Chapter 3 - All Of Creation At My Fingertips!

The physicist opened his inventory to check for anything new, and found exactly the things he was looking for. His inventory now included, at the top right of his character projection, a star and at the top left, a sword. clicking the sword seemed to show his specific stats.

The most prominent additions were a blue leather bound book at the top right of his inventory, which showed the physicist a large assortment of strange quests and this huge list of possible craftable items next to his inventory, with a search bar at the very bottom.

he controlled the menus with his fingers, quickly familiarizing himself with them, hmm-ing and humming his way though it.

"So it seems, DT-018, that ALL OF CREATION IS AT MY FINGERTIPS!!!" roared the physicist in joy.

"congratulations sir." replied the robotized voice.

"it seems as though I need to undergo some tribulations to truly unlock the potential of this ability...I'm not aversed to it at all! What's an adventure without tribulations?"

He then tapped on the star that had appeared in his inventory-{curios}. It displayed accessories that he could equip. One of the slots is already filled.

[Slot:Soul]

"woah...mana...magic..." that word brought him back to his senses, somehow. In that moment he steeled his resolve. He wanted to see more of this wonderful and new world. He wanted to live, he wanted to share, he wanted to be loved, to make friends, to live a life of joy and hope.

and he would destroy anything that stood in his way.

"DT-018 prospect please"

"a vast number of ore veins have been located. would you like to see the list?"

"Yes."

A map of the surroundings appeared in his mind, color coded according to material. on the right of this map was a list of all the ores present in the area.

"Diatomite...Asbestos...Vanadium Magnetite...AHA Magnetite! We shoouuld be able to locate that fairly close to the surface and also be able to turn it into iron fairly easily. But first, to make a crafting table!" he typed "crafting table" into the little search bar, getting an immediate result. Two logs topped by two shards of flint. "how strange" he murmured.

To get flint, he'd need to find gravel, and to find gravel, he'd need to go outside.

"It should be fine if I just do...this!" the physicist breaks the block above his head with a few punches. and a violet, and quickly brightening sky greeted him. Quickly placing the block below him, he ran away from the skeletons and that strange structure back to the water he appeared next to.

Once he got there, he took of his coat and rolled up his sleeves and jeans, wading into the water and mining up gravel until he got the two flint he needed, and some extra to fashion some tools.

No matter how close the world was to minecraft, the physicist still wanted to try everything, and "surely flint is a better material to mine stone than wood!"

He also discovered that he had to use a hatchet to chop wood into planks, so he figured it'd be a good idea to make flint tools.

after quickly crafting a hatchet and a flint pickaxe, he chops some logs into planks and starts toward the magnetite vein he had prospected.

The physicist stopped and thought for a second "Well before anything let's make a home." he grinned

In that moment a strange melody he'd long forgotten floated through the air.

A gentle breeze seemed to follow ever note of a ghostly piano

"Wet Hands..." The physicist smiled a bittersweet smile "How nostalgic..."

The physicist fell in step behind the tune of that song, remembering the intricacies of his long lost childhood through the akashic tome.

He recalled every block he placed in those beautiful worlds of his. The music crescendo arrives and leaves, and another song takes its place.

"Subwoofer Lullaby..." all tension seemed to have disappeared from his movement, and the world itself seemed to move in peace-harmony.

His heart lays calm and a strange feeling blossoms at the pit of his stomach-a tingle of joyous calmness. He closed his eyes, and let out a long, long exhale of air he'd been keeping with him for nearly all his life.

And when he opened his eyes, he was there again. A young boy, scared of only creepers, endermen, and the dark, who had just made his first house in minecraft.

He did not speak, he was scared that the emotion would be disturbed through words.

It was a beautiful moment.

He gazed at that beautiful house he created all those days ago once more,

and he smiled a nostalgic smile.

He walked into the house, shutting the door behind him. A bed lay in a corner, made from wool he painstakingly gathered from a sheep who wandered by with a sharpened piece of flint. Beside it was a crafting table.

"It doesn't matter if it is made of diamond blocks or dirt but as soon as you place a bed next to a crafting table, that's home" he smiled and laughed as the music floated into silence. "Ahhh I hope that happens again...that was lovely."

The physicist walks out of his home-no house, and picks up his lab coat from where he left it, by a log upon which he chopped his wood. "Let's go grab some cobble." A grin graced his face once more
