Rose and a couple other fairies sat around me in the bath. Are they blocking my escape? Rose leaned her head against my shoulder and let out a comfortable sigh. Then, the fairy on the opposite side copied her. As I recall, her name is Iris, that must be some kind of blue flower.
"So, what game do you want to play?" asked Rose.
"Umm. . . How about we play 'house'?" It was the only thing I could think of.
"That sounds like fun! How do you play?"
"It's where we pretend we're a family, and we each act out different roles in the family."
"Like a human family? What roles are there?"
Once again the fairies were gazing at me, intently.
"There's husbands and wives, and there's children and babies, or even pets."
As I spoke, the excitement was building, and their eyes were practically sparkling.
The fairies discussed the roles they would play, and they decided they would all play wives.
"Okay, I'll play the family pet."
For the first time since I met them, the fairies stopped smiling. It sent shivers up and down my spine. I need to think up an escape plan quickly.
"Just kidding, I'll play the husband."
Their smiles returned immediately, and a few of them giggled.
Then something occurred to me. Towels. It would be nice if I could wrap a towel around my waist.
"Well, erm, my darlings, shall we go?" I said, standing up.
Realizing the game had begun, the fairies stood up and came over to me saying things like "yay", "husband", and "darling". Iris said "um, I love you" and blushed. Seeing that eased my worries about a horror story twist. The fairies started to seem more cute than creepy, again.
We got out and I started looking for the towels, but I was already completely dry, somehow. How did that happen? I turned around and saw that all of the fairies were dry and dressed. That was so fast. I guess fairies use magic or whatever instead of towels.
We walked back up to the main hall where we started. The fairies kept calling me 'husband' and saying whatever they seemed to think wives would say. I mainly responded in hums. Then, I noticed we were walking right past Emily, Enna, and Lily. Emily and Enna both looked shocked.
"All of them?" asked Enna.
"We're too late." said Emily.
"Husband!" said Lily, enthusiastically, as she came up to hug me.
Apparently thinking that Lily had a good idea, the other fairies said "Husband!" and hugged me too.
"My darlings, I'm pretty hungry." I said "Would you please make me something to eat?"
The fairies seemed to realize that this is the next phase of the game, and they each answered in the affirmative. The fairies showed me to some kind of dining room and the amazons followed behind us.
"Wait here, we'll be back soon," said Rose.
The fairies completely ignored the amazons as they left.
I am actually hungry, so I hope they bring real food and not pretend food. I slouch down in a chair, lazily. I feel pretty fatigued, mentally.
