Elana had spent years thinking about everything that had happened in her life. After she stopped trusting Tanny so much she finally analyzed every interaction and incident of her life.
Prison is the perfect for reflections after all with all the time staying locked up and not having much to do. Elana was actually really smart and after she let go of the rose colored glasses, she could see just how deeply she had been manipulated.
Elana smiled at Tanny, "Thank you Tanny, you are so good to me."
There was a cold glint in her eyes that no one noticed. Both sisters smiled at each other but held nothing but disdain for each other in their hearts.
"Okay go freshen up and have your breakfast. It's a special day after all." Irene said as she kissed the head of her beloved daughter.
Elana smiled widely. She already knew what day it was and the drama that was awaiting her but this time she would change things and let these leeches have a taste of their own medicine. She genuinely felt happy thinking how her revenge was going to start that she didn't even have to fake a smile to deceive Tanny.
Today was supposed to be her engagement with Jason Robinson. They hadn't been dating long but Elana had fallen too deeply for his charm. Even though her parents didn't think Jason was good enough they had agreed for Elana's sake.
Also Jason and Tanny were classmates and Tanny had vouched for him. She was how Elana and Jason had met in the first place and fallen in "love".
In reality Jason and Tanny were involved and had planned all this to humiliate Elana. Previously on this day, someone had drugged her at the party making her seem drunk and disoriented and when she got on stage, as she stumbled, her strapless dress fell letting everyone look at her naked body.
It had been a huge scandal and traumatized Elana badly. The Robinson family had broken the engagement stating they couldn't let such a girl in their family.
Everyone had thought Elana was drunk, and she tripped on her dress making it fall off. Elana had been thoroughly embarrassed not noticing it was Tanny who had started that narrative.
Living in a society where your reputation matters everything, Elana was destroyed in the upper crust and her parents devastated. To save the remaining reputation of the family and not to get the Robinsons to retaliate, Tanny got engaged to Jason instead.
Jason didn't say no either and Elana had felt guilty about it. She had felt sorry for her sister thinking she would be in a loveless marriage because of her. It was clear to her much later that this was all a scheme of Tanny.
Jason's lack of reluctance towards Tanny showed Elana that they might have been involved in this insipid scheme. Elana was going to play them and destroy them.
Elana needed something big to oust Tanny from her home and a reason to keep her away from herself without making people think she had lost her mind. She couldn't expose her on something small or Tanny would use it to play victim instead.
Elana was eager for the show to start, she kissed Irene on her cheek and told them she was going to go freshen up and she would see them both later.
"Mom I am a bit nervous and I need some alone time to process such a big day. Can I get ready alone and see you and Tanny later at the party?" Elana pouted at her mother making a baby face.
Irene chuckled and pinched Elana's cheeks and agreed. "Take your time baby, the stylists and the makeup artist will come around noon so you can relax until then. If you need anything, call us."
"Yes mom." Elana agreed and nodded her head like a baby. She always was a child around people she trusted.
Tanny smiled and left the room busy with the preparations tonight. She had a lot to do for tonight and with all that on her mind she hadn't noticed how different Elana had been towards her.
The usual clingy Elana would have never asked Tanny to leave her alone but Tanny had too much confidence in the brainwashing she had done on Elana so she didn't think twice about the changes.
