Sirius maintained his form as a phoenix and waited for Odin to give his judgment for their crime.
Ever since he had drank the werewolf blood his beast was very anxious inside of him. Surges of energy pulsed through him and he had to fight to keep his phoenix wings from burning Saoirse.
The taste of werewolf blood lingered on his tongue—a mistake he had made in desperation, it had indeed given him the power that he needed to catch her, but now it left him with an unwelcome hunger simmering beneath his control.
"Give me more…" his beast demanded.
He shifted into a wendigo again, since it helped keep his fire contained. A little bit of smoke escaped his chest through his nose.
"Steady." He told his beast with his mind.
Saoirse shifted out of her wolf form and rested quietly in his embrace. It was exhausting all of the stress she had gone through. It had only been 8 hours since she went missing, but it felt like 12.
She hadn't eaten anything and had vomited right before, so healing from her injuries had left her tired. Still, her metabolism wasn't normally this fast. For some reason, Sirius seemed to be giving her a lot of hungry feelings.
The exhaustion radiated off of her, which only made Sirius' efforts to contain bis power more difficult. His mind once again wondered if it was possible that she was tired because she was with child, but he pushed it out of his mind forcefully.
Sirius looked at her belly and from this angle, it truely was flat. His beast took a snif of her.
"She doesn't smell like a cub anymore." His beast said with confusion.
He sighed. Maybe I've made it all up. Maybe I have to accept that this whole thing was just a scare. "I'm sorry for obsessing about a fake pregnancy." He said quietly.
"Hey." She said grabbing ahold of his hand, which was still on her abdomen. "It's fine. We really will have cubs someday, I promise. We just have to be patient." She lifted his hand off of her as if to tell him that he had to move on.
Tears welled up in his eyes when she spoke of patience. It made him sad and angry at his fate. It wasn't like they could just try again. He had gotten so excited that maybe he could have this blessing on accident since he didn't intend to concieve a cub on purpose.
"I hate my father." His beast grumbled inside of him.
He wiped away his tear and looked away from her. She reached up at him and stroked his hair. Then, with difficulty, she sat up and gave him a hug, filling him with her love.
Another wave of exhaustion radiated from her and she was forced to lean on him and went silent.
Sirius' beast had steadily gotten more powerful as the blood he had drank hit his bloodstream. He fought to take advantage of this exhaustion to slip back out. Scales ran up his neck and he winced in pain. He mentally suppressed himself. The scales once again retracted and a little bit of ice leaked out of Saoirse onto the floor. It seemed that Sirius' growing difficulty to contain his power had leaked over to her and she couldn't do anything but release it.
Why am I struggling? Was it the werewolf blood? This felt harder to contain than last time though.
He glanced at the cup on the table and the smell of the werewolf blood wafted off of it. It smelled a bit off. He suddenly wondered if he had been too trusting of the Beta.
But he came out of his thoughts as Nanna suddenly shrieked with anger, "How is that woman using the ice ability?!"
She pointed at Saoirse with her perfectly polished finger nail, her face full of contempt, "That ability is mine!!!! He screamed. "Mani said he would only give it to me! Give it back you thief!"
She turned angrily towards Odin who was still trying to make his decision, attempting to draw his attention towards the ability that nobody know that Saoirse had.
"THATS why she was snooping around Asgard! She must have read from my scroll and learned it!" Nanna yelled.
She rushed over to Saoirse and yelled at her like a maniac and began tugging at the cloak that Saoirse wore.
"GIVE IT BACK YOU LITTLE SLUT!" She grabbed onto the hood of the cloak, pulling her out of Sirius' embrace and yanking it off, exposing Odin's aura to her.
"GIVE THE ABILITY BACK! -ODIN! YOU HAVE TO PUNISH HER! YOU HAVE TO MAKE HER GIVE IT BACK!"
Saoirse screamed in pain as Odin's aura burned her face.
"Goddess stop it!" Sirius cried. He attempted to grab at her, to put the cloak back on but Nanna had ripped it off of her entirely. She ran away, waving it in her arms.
"ENOUGH!" Odin rumbled. "CAN I NOT THINK OF YOUR PUNISHMENT IN PEACE? YOURE GIVING ME A HEADACHE!" Odin rumbled.
A bolt of lightning shot through Nanna in an instant and she jolted in pain. Screaming she did the only dirty thing she could do, she touched Saoirse so she would be electrocuted too. Sirius felt so much power come over to him that he blew fire from his mouth and singed Nanna back right in the face.
"I SAID ENOUGH NANNA! BEHAVE LIKE A GODDESS OR SO HELP ME, I'LL GIVE THAT SON OF YOURS THE WEAKEST DOMAIN OF ALL THE GODS!"
Odin turned to Sirius. "I've decided that I cannot allow Sirius and Saoirse to have any children. That is my punishment.
He is forbidden just like Loki to do so until I can find out who his real father is. Alastor may be special to Loki, but he is still a vampire and he doesn't have the ability to shift, so the ability couldn't have come from him. I didn't care when Alastor had a kid, he can go ahead and have another one, for all I care, but Sirius, I'm not sure what's going on here and I don't like it."
