Chapter 12: A hero will always appear
The battle had been going on for an hour and the humans had be reduced to half their number. The demons had only lost around a thousand of their initial five thousand. This wasn't because they were overwhelmingly stronger, but that's just how much of a difference the dukes made in the battle.
Zom's zombies everywhere along with the fear of being suddenly betrayed by your companion when Minerva acts were the leading cause of death for the humans.
As for the demon lord you might ask...he was still playing around in the back lines of the enemies. At this time he was sitting on top of his giant serpent's head as it massacred hundreds of people.
Although he was technically doing his job, he was obviously not taking it seriously.
"Hehehe, the others are probably questioning my sanity right now I bet. They need to understand, just because I can do everything myself doesn't mean I should, wouldn't they become redundant then?, in fact I should be like those two human leaders over there who retreated when the battle began, though I guess the deserter was a lot cooler...maybe i shouldn't have killed him so quickly". The demon lord was talking to himself as he sat on top of the rampaging serpent.
Although some of what he said made sense, but the rest of it showed that he really had a few bolts loose in his head, not to mention talking to himself.
The battle continued for another hour and surprisingly the humans had adopted to the situation. They weren't losing people as much as before and even managed to kill off most of the zombies along with another thousand demons. Even the dukes were looking tired at this time and even had some injuries on them.
"Well, the situation seems to be getting dicy for my men, I guess it's about time I seriously act". With that statement, the demon lord disappeared from the head of the serpent which continued on to massacre the soldiers.

The two kings who had retreated a bit away from the battle suddenly exploded into bloody mist.
Before the humans could react the demon king's voice was heard once again....
"Sweeping darkness"
A large blade of darkness suddenly extended from the demon lord as he swiped his hand and the backline which involved the mages and healers were all split in half. They all died with a shocked expression on their face. More than eight thousand soldiers were killed in one slash.

Back at the lonely cabin...
The battle between the humans and the demons was being shown on a hologram like screen. The viewers being the five sages along with the young man.
When the deserter gave a speech and eventually killed..
"Sigh....he might have had his flaws but in the end, he was the embodiment of a true leader", one of the girls said.
When the serpent upgraded and started killing people left and right...
"Please help them, they can't win on their own". The redhead said with a tone of grief in her voice as she saw the people being killed with no resistance at all.
"Trust me, I know these things, a hero will always appear around this time and save the day, we don't need to be involved, it will work out... eventually". The young man slowly said while still looking at the screen.
"I hope you're right", the redhead could only unwillingly agree.
When the backline was wiped out by the demon lord in one swing...
"Okay if you aren't going to do anything then it's fine, I'll go instead you just sit there and wait for your hero". The redhead stood up while fuming ready to run off
"Me too" ×4. The others girls simultaneously said as they also stood up.
"...."
"Fine I'll help them sit down, just so you know I'm only doing this for you, I didn't want to be involved in this". After a moment of silence the young man finally said.
And with that, he lifted his hand, his eyes glowing silver.
Something that will forever be a mystery to most of those outside of the cabin happened....
