"Why did you have to stop them?" Madeline tugged at his sleeves while she asked him with a forced smile which went unnoticed by Edward.
"I just wanted to show him who was the top brother, he might be the Crown Prince, but the fact remains that I am the first son, if he ends up dying, wouldn't the crown be returned to me as it is tradition?" Edward explained to her.
And although, his words made sense, it would be horrible if someone heard him. If anything were to happen to Ethan, he would be the first suspect.
"Edward, lower your voice, what if someone heard what you said? What will be your response?" Madeline asked with her voice lowered.
She was annoyed at the level of foolishness her so-called fiancée displayed. At the end of the day, not everyone could be Prince Ethan.
Perhaps, at Madeline's reminder, Edward finally realized that his words could actually put him into trouble.
