Chapter 2 - One Man Army

Tayaire watched as three men charged him from the front as well as observing another four coming from his rear. Without any hesitation, one by one he took out the assailants with blinding speed, As if he was

teleporting from place to place in a moment. As the others was fighting Tayaire three others decided to plan a sneak attack seeing an opening in his defenses. Tayaire quickly appeared behind one of the men leaving them in shock as he put him down with a quick slash to his jugular. In a swift motion, Tayaire threw his Karambit towards another man the same as he practiced multiple times

beforehand with trees and wooden targets, hitting him directly in the center of his chest, Tightening his grip on the chain as the blade soared through the air. Once the Karambit made contact, Tayaire pulled the chain simultaneously pulling the man along with it, knocking him into a large tree. As Tayaire

retracted his blade his eyes glowed with a hue of purple, this was a clear sign of him using clairvoyance, an ability that allowed him to see several seconds into the near future. He had received a short vision of a man striking him down by delivering a devastating blow that had decapitated him on the spot.

Tayaire snapped out of his vision and blocked the man's sword with the chain only a few inches from his neck. At that moment Tayaire released a pulse of radiating energy from his body, the force blasting the man

and everyone within ten feet of him away causing them severe damages.

"Damn, if it wasn't for these abilities I would've been dead already." Tayaire said

catching his breath while replaying the past few minutes of the confrontation in his mind.

Tayaire abilities and control over Spiritual Energy was one of the reasons he was placed in such a high position among the others, Not to say he wasn't a skilled fighter. Tayaire was a master in both swordsmanship as well as several forms of martial arts, but his blessing of time manipulation had made

him a cut above the rest. At this point in the battle Tayaire has already taken out ten of the opposing enemies without the need to show his full potential and barely breaking a sweat.

"Something isn't adding up. Where's Kuma?"

Tayaire searched the remaining group for the man with silver hair, not noticing that the man

left the moment he got distracted fighting off the previous attackers.

"So that's what his plan was," Tayaire spoke furiously.

He lifted his hand in a open and stretched out position towards the remaining group of men thinking to himself.

"This ploy was just to get me away from the village and I clumsily fell for it."

An orb of energy formed at the base of Tayaire's palm causing the men to freeze with shock on their faces. The orb was a dense violet shade and slightly transparent, it was smaller than Tayaire's hand but still close to the size of a tennis ball.

"He's someone that's able to manipulate spiritual energy!" One of the men cried out trying to warn the rest of his group.

"This is going to cause me some drawbacks using this much spirit energy all at once." Tayaire said as he concentrated on his remaining energy, making The orb grow

twice in size.

The orb burst from Tayaire's hand creating a beam of light, bigger than a small townhome, wiping out everything in its path at light speed, leaving behind a crater rushing towards the group of enemies.

The energy wave delivered by Tayaire's hands was a basic attack used by those able to manipulate spiritual energy, but due to the amount of energy he had used, it had caused devastating damages to say the least.

"Hopefully that will be enough so that I can get back before anything else goes wrong." Tayaire stood tired and out of breath, grabbing the left side of his chest.

The output of his attack was over that of what he thought it would be, but he thought it was worth it if he could finish the battle before it dragged on any longer. The rapid depletion of energy caused Tayaire to lose balance and

fall to one knee, it had took a huge toll on his body leaving him with very little left in the tank.

As Tayaire looked at his surroundings he noticed just how much damage was created by his blast, there was a huge canyon several miles deep filled with debris. The surrounding sight would have been surprising to onlookers as they would see multiple human bodies and trees that were fully detached from the ground, the landscape was in tethers and barely holding together.

"Hmmm, that's unsettling." Tayaire said as he could see a dome glowing a bright shade of green in the center of the crater.

"I guess you guys have more fight in you then I gave you credit for." He said as he pulled the

sword from his right shoulder, surprised that even one member of the group was still hanging on to their life. The small sword was one like no one has ever seen before, It was solid black in color except for the hilt and markings on the blade which both glowed in a bright violet color once it touched his hands.

"I guess that my dreams of ending this battle in one move won't come true after all."

Tayaire put away his chained karambit then placed both of his hands on his sword as he began to focus on the blade.

"Looks like I can't afford to continue to hold back either." He spoke disheartening.

The dome began to dissipate, beginning from the center of the top, falling slow like a veil to the surface. Four men could be seen as one

of the men flew out the top of the dome jacketed in a sky blue coat of energy as

he came aiming for Tayaire. Like a heat seeking missile the man was locked on

his target moving faster then any normal human's eye can see, observing any slight movement that might give him a clear opening. Noticing the man and his actions caused Tayaire to lose focus of his plan.

"Damn, these guys." Tayaire began to guard himself as he could see the man get within a close striking distance.

Tayaire swung his blade planning to knock the attack off target, but within a blink of the eyes the man altered his direction sending a quick slash towards Tayaire's abdomen.

Noticing his sword slashing nothing but air, Tayaire switched his position to block the deadly blow. As the two swords collided a loud clang sound could be heard sending ripples throughout the air and causing the ground beneath their feet to tremble.

"Looks like your not just fast, but you have some power to back it up I see." Tayaire spoke with a clear smile on his face, thinking to himself if this was a average one on one battle, he could actually take time out to see this opponent's full capabilities.

He summoned a small orb of energy in his free hand, but unlike last time, Tayaire suddenly just threw the orb into the man's side without charging it any further, sending him several yards in the direction that he came from.

"Return to sender!" Tayaire yelled as the man could be seen being caught by two of his allies that was directed by the third, who was assumed to be the leader of this small unit.

"Slick remarks will only be able to get you so far, Tayaire!" The leader said walking in a slow stride towards Tayaire wielding a long sword in one hand.

"Everyone stand back, he's my prey." He said in a taunt, waving in a gesture for Tayaire to move towards him.

While traveling through the forest making their way towards the sound of the horn, Lucus expressed his concerns of what could be the situation ahead.

"General, do you think that Noir's suspicions could be correct?" Lucas asked Mada as they jumped through the trees in a rush.

Mada responded. " In truth, i'm not sure, whether right or wrong Noir has always been the paranoid type and after hearing that horn…"

Mada pause mid sentence looking in a deadly gaze in front of them, his face full of worry. He instinctively came to a stop on a thick branch putting one finger up by his mouth that was covered with a cloth-like mask.

"we're being cornered from the north and the south." Mada said in a low but firm tone.

Lucus began to check his surroundings, but couldn't see nor hear signs of anyone.

"What do you mean?" Lucus asked, he was a beginner when it came to using spiritual energy, so sensing auras required him to be single minded, having full focus on one thing

at a time.

Mada responded, "I've been sensing a small aura following us every since we split with the others."

He continues noticing Lucus close his eyes to gain his concentration. "There are two possibilities of whom it might be, but I'm not sure on which it is."

Lucus began to understand Mada's reasoning and looked back.

"I see now, so it could either be the young heir, or someone concealing their power, But I don't see how that means we're being cornered." Lucus stated beginning to grab the large spear from his back.

"Keep focus and look ahead of us. There is also three more powerful auras zoning in on our location." Mada said pulling a small white marble from the pouch around his waist.

"Their moving fast Lucus. Get ready!"
