Nobody would ever think their own kin would lead them to the deepest of despair but it was a reality for Elana Riker. Her naive mistakes had led to a life full of unbearable tortures.
Being raised in a sheltered environment, she trusted anyone who showed her a shred of kindness and especially her elder sister Tanny. Tanny and Elana were half sisters, but they were closer than any biological siblings.
They were so close that when Tanny accidentally killed someone, Elana took the fall for it without even questioning it. She couldn't bear to see her elder sister suffer especially with Tanny being pregnant.
Elana spent 6 years in jail but soon after her sentencing she found out the truth about her dear old sister. Tanny only visited her once right after her imprisonment, gloating how far Dad's favorite daughter had fallen.
"How does it feel Elana to be this naively stupid?" Tanny smirked.
Elana looked confused, not understanding why her sister, whose voice has always seemed so warm, sounded so hideously cold right now.
"You still don't understand, do you? To put it bluntly Ela, I have won and you and your mother have lost." She grinned viciously, even her eyes reflected the glee she felt.
Elana couldn't even comprehend what was happening as she looked at a stranger who looked so familiar yet so distant.
Looking at her stupefied face, Tanny felt delirious with joy. She then proceeded to tell Elana how she faked her pregnancy to make Elana take the fall for her. How everything had been meticulously planned for her to fall in this hell.
"Oh by the way your mother had a stroke hearing how her precious daughter had ended up in prison for 6 years and with you being here, Riker corporation is mine." Tanny chuckled derisively.
"Wh…why would you?" Elana looked pale, she couldn't process as her entire world seemed to crash. She had been happy before that even in this desolate place she would get to see Tanny today and it was all worth it.
"Why do you think 'little princess', everyone has cherished you since the day you were born. Even though I am older than you, you were named the heir while I was to be married off. Now everything of yours is mine." The always gentle Tanny looked cold and ugly as she ruthlessly destroyed the entire Riker family with one shot.
Edward Riker, their father couldn't handle the shame of having his beloved daughter go to jail and died by overdosing on sleeping pills, whereas Irene Riker, Elana's mother was stuck in a vegetative state.
Elana's eyes were bloodshot, tears flowing on her face making her look extremely breathtaking and pitiful but there was no pity in Tanny. She had always hated how beautiful Elana was.
Tanny left the devastated Elana there and practically skipped out of the prison.
The next 6 years were hell for Elana, but she survived and strived day by day. She changed, matured suddenly and was no longer the kid everyone protected. In the long years in prison, no one visited her showing her just how alone she was.
Tanny had manipulated her all her life, isolating her from anyone good and made sure Elana was surrounded by leeches. Elana had to grow up because for the first time in her life she needed something more than ever… Revenge.
It was just 2 days left for her release when she was suddenly surrounded by some inmates in the bathroom and she was stabbed mercilessly multiple times and left there to bleed out. The leader of the group smirked at her and told her Tanny said hello.
As the light left Elana's eyes, the need for vengeance just grew. She didn't want it all to end just like this, she needed her revenge as an unfair darkness surrounded her.
