The demons all stared in shock at where Elias had just been, before quickly being wisted away by-
"WHAT HAPPENED HERE?" A furious voice bellowed, and the head of the weakest scientist exploded almost instantly.
Standing in the entry way to the conversion chamber were 5 figures. Three of them were males, while two were female, and all of them bore the power of a demon lord. The one who bellowed was the strongest of them all, Lord Carrnate. He was basically a big red slab of demonic muscle, with a neatly trimmed black beard, and short spikey hair.
One of the females, Lady Melendria, rushed forward.
"NO!" She yelled, her voice dropping the remaining scientists to hands and knees.
The skinny demon in front gulped. It was one thing for someone's lover to be dead on the ground in front of them, it was another altogether for that angry person to be one of the most powerful demons in the realm. She stumbled and fell to her knees in front of Moraxus's corpse, and tears of blood fountained from her eyes. She just rested her hands on his dead chest, before shouting up the sky, and another demonic head burst. That was certainly happening a lot today.
"TELL ME WHO DID THIS SO I CAN RIP THEM IN HALF!" Melendria yelled, her voice cracking with rage and grief.
When no one answered, she shot to her feet, and grabbed skinny by the throat.
"ANSWER ME!" She shouted in his face, and he sputtered his reply.
"I-i-it was someone he picked up and tried to convert... it wasn't supposed to happen like this. It changed the man but..."
"BUT WHAT?" She snarled, and skinny almost passed out from the power she was exuding.
"He was changed... but not fully. He gained the powers of a demon lord, while also keeping his humanity. He was... a true monster."
"And where is he?" She asked, now more calm, and honestly, it was more terrifying than when she was angry.
"King Lucifer showed up, and took him."
Melendria dropped the demon, sagged, and then went back over to Moraxus's body. She began to sob, and the only thing keeping her from destroying everything in her surroundings was the fact that Lucifer felt the need to personally deal with this person. She took some solace in the fact that he would be punished, but she couldn't help but wish she could break him with her own hands.
"This quite concerning. For someone do that to Moraxus... hmm." A dignified looking pretty boy of a demon said to another.
This was Lord Gaznul, and the man he was speaking to was Lord Kazurek. They were both just behind Melendria in power, with Carrnate being leagues above any of them.
"If our King is dealing with him, we need not worry." Kazurek said, waving it off.
The final one, the weakest of them, but by no means was powerless, was Riandra. She did have time on most of them, having been demonized long ago. She just surveyed the scene, and while she had different opinions on the matter, she knew better than to voice them aloud. Her greatest strength, which was even greater then her peers, was sensing power levels. She did not mention that the power she felt was on par, if not greater then Lucifer and Lillith.
Plus, she kinda got a kick out of the while thing.
"Good riddance. The slimey bastard." She thought.
Her views of her peers and that of the other demons was very different, yet she didn't understand how or why. She was a demon, that was for sure, but she harbored no love for her own kind. If she was being honest, the things they all did disgusted her. She didn't like hurting or really fighting in general. She was once human, just like the rest of them, and she didn't wish that pain on anyone else.
"Maybe... could he change things?" Was her thought.
Elias spun around as he feet touched the floor, and he threw a punch at the person who had grabbed him. The man knocked his blow aside but winced as he shook his hand.
"Ouch. I do like it rough, but we barely know each other." The man said with a cheeky grin.
Elias was so thrown off by that line that he just stared in confusion for a moment.
"What?" The man asked.
"Who the hell are you?" Elias asked, regaining himself.
"Who the hell indeed." The man said, his arms outstretched to his sides.
This let Elias get a better look at him. He was taller than average, but now taller than Elias. He had short black hair that was expertly slicked back, giving him a slimey appearance. He had blood red eyes that stared not just at Elias, but seemed to look right into his soul. He was clearly a demon, given the horns on his head, but he did note that all of the demons he had seen thus far all had yellow, amber colored eyes. His whole ensemble was all brought together by his perfectly tailored black suit and tie.
"Lucifer Morningstar, at your service." Lucifer said with a weirdly genuine smile.
Elias immediately went on the defensive, putting his hands up in a fighting gesture.
"You're the one who brought me here!" Elias said, and Lucifer actually looked apologetic.
"No. Not me, that was the guy you killed. Great job, by the way. Dude was a real asshole. What he said abouf your sister... I wanted to kill him myself. That's not what we should be like." Lucifer replied, and Elias actually lowered his arms as he contemplated those words.
He didn't know how or why, but he got the feeling that Lucifer was telling the truth, and he seemed sincere. This was weird.
"Don't look so confused. I would have killed him myself if I could. Moraxus got what he deserved, and you no doubt would have killed the others if I hadn't grabbed you." Lucifer said.
"If you don't like them, then why did you stop me? And why do you let them do whatever they want?" Elias asked.
Lucifer sighed, and then sat down on a chair that wasn't there a second ago. He gestured for Elias to do the same, and when Elias looked, a similar chair was right behind him.
"Neat trick." Elias said, but said fuck it and sat down.
He didn't trust this guy as far as he could throw him, but at the same time, he didn't seem malicious at all. If anything, he was just fucking weird.
"Look, the only reason I did that was to avoid having to tell my wife that someone killed six demon lords. Just the only will be bad enough." Lucifer replied.
He seemed to be having a small migrane, then just chuckled, and gave a devilish grin. Seemed to pretty fitting to Elias.
"Me? Do I care? Nah, Moraxus was a dick. He did some truly heinous things. Well, he won't be doing them anymore at least. To be honest, you could've killed the lot of them and I wouldn't have lost any sleep. At least, most of them. Riandra is a good one I think. She only gathers those of truly unsightly behavior." Lucifer said, then frowned. He looked like he just caught the sudden smell of shit.
"Moraxus was one of hers, and with a soul as twisted as his one, it was no wonder that he grew to far outclass all of the others as a demon. Well, except for Carrnate, but he is a different story all together, but I won't get into that with you."
"Why are you telling me all of this?" Elias asked, and he wasn't asking to be a dick.
He truly wanted to know, as so far, this guy had done nothing but just talk and basically tell him his life story. It was like he was talking to him as if they were long lost best friends. Elias was sure he would have been aware if he had ever made friends with goddamn Satan of all beings.
Lucifer looked at him for a moment, and then smiled.
"Lock yourself in kid. Next chapter is gonna be a lot of me flapping my gums." He replied, and Elias just blinked in confusion.
"What?"
