Sirius flew in the window just as the sun of the next day was rising and skid across the floor, crashing as gently as he could, sobbing. He was still covered in Saoirse's brother's blood.
"What happened to you? Saoirse cried in shock, "Where did you go?"
Saoirse looked him over, "who's blood is this?! She could tell that a bad fight had broken out, by the waves of fear that Sirius had experienced earlier, but somehow she found that none of the blood on him was his. She hadn't been hit, so she had already known this. Yet Sirius cried out in agony and she couldn't calm him down.
She touched his bloody hand and ran her fingers through his hair as he sobbed. He looked as scared as he always had when they were kids and the thought came to her mind of where he could have gone, but she didn't understand why he would have gone there, so she hesitated.
"Sirius, does it have to do with your father?" She eventually asked. "I know it when I see you trembling like that, he's the only person who makes you tremble. Where did you go? Did you go home?"
Sirius didn't answer her, he just continued sobbing for a while and then quietly an hour passed with him just sitting there in silence.
Saoirse didn't want to press him. She glanced at Lachlan who was napping and was glad he hadn't woken up. She wanted to let Sirius talk when he was ready.
Not wanting to give her the grevious news that haunted him, Sirius let his tears flow until he had exhausted himself. He blamed himself. If only he hadn't gone home, unprepared without a plan, and rashly. What was I thinking ? He tortured himself inside, his survivor's guilt killing him at the thought that perhaps Madeleine and Brimir had died too, their only friends.
Once again because of his father, he was alone. He didn't want to be alone. He placed his hand on Saoirse's belly, hoping to feel assured that his child would be ok. Saoirse had no clue why he would do that. It made her recoil a little bit from his touch.
"Sirius, why are you touching me like that?" She exclaimed as if he had touched her in some violating way. The way he had looked endearingly at her belly made her feel worried.
"You're pregnant Saoirse, I can smell it." Sirius words hit Saoirse like a load of bricks. "Alastor's coming after our baby and I can't fight him. I couldn't save anybody. I couldn't save Linus."
Saoirse backed away from him. "Sirius, what are you saying?…..no!…..Sirius, you're being crazy!"
Sirius held out his hand, in his palm was the ring that Linus always wore, bearing Saoirse's family crest.
She took it and fell to her knees. "No! She screamed, I don't believe you!"
"Saoirse! Calm down! You'll hurt the baby!"
"THERE IS NO BABY!!!! She screamed. This time, Saoirse was the one that was crying.
Sirius was taken aback.
"I'VE CHECKED AND THERE IS NO BABY OK? DO YOU THINK I DIDN'T NOTICE I MISSED MY PERIODS? YOU DON'T THINK I'VE BEEN GOING MAD?"
She ran to the bathroom and came back and threw about ten pregnancy tests at Sirius. Each dated with a pen to show that she had been taking one every day for the past two weeks. Sirius didn't know how long it would take for their baby to show up on one of these things, but for a vampire, who only gestated for 6 months, she should have found out by now. The first trimester was the quickest growth rate for their species as compared to the other trimesters, and she even had a small bump if it wasn't just his imagination. Then again, she was a werewolf. He had no idea what the difference would be, but he assumed it wouldn't make a difference.
Saoirse interrupted his confused thoughts. "WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BROTHER?! WHY ARE YOU SCARING ME SIRIUS?! WHY WOULD YOU GO TO ALASTOR?"
Sirius sat there in shock. He picked up one of the sticks and looked at it. It didn't have a second line.
"But it can't be!" He cried out, "I'm sure of it! A vampire can smell the hormonal changes! I smelled you, you're with child!" He insisted, confused.
Saoirse looked at him with tears in her eyes and pleaded with him, "Please tell me Alastor didn't hurt my brother!"
Sirius looked at the floor. His expression answered her question.
She fell to her knees and let out an anguished "AwooooOoooOooooooo!!!!!" Sirius had never seen her grieve so fiercely, even after all of the trauma that Alastor had inflicted on them.
All of the wolves in the town heard this, and their ears perked up at the sound. It was unmistakable. Somebody had died.
Following the source of the sound, people burst into the apartment and found Saoirse on the floor howling in grief, with the alpha ring clutched tightly in her palm and Sirius across from her, drenched in blood.
"Who has died?" A guard exclaimed, being one of the first to arrive. It was the man from the banquet.
"The Alpha-ooooo." Saoirse cried in agony. King Alastor has killed my brother." She said sobbing, not even looking up.
The man turned angrily at Sirius. "This is all your fault!" He yelled, smacking Sirius across the face. "You show up here and now our Alpha is dead! I knew you would lead Alastor to us!"
"Stop it!" Sirius growled. Even if Saoirse said she wasn't pregnant, he wasn't going to let her feel these blows.
He stood up. "I am the new Alpha now, you will stand down!"
"Over my dead body!" He said shoving Sirius again, "Nobody gets to be the new Alpha without fighting for it!"
As the man shoved Sirius, Saoirse got nauseous and suddenly vomited on the floor again.
The man looked at the pregnancy tests on the floor and realized that when he harmed Sirius, it hurt the Luna as well. He had no respect for the vampire, but he had accepted her as the Luna.
"What is the meaning of this? Huh? What kind of magic do you have connecting you two?" He picked up a pregnancy test off the floor and glared at it. He held it to the light a bit and squinted. It was the one from today. A very faint second line was visible if you squinted really hard. Saoirse had looked at it earlier and it hadn't even been there.
(I saw this and so did everybody else and the room filled with shock.)
The man went grey at the thought that he had just unintentionally hit his pregnant Luna.
"Call the doctor!" He yelled to his companions, our Luna's baby might be in trouble!"

Alastor burned the cabin to the ground. Staring at the flames, he got a small bit of satisfaction knowing that Linus would be going to hell.
Then he lifted up Brimir and Madeleine's unconscious bodies, which were tied up, as if they were a satchel and tossed them into the back of the SUV that was waiting for him. The driver pulled out of the driveway and a small explosion ignited as the cabin's shed caught fire, igniting a gas can.
The forest followed, igniting the pines.
"Your majesty, I do believe that the forest has caught fire, not to question you my liege, but should I call someone to put it out?"
"No need. Let it burn. My treacherous son has decided to stop hiding here, so I should too right? I believe it's time to make my presence known so that the whole world and the Gods realize that us sons of Loki are not being stepped on anymore."
Then he smiled out the window as a pine tree behind them fell. "That's the point isn't it, of Ragnarok? Burning the world will sprout a new generation of the Gods. That's what Loki says anyway. A new pine tree won't grow if the seed doesn't get burned."
