The men were walking in pairs around the market. My priority was to find food but my primary objective was to found out what the heck was going on in the market. My uncle was the man who was going to provide me with both the food and information, I just had to reach his house. I had seen that the lights to his house were on, that meant he had closed his stall and went home.
My skin could have attracted a lot of attention from the invaders and they would want to know who I was, so I had to sneak all of the way to my uncle's house. I walked towards the back of the men's toilets. Being that close, I got a clear view of the people who were at the market. Most of them were closings their stalls. People from other areas had became stall owners of our stalls. Not only was our village taken by the strangers, the market too was not spared. Some of the people from the village still maintained their ownership of the stalls but how long was that going to last. There were fingers among the people, the ones I saw were wearing the rip stop fabric Patrol squad uniform. I did not clearly see the types of guns they were carrying but they looked like Essentium Powered Guns ( EPG )
I wanted to reach out to them and tell them about the situation at the village but I was not sure which side they were on. Reaching this far I had known that my enemy had a lot of aces up his sleeve, and that might have been one of his tricks. He must have dressed some of his men as the fingers, so as to make the fingers think that the place was still under their protection since that was the same with the men in the Balanor uniform.
For once lucky got on my side that I found a large cloth which I made three holes in it to use as a shirt. It was getting dark and cold at the same time that founding the cloth was a relief. The enemies movement was so random making it hard to predict where they were going. It was so hard to sneak into their formation until they were all gone to the backs of the two stalls that were infront of me. The stalls were facing each other and the other one had two sides and the latter side was facing to the north east which was the end of the market. I did not waste time to hesitate and rushed to the stalls. I turned to the other side of the two sided stall, there were two narrow routes both leading to two different ends of the market.
On the left route, there were two invaders waking away from the stalls. At a far distance of the second route, there were two invaders coming towards where I was. I had to get away from there before they arrived. If the stalls were open, I could have jumped into them to hide for some minutes.
I chose the left route hoping that they were not going to look back. I was following behind them slowly while looking for a detour. Each route I saw there were many more pairs of them, they had flooded the whole market. Getting away from the route became a difficult task out of nowhere. I was about to reach the road and as if the curse of the frog was placed in me forever, one of them looked back.
"Hey you, What are you doing here, this is not a circus.?"
"I came to buy the Glimmering Elixir."
The Glimmering Elixir was the potion that came to my mind since it was the one I needed the most. It was a good luck potion and I needed a lot of it.
"Show me your card then."
Due to the remains of the fear of the outside world in our village. Buyers were given a card of authorization. The card allowed them to trade inside the market and verified that their details were well known. We also had the cards too but mine was home at that time. I wondered what the card had to do with them. With how I spoke they immediately noticed that I was a Veilkin.
"Did you like bleach your skin."
I stopped answering their stupid questions, I was busy analysing my chances of escaping the scene. As they walked slowly towards me, the ones that were from all of the other sides were running to where I was. I was completely surrounded that if I ran on foot I could have ended up in their hands. I had to found out how much of my Enerflux could generate without having me to eat.
With the low amount of stamina I had, I only managed to teleport as far as the middle of the road with a moving cars shadow. I did not care whether it was the middle of the road or not as I run towards the direction of my uncle's house. A car which was coming towards me stopped abruptly. It was the main road which acted as the boundary between the market and the houses which was coming from Area to going Area 10.
The attackers were shooting at me, what did they have against Veilkins reaching to the point of wanting to kill a teenage who was walking around the market. The main aim of their invasion must have been to seize our resources but this was something else. I cursed that frog. Another lot of them was coming from where I was going.
"Kid you have to stop or else we will shoot you." the one leading them said.
Who would have trusted the words coming out of those monsters that were hungry to kill. I turned left and went back to into the market again. I managed to teleport again inside a stall which was as far as I could get.
"He couldn't teleport that far, look for him in those stalls."
They all went barging into the different stalls, I could hear them spreading. They barged into the shop I was hiding. Luckily, I was in the back so they did not find me right away. Anywhere I wanted to teleport to next seemed hopeless , the stalls artic or another stall. I teleported anyhow without a single idea how that was going to help me.
