Ethan swallowed. Although, he didn't plan for anything to happen between them, he only wanted to cuddle her as it has been a long time since he has been able to do so.
But now, it is believed that it is wrong for a man and a woman to sleep on the same bed when the female is on her monthly flow.

"I'm sorry," Adelaide apologized.
Her monthly flow started just after the race, and thanks to the maids, they were able to clean her up. She had been unable to inform Ethan since they had been occupied with numerous things.
"You don't need to be sorry, I will sleep in the other room," Ethan forced a smile, before picking up some bed coverings, and leaving the room for Adelaide who had a look of disappointment due to his exit.
