Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Aaron POV

'Hello, brother.' Alex said, crossing his arms and leaning against the door.

"Is it some sort of a fucking reunion today?" Ralph asked sounding very annoyed and I returned the same energy.

"You and me both, buddy." I replied him.

'Aren't going to invite me in?' he asked and began to walk towards the chair.

I rolled my eyes at him. 'You're already in, dumbass.' I walked towards the door and I closed it.

'You look good.'

'What do you want?'

'Ah, straight to the point. Mother must have told you the news.' He said.

What was wrong with these people today?

Why did they feel the need to tell about things that didn't concern me?

'Congratulations,' I told him with no expression on my face.

'You can atleast pretend to be happy for me,' he said, pretending to be hurt.

'I don't have to pretend to be anything. I'm happy for you.'

'Well, your face sure looks like it.' I rolled my eyes at his sarcastic tone. 'It must really hates seeing me get everything you wanted.'

'I don't want it.' I answered unbothered about what he said.

"Is he looking for a fight with us?" Ralph laughed in my head. I just chuckled and opened the door for Alex.

'That's a lie and we both know it. It is killing you that I'm about to be King and you will still be locked in this dead room.' He began to sound angry and I just stared at him, amazed.

Why was he getting angry?

I let out a little laugh. 'Is this your idea of starting a fight?' That got him more angry because I got my back pushed against the wall.

'Just admit you are a jealous bastard.' He said angrily, gritting his teeth.

'Why are getting angry?' I asked with amusement. 'It's not a good trait for a future king to have. We don't want your people to think you can't control that temper, do we?'

His right had aimed at my face but I swiftly dodged it. He continued to throw a few more punches unsuccessfully.

"Just punch him already," Ralph yawned lazily.

"But I'm having fun." I replied him, dodging again.

I could knock him out with one punch if I wanted to but I was having fun. Yeah, I was that strong.

I slapped him across the face and he stumbled a bit. I decided to push his buttons a little more.

'You can't even hit a blind man. Are you certain you are ready to be king?' That must have hit a nerve because I saw his eyes turn gold, indicating his wolf was ready to take control.

He half-changed, his nails extended to claws and he charged at me.

"You want some help?" Ralph asked, totally unbothered by all of this.

"Nah, he's just a pup." I replied to Ralph who then yawned and went back to sleep.

I turned my attention back to Alex. He began trying to scratch me and I kept dodging. It went on for about five minutes but I began to get bored.

I punched him in the stomach and he groaned loudly before turning back. He touched his stomach, visible pain plastered in his face but he tried to hide it. I didn't even hit him that hard.

'You think you can beat me just because you gave me a small punch? You are nothing but a blind bastard, a disgrace to the royal family! You will never be anything in this life.' He spat on my feet.

'Yet, I'm still man enough to beat your ass.' I smirked and he laughed but it didn't reach to his eyes.

'When I'm king, I'm gonna make sure I wipe that stupid smirk on your face.' He went out the door and I grabbed his wrist before whispering in his ear,

'I will hold you to that, brother.' He yanked back his arm and continued to walk slowly down the stairs. I closed the door.

"Damn, how much did you hit him?" Ralph chimed in.

"I didn't even tap in to anything." I had also been wondering about that but I was sure I didn't use any of my powers.

"I guess you are getting stronger." I hummed in response. "I need a run."

"Me too, after all the drama, I need some air too. Plus, it's a good day since everyone will be at the arena for the new moon."

Every month, the werewolves come together to celebrate the full moon. The packs take turns to host the celebration and this month, it being held here. They start to celebrate midday and wait for midnight when the moon is at its highest peak and transform into their wolves.

This is why werewolves prefer to battle on a full moon because the moon increases their power although they can still win on a normal day- just depending on the circumstances.

After making sure the house was empty, I hid my scent and half transformed into a full wolf and jumped off my balcony, sprinting straight into the forest.

I stopped when I came in sight with beautiful jacaranda trees. Its purple leaves were spread around the ground, making a soft carpet. This was my favourite spot. I came here everytime I needed to think or to just get away from the world.

Ralph laid down on top of the leaves and and I let out a satisfied breathe. He lifted his head and let the sun shine on our face. There was a friendly breezy and I felt at peace.

The world felt right when I was here.

Suddenly Ralph lifted his head, ears perked up and sniffed the air.

"What is it, buddy?" I asked.

"I don't know, but can you smell that?" I exhaled sharply and a faint scent hit my nostrils.

He was on all four now and he was beginning to make me nervous.

He took another whiff again and began to wag his tail in excitement and uttered the one word that was never in my vocabulary.

"Mate!" He exclaimed and I froze.
