Chapter 60 - Chapter 57 Sirius’ beast’s name

The wolves lunged at Sirius with their teeth bore ferociously, hatred in their eyes.

The beta, whose name Sirius still hadn't been able to learn, lay lifeless at his feet—a casualty Sirius hadn't wanted, but at this point, his mind could not be reached.

And his beast didn't care.

The beast, now fully in control, moved with a cruel precision, reveling in the chaos, doing what he wanted, all except revealing himself; he knew better than to allow Odin to see his true form.

Sirius' beast's name was Taz. He had a history with Odin that meant that Odin would have killed Sirius on the spot, and that would be a problem for Taz. Thus, he limited himself to relishing in the fact that he had finally overtaken his body.

"Troublesome thing, it is, to be bound to a human form," Taz mused aloud, his voice carrying an eerie calm that unsettled even the wolves. He smiled, his sharp, white teeth glinting in the moonlight.

Then his form rippled, his body contorting as he shifted. His human frame expanded, his skin turning pale and rough as he morphed into a hulking white alligator. With a deafening roar, he lunged forward, snapping his massive jaws. The wolves scattered, yelping as his teeth grazed their faces. They backed away and wimpered confused, willing Nanna to tell them what to do.

She shouted at them, "I said kill him! Are you deaf? Two of them circled back, their loyalty to Nanna overriding their fear. One dove for his leg, the other aiming for his throat. Taz whipped his powerful tail, sending the first wolf crashing into the nearby table with a sickening thud and the table tipped over, sending the food to the floor and spilling wine.

The second wolf clamped onto his arm, its teeth sinking deep.

Nanna smiled as her white wolf had gained an upper hand. Her bite was venomous and very concentrated.

But Taz laughed. The sound was low and guttural, like the rumble of distant thunder. He swung his arm violently, sending the wolf flying. It hit the ground hard, whimpering as it struggled to stand.

Taz shifted back into his human form, his aura radiating such raw power that it froze the wolves in place. The wolves hesitated, their instincts warring with their orders. They turned their confused eyes to Odin, silently begging for direction. Hoping they would not have to do what Nanna was asking of them.

"Pathetic," Taz said, his voice dripping with disdain. "Is this the best you can offer, Odin? Mangy mutts with no bite?"

He strode toward Nanna, who stood frozen, her body trembling despite her defiant expression. He tilted her chin up with a rough scaled hand, forcing her to look into his burning eyes.

"Tsk, tsk, Nanna," he said, shaking his head mockingly. "I would have thought you'd learned not to betray me again."

Her rage bubbled over. With a sharp twist, she yanked her chin out of his grasp and spat on his shoe.

She knew he had a lot of power. Fighting was actually not her strength. She was thin and preferred to have her men protect her. Why had that meek boy suddenly become a walking nightmare?

"Who are you?" She asked. Like him, she had once had a beast inside of her, a wolf like most werewolves, but she had it removed when she became a goddess, so her beast instincts were gone. For this cause, she couldn't tell who he was as a beast.

Taz chuckled, low and menacing. "Oh, Nanna," he said, his voice a taunting purr. "I'm the monster that keeps real gods awake at night." His aura dominating the two large beasts in the room, willing them to defy her and come to his side.

The wolves immediately lowered their bodies, their heads bowing in submission.

Taz ran his claw along her cheek before snatching her neck in his grasp as well.

Nanna's eyes widened with shock. Before she could respond though, Odin's voice boomed across the room. "Enough!"

The air grew heavy, crackling with divine energy as Odin activated his gleaming spear.

Taz's grin widened. "Finally," he said, turning to face the Allfather. "I was beginning to think you'd let these pups fight your battles for you."

Odin's one eye burned with fury as he pointed his spear at Taz. "You dare challenge me in my own domain?"

Taz's laughter rang out, deep and unyielding. "Challenge? No, Odin." His form rippled again, claws elongating as his beastly power surged. "I'm here to end you."

With a roar, Odin lunged, his spear streaking through the air like lightning. Taz dodged with supernatural speed, the ground cracking beneath his feet as he countered with a bone-crushing punch aimed at Odin's chest.

The clash sent shockwaves through his body, making Odin stumble a bit and breaking the bones in Sirius' hand. He cursed under his breath because his weak human form was so inconvenient and he wasn't used to controlling it.

The battle raged, a storm of power and fury. Odin's divine strikes clashed against Taz's raw, primal strength. Each blow seemed to tear the other apart, the ground splintering under their feet as they traded attack after attack.

Taz roared, his eyes glowing with feral intensity. "You've ruled long enough, old man!" he snarled, dodging a spear thrust and slamming Odin into the nearby table. Hoping to impale him on the table leg. The table leg shattered under the force, sending shards flying.

Even Taz was impressed.

Odin yelled, gripping his spear tightly as he stood. "You are nothing but a beast pretending to be a God. I will show you what it means to stand before a real God."

With a mighty sweep of his spear, a wave of golden energy shot toward Taz, threatening to consume him. But Taz held his ground, digging his claws into the earth as he braced for impact. Then he blew fire at the bolt. The hot air redirecting the bolt. It deflected off and hit the wall. Valkyrie screamed and ran out of the way; some diving to the floor as if it was a volleyball match.

Taz laughed and then he shifted into a wolf, barking orders to his new wolf lackeys. He exuded an aura that forbade them from trying to attack him again. Almost like a silent beast acknowledgment that he was their real king, not Odin.

Before the wolves could do anything he had told them to do, Odin lunged.

His spear was a blur of golden light. It went at him with such a precise speed, he could tell that he was giving it his all in that thrust. A thrust intended to end the fight in a single strike.Taz sidestepped, the blade cutting off some of his fur. The spear stabbed into the floor, sending pieces of stone flying.

"You're getting slow old man." Taz exclaimed with excitement. He kicked Odin away from his spear and began circling Odin like a predator stalking its prey.

He feigned a lunge, baiting Odin into overextending. Odin shot another bolt towards him and he dodged that too. It hit the wall, burning a pattern of spidery veins.

He snapped his teeth at Odin a few times before pivoting and slamming his claws into Odin's side. The Allfather grunted, his armor denting under the force. Then his claws raked through the air, inches from Odin's throat.

Time seemed to stop for a minute there as Odin couldn't come up with a way to escape his fate.

But then Sirius had regained control. "Enough!" He cried.
