Time spun back and Elana woke up with a start. She looked around and couldn't believe that she was in her room.
What happened? I thought I was dead. How, what's happening? She thought to herself.
Elana looked wide eyed like she was in a dream. She hadn't seen this room in 6 years and she never thought she would be able to again. She felt dazed.
She clenched her chest as she remembered the pain of being stabbed and bleeding out but she felt no pain right now.
She got up and looked into her dressing mirror, a beautiful girl stared back at her. She was curvy and her features looked exotic with her tanned glowing skin. There were no scars remnant of her stint in jail.
Her black hair looked shiny and healthy and her face still had the baby fat. With her chipmunk cheeks and big eyes, she looked untouched by the world.
What was happening? She wondered if everything was a dream but the pain was too real for it to be a dream. She saw her old phone beside her bed and as she checked it, the date that stared back at her was from 7 years back.
Did I somehow time travel? Shit am I in one of the novels about rebirth and time travel? Elana was utterly shocked and dropped on the bed processing everything.
If somehow I did travel back in time then there was time to prevent everything and I had time to stop Tanny. Although I have an advantage, Tanny is smart and knows me, I have to get out of her control first without tipping her off.
Elana couldn't waste the miraculous chance she got from the heavens and even though her head hurt she started to think about everything she needed to change and fast.
She was lost in everything when her bedroom door suddenly opened and Tanny and Irene walked into her room with Irene holding a tray full of Elana's favorite breakfast.
"Mom" Elana knew her mother would be fine now but seeing her after so long made her feel overwhelmed with relief. Her eyes turned red and glistened with unshed tears.
Irene looked startled seeing her darling daughter with tears as she quickly handed the breakfast to Tanny and rushed to Elana.
She took Elana's face in her hands and asked her what was wrong as Elana pounced and hugged her mother and let her tears finally fall.
Irene was worried as she saw her usually cheerful daughter sobbing like a toddler and tried to soothe her by patting her back.
"What's wrong baby, tell your mumma and she will do her best to solve whatever is bothering you." Irene patted Elana's head.
"I just had a nightmare and it was really scary. Sorry mom for scaring you." Elana wiped her eyes and held her mother's hand.
Tanny just stood by as Elana cried looking confused and when she heard that this brat had cried just because she saw a nightmare, she rolled her eyes internally.
As Elana stopped crying, Tanny came to her and patted her head, "It's okay, it was just a dream. No one can hurt our dear Ela with me here".
Elana scoffed in her head. Tanny was always like this, she did nothing while others were doing something and at the end she would pretend to be all caring and take the credit for others. I was truly blind.
