NINETEEN YEARS AGO...
In a random capital city somewhere on Earth in Africa
(Author's thoughts, "hehehe, this time it ain't Japan!")....
A young man could be seen walking amongst a crowd on a busy street. His eyes looking forward, yet seemed to be looking at nothing in particular.
So lost in the music from his headphones he didn't notice that the street light had gone red.
And so, like the usual, Truck-kun just happened to be in the area and was speeding down the road like always.
The young man was hit so hard by the speeding truck that by the time his body reached the ground he was already dead...
His soul had already left his body while it was still in the air. Even got to see people gathering around it, before he was sucked into the void by a suction force he could not resist.
As his soul drifted forward completely at the mercy of the force he only had one thought...
{So I died huh, that bleak life is finally over.... I wonder what's next?}
Yup, the young man was one of the rising number of people on Earth who hate it.
After being dragged for an unknown period of time, the young man's soul started getting bored again.
"Okay, when is this dark path going to come to an end?!"
Just as the young man was being dragged along and about to lose his mind...
He noticed a crack in the void ahead of him, a bit of light seeping through from it.
"Well don't know where that leads, but at least it seems better than this seemingly endless path and luckily I can now control my movements a bit after such a long time in here"
"It seems quite reckless though"
"But if I stay here a little longer I might go crazy"
"I hope my phone broke when I was hit, otherwise....my search history!"
"Oh well, I'm dead anyway so what have I got to lose, plus who knows if I'll ever get out of here, I'm jumping!"
After such a long time in solitude, moving forward in lightless and endedless void. The young man was really starting to lose his mind. But luckily for him, he made up his mind before he passed by the crack in the void.
And so with the little control he now had over his soul, which was in the form of a silver sphere...the young man suddenly veered from the path and aimed at the crack.
He only perceived blinding light(since one can't "see" without eyes) in front of him, then felt like he crashed into something.
Then, unbelievable pain rocked his consciousness to the point that he couldn't help but cry out....
.....
On the same day in another world, on the continent of Aphrica.
A woman could be seen running through a tunnel holding a baby in her arms.
An ominously dark aura visibly radiating from her body. She looked like she was tired and in a lot of pain.
Yet she kept on pushing forward, holding the baby tightly within her warm embrace.
After closely observing the baby, one could notice that it was also radiating a dark aura.
And it seemed to be even darker than the lady's. Logic dictates that the baby should be crying in pain, but oddly its black eyes just blankly looked forward, not even blinking.
Looking at those eyes, one can't help but think of an empty vessel.
About an hour later, the lady seemed to have reached the end of the tunnel.
There was an obsidian metal door at the end of it. It seemed to be made from a material that blocks magic from leaking through...like the walls of the tunnel. From this one could infer that this was likely a secret tunnel made with the intention of travelling undetected.
She fumbles a bit while trying to unlock the door with her weak hand which took effort to even hold up.
As soon as the door is open, a middle aged man sitting on a chair, infront of a cabin could be seen.
The cabin seemed to be on a mountain surrounded by a large forest. This meant that the tunnel went through the mountain toward the cabin.
The middle aged man had silver hair and eyes, wearing red robes that seemed to be of a high quality.
He seemed to have been stuck in thought while looking in the direction of the tunnel.
So when the lady opened the door which had been covered up by some sort of illusion magic before being opened he quickly noticed her.
"GRACE!!!"
His eyes widened greatly, he disappeared from where he was sitting, appearing in front of the lady after screaming out her name.
"Our baby....".
As soon as the lady was held by him she lost all her strength, or more precisely, her adrenaline ran out.
She fell into his arms after saying that one statement and fainted.
"Grace!"
"Wake up Grace"
"What happened?!"
"What's wrong with the bab..."
Before he could finish his statement he noticed something when he looked at the baby.
He quickly took the lady into the little cabin and laid her on the bed. Then took a close look at the baby again.
"My son... his soul!!"
"What have they done to my child!!"
"They destroyed his soul!!"
"I'll kill them!, I'll kill them all!!"
That's right, it seemed the dark aura radiating from the baby was from a curse that destroys souls.
"They dare do this to my wife and child!"
"Today I'll remind them why I am called Igneel The Emperor Dragon of Destruction!!"
As the middle aged man spoke, an aura that made every beast in the Great Forest tremble radiated from his body.
"No...don't do it, you...promised"
"My ba...by"
Grace who had lost consciousness managed to wake up on time to stop him from the rampage he was about to carry out. Though she fainted again after mentioning the baby.
Igneel managed to suppress his rage after realising that it wasn't the time for such things anyway. And on top of it, he has sworn an oath to the heavens to not attack the humans as long as they didn't attack his forest.
He then called over a subordinate that specialised in healing...but even that seemed to be useless. It didn't change the situation of either Grace or the baby.
If the subordinate didn't at least guarantee that Grace wouldn't die, then not even his oath that could take his life would have stopped him from wiping out the humans.
After the subordinate hurriedly left, Igneel goes out of the cabin holding his son in his hands and looks at the sky.
"Heavens!, is this what you have decided!!"
"Is this all that my wife's belief amounts to, not even enough to save our child?". Igneel slowly says with tears in his eyes.
"Please give me back my son, if not for me, for Grace then, she won't be able to continue leaving like this!"
"Plea..."
Just as Igneel was expressing his sorrow in a way he never thought he'd ever do.
A crack appeared in the sky above him and a silver orb fell out.
Before he could even make sense of what was happening, the orb which was only fist sized crushed into the baby he was holding, and disappeared into its tiny body.
"Mmwaar mmwaar mmwaar!"
For the first time since the baby came with his wife, it cried.
And the dark aura radiating from it seemed to also have vanished.
