The sun was barely over the horizon when Deon was already wide awake, filled with a sense of purpose. The previous battles against the Barbarians had made one thing clear: his team needed a new addition, someone with strength, endurance, and the power to control the very ground beneath their feet. As powerful as Flame, Blaze, Aqualis, and Jolt were, they lacked the defensive capabilities that could turn the tide in longer battles.
"I need an earth-type beast," Deon muttered to himself as he gazed at a map spread out on his desk. His eyes were drawn to a distant, rugged area known as Cragstone Caverns. The caverns were notorious for being home to one of the most formidable earth-type creatures in the region—a beast called Terradon.
Flame, lounging by the window, perked up his ears. "You're thinking about getting a new teammate, aren't you?"
Deon nodded. "Yeah, I've been hearing about this Terradon. They say it's a massive earth beast with unparalleled defensive abilities. If we can catch it, our team would be unstoppable."
Blaze's eyes sparkled with excitement. "A new friend? Let's go get them! I can't wait to see how strong they are."
Aqualis rippled in agreement, while Jolt crackled with energy. "Finally, something to challenge us! I was starting to get bored around here," Jolt said, buzzing in the air.
Deon smiled, feeling the shared excitement of his companions. "Alright, team. Today, we're heading to Cragstone Caverns. Let's gear up!"
Deon wasted no time in preparing for the journey. He packed extra potions, food, and essential supplies. The caverns were known for being dangerous, filled with wild creatures and tricky terrain. But Deon was determined. With his loyal companions by his side, he felt ready for anything.
As they set out, the early morning mist clung to the ground, and the forest surrounding the city gradually gave way to rocky hills and steep cliffs. The air was crisp, filled with the scent of earth and moss. Deon led the way, using his map to navigate the winding paths that would lead them to the caverns.
"Do you think this Terradon will be tough to capture?" Aqualis asked, gliding beside Deon.
"I'd be disappointed if it wasn't," Deon replied with a grin. "We need a real challenge to push us to the next level."
Flame let out a low growl of agreement. "We've faced plenty of tough opponents, but something tells me this Terradon will be on a whole new level."
After hours of trekking through the wilderness, they finally arrived at the entrance of Cragstone Caverns. The cavern's mouth loomed before them like a great beast waiting to swallow them whole. Stalactites hung from the ceiling, and the sound of dripping water echoed from deep within.
"This place gives me the creeps," Blaze admitted, his flames flickering nervously.
Deon gave him a reassuring pat. "Stick close, everyone. We don't know what we might encounter in there."
As they ventured deeper into the caverns, they finally entered a massive underground chamber. The walls were lined with glowing crystals, casting an ethereal light that illuminated the space. In the center of the chamber stood Terradon.
The beast was enormous, easily three times the size of Flame. Its body was covered in thick, jagged stone plates, and its eyes glowed with a fierce green light. The ground shook with every step it took, and its roar echoed through the cavern like a thunderstorm.
Deon's heart pounded in his chest. This was the moment they had been preparing for. "Alright, team, this is it! Let's show Terradon what we're made of!"
Terradon wasted no time, stomping the ground with its massive feet and sending shockwaves toward Deon and his team. The force was so strong that it knocked Blaze off his feet and sent Aqualis tumbling.
"Jolt, distract it! Aqualis, try to bind its legs with a water trap! Flame, Blaze, focus on its flanks!" Deon shouted, formulating a plan on the fly.
Jolt zipped forward, sending a barrage of electric bolts at Terradon's eyes, forcing the beast to roar in frustration. Aqualis summoned water from the underground streams, wrapping it around Terradon's legs in an attempt to immobilize it. Meanwhile, Flame and Blaze coordinated their fire attacks, striking at the gaps in Terradon's stone armor.
But Terradon was no ordinary beast. It shrugged off the attacks, using its tail like a whip to swat Jolt out of the air. The impact sent Jolt crashing into a wall, dazed but not defeated.
Deon gritted his teeth. "We need to get through that armor! Flame, use your Flame Burst! Blaze, combine it with your Fire Wave!"
The two fire creatures unleashed their most powerful attacks in unison, creating a massive explosion of heat and light. The force of the blast was enough to crack Terradon's stone armor, revealing the softer earth beneath.
Seeing their opportunity, Deon rushed forward, his sword glowing with the energy of his team's combined powers. "This is it! Terradon, I challenge you!"
Terradon roared, but before it could counterattack, Deon struck the exposed spot, channeling all of his strength into the blow. The ground trembled, and for a moment, it seemed as if the entire cavern would collapse.
But then, there was silence.
Terradon slowly lowered its massive head, acknowledging Deon's strength and resolve. It had been defeated, not through brute force, but through strategy and teamwork.
Deon approached cautiously, placing a hand on the beast's rugged hide. "You're strong, Terradon. Join us, and together we can protect this world from the Barbarians."
For a moment, nothing happened. Then, Terradon let out a low rumble of approval, and a warm light enveloped it. The beast shrank in size, its form becoming more compact and manageable as it allowed itself to be tamed.
"We did it," Deon whispered in disbelief. "We actually did it
The journey back to House 15 was filled with a sense of triumph. Terradon, now part of Deon's team, walked beside them, its heavy footsteps echoing like a drumbeat of victory. The sun was setting by the time they reached the city, casting long shadows on the cobblestone streets.
As they approached the gate, Nyx was waiting for them, his arms crossed and a smug grin on his face. "Well, well, look who's back. And with a new friend, I see."
Deon grinned back, feeling a surge of pride. "Meet Terradon. Think you're ready for a rematch?"
Nyx chuckled, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Oh, I've been waiting for this. But be warned, I've got a few new tricks up my sleeve too."
Deon just smiled, his team standing strong beside him. With Terradon on their side, they were ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.
And so, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the world in darkness, Deon knew that this was just the beginning of a new chapter in their journey. The fight against the Barbarians was far from over, but with every new ally they gained, their chances of victory grew stronger.
For now, though, it was time to rest, to prepare for the battles yet to come. Because tomorrow, the real fight would begin.
