Chapter 15 - Luminest

I went to the upper floor where there was the Office of the Director. His name was Mr Rogers, he was a calm man with a smiley face on him. I could tell that he was the reason why the children were happy, if he had been some grumpy old man then none of the children would have been enjoying like that.

I explained to him the reason I had gone to the place, it was surprisingly strange to hear that he already knew. How would he know that I was coming to the orphanage, was he a divine or something?

Later he told me that he also had a connection with the Dulcimortis and he had asked him prior if he had space for the children.

"We will be looking after all of the fourteen kids from now on."

"Thank you."

I was told that I was past the required age to stay at the orphanage and so they only allowed me to receive medical attention. Later, I found out the real reason I was not allowed to stay and it had something to do with me changing my behaviours. The Dulcimortis believed that if I was out there in the streets, I could change a little faster, it was cruel yet it was the most effective way I could learn good decision making.

During the my treatment, I kept thinking why did the number that the head master mentioned felt off. I had been with the children for a lot days and that was the total amount of the children I was walking around with. I retraced it back to where I took them and noticed that two of them were missing. But why did it took me that much longer to notice that, more importantly why did the children kept shut about it? I rushed outside to ask them where the heck the other two had gone.

"That day, when we where running we run into two invaders and got separated. One of them followed us and the other one followed the two."

Benjamin was explaining nervously

"Why weren't you telling me this whole time."

"We tried telling you on that day but you were tired that you heard nothing. And the next day, we were afraid that you were going to leave us all alone."

"You did not want your friends rescued."

"I did but considering what had happened already that day, it was too much of a risk even for you too, since they were not just going to leave their security like before."

The child was making sense more than I ever was. He was right, the security inside the cells must have increased after I saved some of them but still I didn't want to leave those two behind. I begun considering a new plan that to rescue those two and some others as well as my sister this time.

"Kigu, if you are thinking of going back at least don't go alone this time."

"I know someone who will help me."

"You better not be lying."

"Am not."

The kid was right, the right way to save the people was to get help from someone else. Ofcoarse he just said it with no one on his mind but I had people I could get help from in my mind. The kid saved me from a stupid decision I was to make going solo again. With his idea, I figured I could ask help from the Patrol Fingers.

My uncle might have told me that they were rotten and forgotten their duties but that did not mean all of them were, I still believed that some of them were still on the good side and I was going to find them. The patrol squad had a lot of stations in the areas which were at least fifty kilometres apart and the closest one was about twenty kilometers from the town I was in.

I bid the kids a farewell and told them that I was going to visit them any time soon. They all had faith in me that I was going to save everyone from the village. The orphanage told me that they were going to take proper care of the children and they were not going to let them get adopted so I had nothing to worry about.

I needed money to start to start my journey with, years before when I had the intention of living on my own in the Areas, I learned that it was so easy to get an instant job. People were paying a person to do almost anything, and I was able to get some of these jobs and earned a little cash in return. I was using the money for food and transportation.

It took me a fortnight to get enough money for travelling though. At first the only jobs I got were the ones that only managed to get me food for the day.

Walking to the nearest station was easy even with only affording food for the day but I had changed my mind and wanted to start with famous ELYSIUM Street Patrol Squad Station. Mtendere's older brother, ELDARION, was once Lieutenant there before he died an honorable death in the battle against the Maxmus Viri when they attacked the Royal Palace ten years before.

He was the one who helped the station have a good reputation. The Station had merits, well known for the justice the served and how determined they were to achieve peace. They were the best help I could get.

After days of waiting I finally managed to get money for transportation and went to the station. I used the fastest method of travelling around the country to get to the station as fast as I could. Cars were fast but not as fast as bullet trains, with how busy Ecade was they were a lot of traffic jams even though most of the roads had four lanes. There were a lot of cars that were faster than bullet trains but because of the jams they were just a bunch of snails.

What I found at the station was something I had never imagined would happen. Indeed I was the type of guy to be surprised all the time because I had failed to calculate some outcomes but this was beyond anyone's imagination. It could have been fine for me if I had found something like this at that station I wanted to go in the first place but I changed my mind to avoid coming across it.
