The Immortal King sat in his work space, and he actually groaned at referring to himself like that. That name stuck because... well, he was a king. Long, long ago. He was a king for over 300 years in a hidden city in the southern continent. He got the name simply because he was a king, and he didn't age. He still didn't like it.
"I wished people would just call me Ricard." He said, for that was his name.
Ricard... Kingsley.
He groaned again. It was going to be a long day, wasn't it? His thoughts were brought back to what he was doing, and he almost punched himself for getting distracted over something so stupid when something important ate away at him.
"Where have you gone babygirl?" He asked, worrying now etching his face.
His daughter, his entire world, well besides his wife, was missing for about 3 days now. Of course, they got into an argument because teenage hormones just made sense. She was turning 18 soon, so hopefully that side of her would disappear soon. If he found her that is.
All he did was try to ensure her safety by making sure she was being watched over at all times of the day. Was that so wrong?
"The strongest hero in the world my fucking ass. I can't even find my own child!" He yelled, smashing his fist down on his desk.
Goddamnit, now he needed another one. Still, Becca ran away from home many times, but she always came home. Something was different this time. Something was very wrong, and he needed to find her quickly. Unfortunately, he still had his hero duties to fulfill as well. It was infuriating, especially from the point of view of a father. He wanted to be out there tearinf apart the city, but he couldn't very well do that.
The door to his office burst open. Ricard almost fell out of his chair.
"Holy hell! Sabrina, I won't be able to save the city if I die from a heart attack!" He said, breathing heavily.
Having your wife as your assistant was nice, and especially some days, it was really, really nice. As an immortal powered herself, she was the picture of young beauty, just like the day he met her.
"You need to turn on channel 13 right now!" She said hurriedly.
"The news channel?" He asked, and ahe nodded quickly.
"It's a live feed, and well... you need to see it. Also..." She said, then she said the next part more slowly.
As he grabbed for his remote control, her a pained shake of his head. Her eyes welled up with tears.
"Oh god... where is she?" His wife cried, and just as quickly as a gust of wind, he was there, wrapping his arms around her.
"I WILL find her. I promise." He said, and she nodded into his chest. His shirt was growing damp.
He brought her with him, and he held her as she sat on his lap. God, he loved this woman. He once again grabbed the remove, and turned on his office TV, and flicked it to channel 13. It only took a few seconds before he cursed.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING?" Ricard roared. Sabrina winced and the windows in his office shattered.
Immediately, the live footage started off with Titan Fist looking like a pissed off 10th grader, and then he sent a pull powered punch at the man in front of him. The key thing to point out was that the man in question did not make one move against Titan Fist. Sabrina gasped.
Then, they both stared in stunned silence, as Titan Fist's full powered much did jackshit to the man he hit.
"What the..." Sabrina whispered.
"He just took Titan's punch head on. That would sting even for me." Ricard said.
The man looked back, but not at the camera, but at the female reporter.
"You both saw that, right? He just tried to kill me. If I'm not mistaken, trying to kill someone who hasn't made a violent move on you is far more strict for powered people, right?" The man asked, and to Ricard's surprised, he seemed completely unphased by what just happened.
The female reporter seemed to not be able to speak for a moment, but then she answered him.
"Y-yes. For a Hero that is A rank or greater, the punishment for such actions can be as high as... death." The woman said, and she seemed afraid to even admit that much.
She was not wrong though, and Ricard got a bad feeling seeing the grin on the man's face.
Some more words were exchanged between Titan Fist and this strange man, and Ricard saw something on Titan's face that he thought he'd never see from the huge man. Fear.
It happened as suddenly as a swift wind carrying a scent through the air. Being as strong as he was, Ricard sucked in the breath as the punch went for Titan Fist's head. Reality itself had distorted, so brief that most would have missed it.
Sabrina gasped, and Ricard swore as the punch connected, and Titan Fist's head erupted in a shower of gore.
"What in the holy hells?" Ricard asked, looking at the man who killed Titan Fist effortlessly.
Titan Fist didn't even bother watching the rest. He activated a ring on his pointer finger, and his golden suit appeared on his body. It had a crown, and was expertly crafted gold woth white filigree. It was guady, and ostentatious, and Ricard didn't much care for it. That being said, he had an obligation as a hero to present himself in such a manner for the people who relied on him for his protection.
"I need to get there, now." Ricard said, and his wife surprised him.
"I'm going with you." She said, and while Ricard wanted to object, she continued, "My intuition is telling me this is important. I can feel it. I have to go. Rebecca is involved somehow. I don't know how, but I just know it."
Ricard had nothing to say to that. Her power of immortality was second only to her incredible intuition, although it was not just free information, like a farseer for example. Hell, even farseer's could only see possible futures, not what actually happened. Sabriba's power needed a reason, or an event related to what she was fixating on to occur before it activated. Besides that though, he trusted her completely, especially when it came to their daughter, and if she said she was involved, he believed her without question.
"Fine. But, stay behind me. I don't know what's going on, but we are going to find out." Ricard said.
Sabrina gave the man she loved a brilliant smile. Even if she didn't have a reason, he would still let her come after some prodding. He never told her what she should or shouldn't do. He let her make her own choices, as any good husband should do.
Once they were ready, Ricard hoisted her into a princess carry, and he jumped out the window, and his power of flight had them racing across the skies. She buried her face into his chest. It was warm, and comforting, but she also hated heights. Add to the fact that they were flying at well over 70mph, and she was pretty fucking scared.
Back at Bulwark's home, Elias went to the front door of the douchebag's mansion, and when the door didn't open from normal means, he just kicked it. Unfortunately, it didn't fly of the hinges like he expected, but instead, his leg went right through it and got stuck.
"Shit." Elias said, and he yanked his foot back out.
Instead, he dug his fingers into the outer edges of the wooden frame, and tore it free. Some fucking how, the people inside seemed to not even hear his fight with Titan Fist, but they were sure to hear this. Actually, as he threw the door to the side, he found that not only did they hear it, but they clearly saw it too.
4 guards raced towards the door.
"STOP! This is private property! Who the fuck do you think-" The lead guard said, and Elias slapped him so hard he went spinning through the air, into the wall, and crashed through it, landing in the grass outside.
"Shut the fuck up, and tell me where Tiana Mason is, or else that will be you." Elias said, gesturing towards the man he bitch slapped.
The men stared in shock, then gasped as they stared past him, and saw Titan Fist's headless corpse.
"Yeah, he didn't tell me what I wanted to know either."
Elias smelled piss.
