Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Aurora was sitting in her history class, trying to focus on the teacher's lecture. But her mind kept wandering back to the mysterious conversation she had with Bryson the day before. Just as she was starting to get interested in the lesson, the classroom door burst open and Scarlet walked in. The teacher looked up, startled. "Can I help you?" she asked. Scarlet smiled sweetly. "I'm so sorry to interrupt, ma'am," she said. "But I'm looking for Aurora Stanford. Is she in this class?"

Aurora felt her heart sink as all eyes turned to her. She nodded reluctantly, feeling a sense of trepidation. Scarlet's smile grew wider. "Great," she said. "I'll just take a minute of her time, then." The teacher looked uncertain about that situation, but Scarlet's confident demeanor seemed to intimidate her. "Okay, but please make it quick," she said. Scarlet nodded and walked over to Aurora's desk. "Let's take a walk," she said, her voice low and menacing.Aurora felt a cold shiver run down her spine as she got up from her seat and followed Scarlet out of the classroom. As they walked down the empty hallway, Scarlet turned to Aurora with a sly smile. "So, I hear you've been asking questions about Bryson," she said. "And who's she perhaps, just showed up twice, and still don't know her! Aurora's heart skipped a beat. How did Scarlet know that? "What do you want?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady. Scarlet's smile grew wider. "Oh, I just want to give you a warning, darling," she said. "Stay away from Bryson. He's not what you think he is he's more than you expect from him. "Aurora felt a surge of fear. What did Scarlet mean? And why was she warning her away from Bryson? This was the same thing Caspian said, is Bryson truly the bad guy here?" what's going on here? She questioned herself as the silence was in the air.As she stood there, frozen with uncertainty, Scarlet turned and walked away, leaving Aurora with more questions than answers. Aurora stood there for a moment, watching Scarlet disappear into the crowd of students. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized that Scarlet had been warning her away from Bryson. But why? All threats on BrysonAurora's mind were racing with questions as she walked back to her classroom. She couldn't concentrate on the rest of the lesson, her thoughts consumed by the mysterious conversation with Scarlet. As soon as the bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, Aurora rushed out of the classroom to find Bryson. She had to know what was going on. With all this Bryson's threats were everywhere in her ears. But as she scanned the crowded hallway, she couldn't find him anywhere. It was as if he had vanished into thin air all of a sudden, what was happening.Aurora felt a pang of frustration and worry. Where was Bryson? And what was he hiding from her? Just as she was about to give up searching for him, she heard a faint whisper in her ear. "Meet me at the old oak tree in the park at 5 pm," the voice said. "Come alone." Aurora spun around, but there was no one there. The voice seemed to come from all around her, echoing off the walls. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized that the voice was Bryson's. What did he want to meet her about? And why did he want her to come alone? And where the hell is he, only his voice?Aurora's heart was racing with anticipation and fear as she made her way to the park later that day. She had a feeling that her life was about to change forever. As Aurora walked to the park, she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. The trees seemed to loom over her, casting long, ominous shadows on the ground. She arrived at the old oak tree at 5 pm sharp, looking around nervously for any sign of Bryson. But he was nowhere to be seen. Just as she was starting to get worried, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was Bryson, his brown eyes gleaming with an otherworldly intensity in the fading light." Aurora," he said, his voice low and husky. "I'm glad you came." Aurora felt a shiver run down her spine as Bryson approached her. There was something about him that seemed different, something that made her feel like she was in danger."What's going on, Bryson?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady. "Why did you want to meet me here?" Bryson smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I wanted to show you something," he said. "Something that will change everything."Aurora felt a surge of curiosity mixed with fear. What could Bryson possibly want to show her? As she hesitated, Bryson reached out and took her hand. His touch sent shivers down her spine, and she felt like she was being pulled into a world she didn't understand, a world where she would be left dumbfounded. "Come with me," Bryson said, his voice low and hypnotic. "I'll show you the truth."Aurora felt like she was in a trance as she followed Bryson deeper into the park. The trees seemed to close in around them, casting long, ominous shadows on the ground. As they walked, the air grew colder and the shadows seemed to grow longer. Aurora felt like she was being pulled into a world of darkness and fear. And then, just as she was starting to feel like she was in grave danger, Bryson stopped in front of a large, ancient-looking tree." This is it," he said, his voice low and husky. "This is the truth."Aurora felt a surge of curiosity mixed with fear. What was Bryson going to show her? As she looked up at the tree, she saw that it was covered in strange symbols and markings. They seemed to pulse with a malevolent energy, and Aurora felt like she was being drawn into a world of darkness and fear. And then, just as she was starting to feel like she was in grave danger, Scarlet appeared out of nowhere, her eyes blazing with anger. "You're not going to show her, are you?" Scarlet spat; her voice venomous. "You're not going to tell her the truth?" Bryson's eyes flashed with anger, and he took a step forward, his fists clenched."What are you talking about, Scarlet?" he growled. Scarlet's smile was like a knife cut. "I'm talking about the truth, Bryson," she said. "The truth about what you are, and what you've been hiding from Aurora all this while."Aurora felt like she was in the middle of a nightmare. What was going on? And what did Scarlet mean by "what Bryson was?" As she looked at Bryson, she saw that his eyes had changed. They were no longer human, but rather a glowing, otherworldly yellow. Aurora felt like she was staring into the face of a monster. And then, everything went black. As Aurora lay unconscious on the ground, Scarlet and Bryson stood over her, their eyes locked in a fierce stare. "You're so going to pay for this, Bryson," Scarlet spat, her voice venomous. Bryson's eyes flashed with anger, and he took a step forward, his fists clenched. "You don't understand, Scarlet," he growled. "I'm trying to protect her." From what?" she questioned sarcastically, "your true personality or her vengeful past". Scarlet's laughter was like a knife cut. "Protect her?" she repeated. "You're the one who's been lying to her, Bryson. You're the one who's been hiding the truth from her. Ever since" Bryson's eyes dropped, and he looked away, his jaw clenched in anger. And then, in a flash of insight, Aurora remembered the strange symbol on Bryson's hand. The symbol looked like a cross between a crescent moon and a star. Suddenly, the pieces clicked into place. Bryson's true identity was connected to that symbol she had earlier seen on the ancient tree. But what did it mean? And what was Bryson's true identity
