Chapter 38 - chapter 35 I have to save her life

"And why would he need to do that?" Suddenly a dark presence said from behind them. Alastor had overheard a bit of the conversation, but not the part where Sirius had told them he thought that Saoirse was pregnant.

Sirius turned around quickly. His blood ran a bit cold.

"It seems to me that you've been packing to leave somewhere, I was informed that someone broke your window and you paid someone to fix it out of your own funds, now why would that be? You know I have eyes everywhere Sirius, where are you planning on running to? You know I don't allow Vampires to leave the North Banes Territory."

(He had called it that ever since he stole Saoirse's family lands. To show his achievement, all of the land that he owned now held the name.)

Brimir pulled Madeleine inside and closed the door, still knowing it was best for them not to get involved. Madeleine objected to this, but her husband had a serious look in his eye.

Sirius looked at the ground.

(In this version, he was standing in the front of the house, not by the shed, and weapons hadn't been searched for yet. In fact, Alastor didn't know that they had left, this was the day he originally would have found out they had been gone, as a twist of luck or misfortune, he would soon find out.)

"You're not planning to run away with that girl of yours are you?" Alastor asked.

"Of course not father." Sirius said. "She just wanted to go to the university for a while so we will be staying in a human town for a bit."

"Is that so?"

"Yes father."

"Well that is nice then." Alastor said casually, as if he wouldn't actually mind Saoirse going to school.

Sirius looked up surprised at him.

"I suppose that there is a reason that I was also told a werewolf had come here and took all of your animals." Alastor continued, his calm smile sinister as if he had just won at chess. "What a crazy coincidence! Now, how did your window get broken? Nobody told me that part, perhaps you could shed some light on that? I'd love to hear the story."

"What? No I don't know about any werewolves…It must be a misunderstanding, Saoirse was the one who broke it, she was so mad at me….."

Alastor frowned, his sinister smile turning darker. "Don't lie to me boy!" He grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. "I wiped out werewolves from this place and I've heard rumors that they have grown in numbers again somehow. If they are in the area and one was seen at your house then you two would know where they are. You tell me now boy or so help me I will burn you and have another son! I don't need to waste more of my time on you!"

"They must have seen me and Saoirse!" Sirius said gritting his teeth.

Alastor kicked him in the face and stood on top of his chest. "You are just a fly child. I'll teach you to lie to me!"

Alastor snapped his fingers and men came forward and put handcuffs on Sirius. "Lock him up until he is ready to talk. "Go search the university and find his wife. I will find those werewolves."

—————-

Saoirse was busy giving some mashed up turkey and pumpkin baby food to Lachlan in the cafeteria with Linus. Lachlan was in a high chair next to the table and Linus was eating while he read some reports that the global council would be discussing in their meeting later in the day. The reunion of all of his children who had packs of their own.

She suddenly felt pain as if someone had punched her in the face.

(This of course, was when Alastor had kicked Sirius.)

Blood began running from her nose. "What is happening?" She cried, "Something is happening to Sirius!" She screamed as she fell to the floor, blood running down her face as she suddenly got dizzy. Linus grabbed a towel and held it to her nose, shock evident on his face.

As soon as she had steadied herself, she vomited.

Linus took another towel from the table and wiped off her pale, sick face. "Saoirse, what is going on with you? You've been vomiting for a week now! Sorry to ask, but do you think you could be…pregnant?"

She quickly shook her head, "Linus don't ask me that, you don't know how much it hurts if you ask me that."

He continued looking at her with concern so she sighed, "I haven't told Sirius, but I…I've been checking every day, and the answer is no."

Linus nodded. "Ok then, well I'm here for you if you ever want to talk ok?"

Saoirse smiled, but suddenly gashes began appearing on her body as if someone were attacking her, it began to look like she was being tortured. Her beast exploded from her body and protected her in an instant, as the blows hit her, it dealt her less harm.

She screamed and screamed and screamed for several minutes and then she threw up blood.

Linus watched in horror. "It's your bond isn't it?"

She couldn't respond she just kept screaming. Lachlan was screaming too, terrified. Linus picked him up and ran to the door to the cafeteria. A lady was walking down the hallway and he stopped her, "bring him to his nanny, fast!" She heard the tortured screams coming from the dining room and took a peek, saoirse was covered in bruises and unconscious now as she continued to lose blood. Blood splattered and new cuts were still appearing on her. This would kill her if they didn't do something.

"I'll call an ambulance! She shouted as she took the baby and ran away."

Linus tried pouring blood down her throat to heal her and it poured onto the ground instead, she wasn't in the mind to swallow it. She began fading as if becoming slightly transparent. An ambulance pulled up from the hospital down the street and paramedics rushed in.

"She's dying! Help me!" Linus screamed.

They picked her up and put her on a stretcher and put a intravenous line of blood into her arm. "We've got a code blue, she's got no pulse!"

Another paramedic came and tried shocking her heart to get it beating again. She was becoming more transparent by the minute and they shocked her again. With a shock her color came back a bit, only to fade again.

"I need more blood! Give her 10 milliliters of Linastat!"

A third paramedic injected something into her IV.

"What's that?" Linus tried to ask in the commotion.

"Alpha, we are going to need you to stay back we need to get her to the ER right away, what kind of magic is this?"

"She's….she has a bond with her husband, someone must be torturing him!"

"It's bond magic!" She shouted at the lead paramedic. "Bond magic? That's very rare! I haven't seen that before, only in textbooks…"

The paramedic hesitated, which drove Linus crazy. "Give her a pyromanasupressant!" He yelled, it suppresses mana, it should lessen Sirius' affect on her right?"

The one who had given her the shot earlier ran something else through her IV and she began calming a bit. Her color came back a bit and she wasn't as transparent as before.

She lay still and her pulse came back. They put an oxygen mask on her and said exhaustedly "patient is stable, let's load her up."

Linus got into the ambulance with her and they rushed to the hospital. He waited in the waiting room for a while while she was finished being cared for and the doctor came to get him.

"She is stable now, we have to keep her sedated because she is being influenced by bond magic, anything that happens with her husband will hurt her. We will keep her on a pyromanasupressant for the time being until we can bring him in, where is her husband?"

"I'm not sure, Saoirse said he went out this morning and hasn't returned."

"We need to find them or else if he continues to have problems, we won't be able to save her. If he dies then she will be in a coma and no one has ever successfully woken up from something like that. Whatever is going on with him, as our Alpha, would you please find him?"

"There's no way to break her bond to him?" Linus asked. Even though he knew the paramedics didn't know a lot about bond magic, he hoped that the doctor would.

"Unfortunately she would have to bond with another vampire which is possible, but in her state the pyromanasupressant might also be the only thing keeping him alive, that and the amount of blood we are giving her. He is probably in a coma as well at this point. We have had to give a lot of blood to heal those wounds meaning probably he continued taking a beating long after she got here. The amount of blood we gave her, it was enough for two people."

Linus let that sink in for a minute and shot a desperate look at his sister who was lying there asleep.

"We gave her a little more linastat, that's a medication that helps heal wounds faster like an adrenaline shot. It also helped bring back her pulse after we kept losing her. She coded about five times. It's possible her husband was even dead for a few minutes."

Linus gave the doctor a grave look, whoever did this must have been stronger than the prince of the vampires and must have been very angry. It was almost like sending him on a death mission to save his brother in law. Only one person would be this cruel. And that was Alastor. He clenched his fists.

"Very well, please take good care of her, I will need time to find him."

The doctor grabbed his arm as he left, "Please be careful Alpha; make sure you bring enough men. We will hold onto her as long as we can."

"Don't you worry I am going to bring the whole council. This man has had it coming for far too long, now that he dared mess with my sister, I'll make sure he is in a worse state than he put her in."
