Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Many problems

Strengthening his body, Quintus smirked.

In the blink of an eye, he was behind one and pierced his body through.

There were a lot of knights.

Quintus began to kill one knight after another until he noticed that there seemed to be more knights than there were originally, though no one seemed to be coming to their aid.

Suddenly a knight was behind him. Quintus swung his elbow and hit him.

After the blow, the knight disappeared into smoke.

- Hehe... - Passed through the inside of Quintus' head.

Did someone else interfere in this battle!

Quintus stood still, unable to remember anything. The knights decided to take advantage of this and ran at him:

- Attack!

The knights' attack failed, as Quintus managed to jump quite high, eventually landing behind the knight's head.

Boom!

Some knight attacked and wounded Quintus' thigh.

The knights began to disperse, causing Quint to have to return to the ground to continue the battle.

It started out as 1 Quintus against 20 knights, now the Conrad Emperor was fighting against over 100 knights!

- Hehehehe... - Once again, someone's speech rushed through Quintus' head.

It was a woman's voice, so familiar, but at the same time, it was not clear whose.

Bit by bit, Quintus began to feel out of breath.

Would he really have to run away to survive?

There were so many knights that Quintus didn't know what to do. How do you fight off someone who dissolves into smoke when you try to hit him?!

- Run if you want to live. - said a woman's voice in Quintus' head.

Quintus didn't want to admit his defeat, because how could he, the great and unique Quintus Conrad lose to ordinary people?

Body enhancement is a temporary effect, after which a person unrealistically wants to sleep. The amplification effect has almost worn off, and his eyes are already closing.

So no matter how much he wanted to, he would have to run.

Quintus prepared himself and jumped very high. So high that he was able to jump over the wall.

After a good start, Quintus ran into the forest, worried that this horde might be running after him.

- Sis, where are you? - Shouted throughout the house Castor, looking for his sister.

She had recently told him to wait for her and just disappeared, running behind the wall.

Castor was getting more and more scared. It could be that his sister had been kidnapped. It had been a whole seven minutes!

Suddenly.

- Hey Castor, are you really scared?

Castor turned around and saw Alice, she had a smile on her face that put her brother at ease.

- Where have you been, sister Alice? - Castor asked, who had already calmed down.

- Oh, nothing, never mind. Brother, shall we go play?

- Of course, Sister Alice!

Castor ran and Alice slowly followed him.

The twins went outside and played a variety of games for a long time.

In the meantime, Quintus had already reached Glisha. He was very hungry.

When he entered the village, he saw no one:

- "Hey! Quickly come out of your houses! - shouted Quintus.

No one answered and no one came out in front of him.

Quintus got angry and walked towards the elder's house.

Upon reaching it, he opened it and shouted:

- Elder! Come out quickly!

No one came out or gave any sign.

This was beginning to frighten Quintus. The Elder almost never left the house, due to his age.

The abrupt disappearance of the entire village population, and Quintus wanted to eat and sleep. Such a combo didn't fit together at all.

His musings were interrupted by the murmuring of his stomach.

- Well, I'll find something to eat. - said Quintus, and suddenly he thought. - So, where is the food stored?

He walked around the village looking for food. But he couldn't find any.

In the end, Quintus decided to sleep first and then continue his search.

Quint went to Deguchi's house and lay down in his bed.

- Uh, wait a minute. So you're saying that because of some "Quintus Conrad" I'm going to suffer huge losses?! - shouted a man who looked like a very rich man.

- Y-yes... That's right. - replied the head of Tamarid City.

- Then compensate me for the moral damage! Pay me 1000 gold pieces! - shouted the rich man.

When Tamarid heard how much the merchant (the rich man) was asking for and realized that he would not be able to pay back such an amount, he replied:

- I am sorry, but you are asking for too high an amount. Let's settle for at least 200 gold pieces. - Tamarid tried to lower the price.

- How much?! 200 gold pieces?! Have you lost your nerve out there?! Have you forgotten how much money I've invested in your backwater?! - shouted the merchant at Tamarid.

- I'm sorry, but we don't have as much money as you are asking for. - Replied Tamarid, who kept trying to smile.

- I don't give a damn what your problems are! I demand my money back, or else... or I'll have to take more drastic measures. - the merchant continued to yell.

Tamarid fell silent.

- So, how long do I have to wait for the payment? - asked the arrogant merchant, realizing that he had gained the upper hand in their dialogue.

- Mr. Mikhail, I will repeat once again... We don't have that much money....

- That's right! We have a traders' meeting soon, I'll bring up the subject of invading your lands. Don't forget, no one's afraid of the Axels or your fucking half-collapsed empire anymore!

- - - - -

The continent of Sil is divided by 4 Empires and their vassals.

Centuries ago, the Ephatan Empire instilled fear in its neighbors, which caused everyone else to unite against it.

80 years ago, the Anti-Efatan Coalition defeated the Empire's army, forcing Charles VIII to capitulate. The Ephatan Empire was forced to pay reparations.

The population began to starve. Rebellions broke out. Civil war broke out. The once mighty empire fell into many pieces. The biggest one went to the Axel family, which is why they have the most neighbors with whom they wage war.

Axel County sends all of its forces to the war, so criminals rage within the county.

Tamarid sighed and replied:

- Mr. Mikhail, calm down, everything is fine. There is no need to bring up any such issues at the convocation. - Tamarid said.

- Oh, so you will give me my money back soon? - asked the merchant.

- How difficult it is to negotiate with him.... - thought the head of the city, but did not answer.
