Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Past Misery

Lovie heard her father say that he gave her mother drugs that caused her to bleed excessively after giving birth to her, and he hates her because she is not his child in the first place. The only reason he did not kill her in her cradle was because her mother gave Lovie thirty percent of the company, which she will be able to manage once she is eighteen.

Lovie went in to confront them because she was so furious, and they looked at her like she was a fool and showed no remorse.

"Your mother expects me to give everything I worked for to you, this bastard child; how dare your mother transfer 30 percent share to you?" Lovie said in response to her question about why her father did all of that and whether it is improper for a mother to want to leave a way out for her child.

Lovie was so stunned that she bemoaned human avarice, claiming that everything he claimed to have toiled for was actually her mother's. When Lovie told him that she was leaving the house and didn't want to see him any longer, he responded, "You think you can leave? What a stupid child."

When he declared that he wanted Lovie to wed the useless son of the Thovoethin family, Lovie became furious and questioned her father whether he was aware that the useless guy had defrauded his former wife before their divorce. "I will never marry him."

He merely chuckled before throwing some photos at Lovie, who noticed that they showed her being harmed by the three villains. According to her father, she is already ruined, so why did she still give a damn about the kind of guy she would marry?

Tears streamed down Lovie's face as she exclaimed, "I thought you destroyed those pictures and videos, dad. Why are you doing this to me?" Her father simply smiled and asked why he would trash the things he had worked so hard to acquire. Lovie was so taken aback that she said, "I will never forgive you because you are the one who hired those people to hurt me." Then her father told her that it was her stepmother who actually hired them, and he just defrauded her of her money.

That day, she felt as though she had nothing left to live for, and because of those photos, she had no choice but to marry that worthless son.

Her father decided to leave Lovie with no way out of her misery, even in marriage, by telling her mother-in-law that she had money and that she was a writer. He told her mother-in-law that a daughter-in-law's income should be managed by the mother-in-law, so if she earned any money from writing, her mother-in-law should collect the money from her and manage it however she pleases.

After getting married, Lovie's mother-in-law would ask her for money every three days, and if she refused, her husband would beat her until she was unable to move from her bed. She was living like a living dead in that house, doing all the housework and still having to work to support the family despite the constant beating. She lived like that for six years before she passed away on the road while delivering food to that bloodsucking family.

Lovie finds it hard to believe that was how she spent her life and feels so pathetic, but now that she has another chance to live her life again, she will hold those responsible for making it so difficult for her to live accountable. She made the decision to stop being as foolish as she had been in her

previous existence.

"So yesterday was the birthday, which means I've already told them about my profession; then I will have to play along with them," Lovie said, getting up to take another look around the room and discovering the outfit she had worn for her eighteenth birthday in her closet. "How can I not return the favor since they want to ruin me by letting me get ra**d by some men?" She gave a sly smile.

Lovie pulled out her diary and jotted down her life's goals. She stated that her first goal is to attend college because her father does not want to cover her tuition costs since she completed high school. Lovie chose to reread the high school curriculum because she used to detest it and always felt drowsy when she pulled out her school books to read. As a result, she always came last in her class. She also chose to retake the text that will be used to admit her to the university, and the test is in about five months.

The housekeeper knocked on her room door and said, " Lovie, breakfast is ready and your dad is waiting for you downstairs," she turned around and walked away before she could respond. Lovie grinned to herself and pondered how she could have been so foolish in a previous life, as even the housekeeper showed no respect for her. It's okay, though, since she will prepare her retaliation on everyone in this house and deliver it cold.

She stood up and went downstairs to the dining area, Her dad looked up to stare at her and greeted her with a smile that's not a smile, " Good morning Lovie, hope u slept well". Lovie gave him the most stunning smile she could muster and Said " I slept well dad". This will be the last time you people will have any peace of mind in this house, may the best schemer win, Lovie thought to herself.
