Adelaide lowered her head while trying secretly to wipe her eyes.
"It isn't your fault, you had no idea about me then," Adelaide stated with an indifferent tone which scared Ethan. He feared that he may lose her.
"Adelaide," he called out, and he was unable to tell her what he wanted to say as he was tongue-tied.
"I'm hungry, can I please have something to eat?" Adelaide changed the topic at once.
She would rather not talk about the topic anymore. Anytime she remembers the lives which were lost due to the war, her heart bled. Perhaps, she was traumatized, or maybe, she took those soldiers as her family.
No one knew exactly what was going on in her mind, but she didn't want to bother about it anymore.
Ethan looked at the lady who had changed the topic, and he realized that she didn't want to say anything about the earlier issue. Hence, it was best that he did the same.
