for sure. Let's use that to let him speak. Shall we?" Jevro keeps smiling. It's bothering me.
