Chapter 1 - Call of Duty

The land of Eryndor is a diverse and mystical realm, graced with soaring mountains, dense forests, cascading rivers, and ancient ruins. Magic flows through its veins, particularly in places of natural beauty, where elemental powers are strongest.

Eryndor is home to six elemental clans, each wielding control over a specific natural element. These clans have long maintained a fragile peace, avoiding interference with one another. For generations, this balance has preserved harmony across the land. However, in recent days, strange and catastrophic events—sudden earthquakes, unseasonal storms, torrential rains, and wildfires—have erupted across the country. These disasters are acting like sparks, threatening to ignite conflicts between the clans.

Tensions are rising. The Fire Clan and the Water Clan blame each other for the calamities. Similarly, the Light Clan and the Dark Clan are locked in mutual suspicion. The Earth Clan and the Air Clan, though initially neutral, are reluctantly being drawn into the turmoil.

Amidst this growing discord is Esmerai, known as The Oracle, the mystical guardian of Eryndor's harmony. Her origins remain a mystery, but her wisdom and counsel have guided kings for centuries. Oracle is tall and ageless, her milky white eyes seeming to reflect the void of time itself. She dresses in flowing robes that shimmer like moonlight, and a faint aura of light and shadow swirls around her. Calm, enigmatic, and wise, she resides in the Oracle's Grove, near the River Konga, on the eastern border of the Aqual District, home of the Water Clan and centrally located within the country.

At the grove, six elemental stones—each representing a clan—are kept in balance. But recently, the stones have become unstable, threatening to unleash devastation across Eryndor. Concerned by these ominous signs, Oracle has called for an emergency meeting in the central hall of Aqual. The kings of all six clans are summoned to attend.

The Fire King, ruler of Pyros in the northwest, is a towering figure with fiery red hair flowing like living flames and molten-gold eyes that burn with intensity. His presence radiates warmth and danger in equal measure. Known for his volatile temper, he values loyalty and courage above all else.

The Water King, of Aqual in the east-central region, has silvery-blue hair that flows like gentle waves, and his eyes shimmer like deep ocean pools. He is calm and composed, dressed in robes resembling cascading water.

The Air King, from Altura, a mountain district in the east, is a free spirit. His silver hair and piercing gray eyes reflect his belief in freedom and clarity. His footsteps leave no trace, a testament to his ephemeral nature.

The Earth King, ruler of the western caves and forests, is a massive figure with skin resembling rough stone and moss. His glowing emerald-green eyes convey ancient wisdom. Patient and grounded, he is slow to anger but unstoppable when provoked.

The Light King, from Luxon in the southwest, radiates an ethereal glow. His golden hair shines like sunlight, and his eyes carry a gentle yet powerful brilliance. Wise and nurturing, he is resolute when protecting the innocent.

The Dark King, ruler of Umbra in the southeast, is enigmatic and solemn. His deep black hair and piercing violet eyes seem to hold the secrets of the universe. Though intimidating in appearance, he is thoughtful and protective, believing in the balance between light and dark.

The grand conference hall in Aqual is a majestic structure of glass and steel, humming with purpose. Inside, its soaring ceilings and polished marble floors reflect the gravity of countless pivotal decisions made within its walls. Outside, security for each king is impenetrable.

When all the kings are seated, Oracle begins the meeting.

"Let us maintain peace, both in this hall and across Eryndor," she says, her voice steady. "I know tensions are high, but we must resolve this together. First, let us discuss the strange events occurring in your lands."

The Fire King speaks first. "Near Kuroki village, a strange, wild beast was seen, followed by a sudden avalanche yesterday."

"Earthquakes have become increasingly common in our district," adds the Earth King.

"Unsettling sounds are emanating from Altura volcano," says the Air King. "Even though it's been dormant for centuries, something feels...wrong."

"In the caves near our borders, dark spirits have appeared," reports the Dark King, his tone grave.

The Light King interjects, his voice sharp. "Those same dark spirits are now encroaching upon Luxon. I suspect this is the Dark King's doing!"

"How dare you accuse me?" the Dark King retorts, his voice rising.

The Fire King joins in, directing his anger at the Water King. "The Ango River, flowing from Aqual, has been blocked. My people in Pyros are dying of thirst. This must be your doing!"

The Water King shakes his head calmly. "The river's obstruction was caused by the tectonic shift from a massive earthquake. Don't make baseless accusations."

"Enough!" Oracle's voice cuts through the rising tension. "This is not the doing of any of us. The imbalance of the elemental stones signals a far graver threat. I believe... they have returned."

The room falls silent. Eyes widen in shock.

"Are you certain?" the Dark King asks, his voice low and tense.

"I cannot confirm it yet," Oracle replies, "but we must act. I am forming a team—Team Elemental—comprising one representative from each clan. These individuals will unite to protect Eryndor. I will now announce their names."

The kings nod, reluctantly agreeing.

"From the Fire Clan: Kael," Oracle begins. The Fire King smirks with pride.

"From the Water Clan: Lira.

From the Air Clan: Orion.

From the Dark Clan: Zara.

From the Light Clan: Alara.

From the Earth Clan: Lyra.

"It is your responsibility," Oracle continues, "to ensure these chosen ones arrive at the Oracle's Grove within five days. This is a call to duty. Dismissed."

...

With the meeting concluded, the kings depart, burdened by the task ahead. The fate of Eryndor now rests on the shoulders of the chosen six.
