Chereads / Fate can vibrate / Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

As they were walking to Grandviville, they were both just silent, only the sounds of the people around that could be heard as the street started to get more and more busy the closer they get to Grandviville, yet, the atmosphere just gets more awkward and awkward each passing second. To break this impeding silence, Saif asks about Kento about his experiences with the paper work needed for Grandviville. Kento just comments that it was fine... And they were back to silence again. Saif realised Kento doesn't know how to take the initiative in the conversation, so he decided to do so instead. Saif starts to describe the horrible experience that is getting the paper work for this exam. Going 3 trips to the doctors that each took about 5 hours. Not to mention how annoying the tests were, and some were even painful. Kento is surprised by what Saif is saying as he tell him that it only took him about an hour to finish all the tests, so he doesn't understand how it took him this long for him. Saif is flabbergasted by how quickly Kento finished the tests and asks "How in the hell did you finish them so fast?! Was the hospital completely empty?!"

In a confused tone, Kento says "Hospital?" Saif asks "Yes, a hospital. How else are you supposed to take the test if not in a hospital?" He says in a friendly and joking way while chuckling a bit. Kento can't help but chuckle back at that. Kento tells him how he just had all the tests done to him at his home. That statement caused Saif stare at him for a moment in pure suprise and just said in a slightly audible tone, "That's district 1 people for you." Kento is confused to why Saif is suprised and Saif just move on to not be anymore rude about it and seem like he envies Kento. They then fall back into awkward silence, but Saif quickly this time then tries to keep the conversation going by describing his experience with getting the papers from the doctors and the districtal government for the exam, like the medical and physical exams and for his power and health state and well being, "Like, why is there so many exams? I know it's to test many things, but what I am asking is, why does Grandviville need so much information? I know it's to give proper education and a proper exam, but it's still exhausting. And don't even get me started on the government papers and how slow they are." Kento give a big laugh to Saif's complaining session where he answered his own questions. Saif then realised he never asked Kento about his power.

"Hey, Ke-... oh right, Kento, what's your power?" Saif forgot his name for a moment but remember it quickly. Kento replies with, "My power? Well, my power is to be able me sending telepathic messages to people. I can communicate with people by sending or receiving from them small phrases if they are too far, but if they are close enough, I can have a full conversation with then like a call." Saif realises how useful a power like this can be, and says it can really help in a house hold instead of yelling when looking for family member around the house. To this joke Kento gives a slight laugh, but then asks Saif for his power too. Saif replies with, "My power is basically that I can vibrate." Kento is now surprised and confused as from the display he saw by him fighting those bullies, he thought he power would have be 'Full counter' or 'Parry', and he doesn't understand how he would have used such a-... normal power to send back attackes like that.

To Kento's confusion, Saif tells him how he used sent back their hits to them, "Basically, every hit is technically a vibration, even a single impulse or reverberation is still a vibration, and I can store them or reflect them back where they came from, so that's what I basically did, just sent the shock back." Kento is taken aback at how creatively he used his power, but his shock was short lived as then Saif then asks Kento if he can make a werid request. Kento snaps back and asks him what's the request. Saif tells him if he could send him a telepathic message because he wants to know how it sounds and feels, "Like, I want to know how it feels to hwve someone talk in your head, you know. Other than me of course." Kento then tells him 'Okay' telepathically and waits to see his reaction at him talking to him telepathically. They both then keep walking in silence as Saif didn't realise that the okay Kento told him was actually him talking telepathically, so he is still waiting for him to do it. He then thinks to himself it takes so long to initiate, and doesn't want to say anything to not rush Kento and make him think that he is impatient. Kento is walking there all awkwardly as he doesn't understand why Saif isn't saying anything. Saif break the silence after a few minutes and asks if he sent it yet as he doesn't hear anything, so if he was talking to him telepathically, he is not hearing it. Kento then asked if he didn't hear him tell him 'Okay', that he told him. Saif says that he didn't hear him say okay at all as he didn't think that Kento was referring to the one he said initially. Kento then said that it was weird that he didn't hear him and that it should have worked. As Saif was looking at Kento, he realised that he said the last statement without moving his lips and points that out to Kento. He was really suprised and excited that they were talking telepathically thus entire time.

When Saif finally points this out to Kento, Kento realised he was talking telepathically and starts to talk normaly again, and he apologises as he mostly talks telepathically when he is at home, so he is used to it so much that he didn't realise he was doing it as its a bit nartaul to him. Saif tells him to stop apologising so much and that he liked talking telepathically for the first time and he states how cool it was to just hear someone talk like they are right next to you, and it fooled him completely. He jokingly says, "I am the guy who can easily sense vibration, and I didn't notice you weren't reverberating the air to talk, that's how good you are at imitating reality, but still, I had a feeling something felt off, so I won't put myself short either." Kento thanks him for the compliment and he looks at the ground while thanking him. Saif feels a little appalled by how feminine thay action was, but he didn't want to point it out, so he tires to get his mind off it. Saif tries to joke around and says how he understands that with his family, if they can all just talk telepathically to each other, it could be lively at home, but to an outside observer, they are just quite and gloomy like a ghost house. Kento tells him that he is right and laughs and says to Saif that it actually happened once. Saif is now intrigued and asked them for the story. Kento by telling him how they once had guests over as they were friends of his father. For the entire time, they haven't said a word to eachother and only used their mouths with the guesses as they didn't realise. When the guests got too uncomfortable by the tense looks they give each other like they were expecting words from one another, they asked nicely if there was a family issue and if they were mad at each other. The moment they realised they weren't talking out loud the entire time they were having a conversation is when they burst out laughing. Kento says the story kind awkwardly, seeming like he doesn't socialise that often with people, but that didn't stop Saif from laughing is butt off at that story and him imaging how confused and uncomfortable the guests must have been and tells Kento how he wishes he was there.

Kento starts laughing with Saif and they both laugh loudly while walking and flailing their heads around from how much they are deeply laughing. The way that Kento said the story wasn't the best at all, it was honestly mediocre at best, but Saif is the type of person who uses his imagination more than the words given to him. He was also used to talking to socially awkward people, he was in fact in the past socially awkward himself, and is still, but he as improved himself, but this will be discussed later in the story, but for you readers at home, I give you this preview.
