Avery finally opened her door in the morning with a determined look on her face and went to have breakfast.
"Avery if you would prefer it, I could have your assignment changed to something else." Alister spoke.
" No need dad, I can handle it." Avery replied confidently.
" If you say so." Alister conceded.
That was the end of that conversation.
Avery stopped by the book store to buy some stationary supplies before her shift. If she was going to convince the world that the massacre of her species had been unjust she would need some evidence. She planned to document every single thing she could about the hero's party.
" Whatcha doing??"a friendly voice distracted her from her thoughts.
Irisa was starting at her with a questioning look.
"I'm planning on making notes on the activities of the hero's party." Avery replied.
" I don't think even your father is as dedicated to being a guard as you are." She chided .
" I'll do whatever it takes to protect those I care about, you know that." Avery stated tucking the supplies into her satchel.
Avery started moving to the house where the hero's party was staying.
" I don't want to be late. See you around." Avery called out.
Swiftly arriving just in time to relieve the exhausted guard of his duties.
Nothing of note occured during the first half of her shift. After lunch, a nice thick meaty sandwich fer dad had packed for her, Agatha decided to go exploring the town with Damian the hero with the deep voice tagging along.
Agatha then spent the next three hours barrelling from place to place dragging Avery and Damian along. Though they did stop at the blacksmith for Damian.
Damian seemed to only be interested in fighting while Agatha preferred anything sparkly or cute Avery noted.
They returned just in time for dinner which was supposed to signify the end of her shift but the person who was suppose to take over was running late like usual.
" Would you like to join us for dinner??" Asked Jona a trub scout who was not a part of the party when her people were killed.
" No thank you," Avery refused.
Jona was about to say something only to be interupted by the guard arriving.
Avery returned home and ate with her father.
" Soo how are your duties going?" Alister broke the silence.
" They are doing just fine dad," Avery replied.
" Avery if you feel like..." Alister tried to speak.
" The food was great . I'm tired so I'll turn in for the evening. Night dad." Avery said leaving before Alister could get another word out.
Entering her room Avery immediately began making notes about everything she noticed about the hero's party. Even the things that seemed trivial, just in case it was useful.
Satisfied with the work she hid the book in the hidden compartment she had created in the floor under the bed to hide her survival bag .
She then dozed off to sleep ready for what she was about to see.
