Chapter 2 - Who are you? Who am I?

"Forget who you are, what am I!" Doric exclaimed as he looked at himself in the mirror. Floating in space his jawbone hanging low in shock. The dark elf giggled to herself and opened her book once again to another page. It showed the details of a flaming skull that looked just like him.

"I had to create a form for you that would guarantee success. This one was perfect." She clapped her hands together and pointed to him. Her ruby red eyes began to glow a bit as she casted a spell. Once completed her eyes dimmed again to the normal ruby hue but her left eye had a monocle on it now. It floated just in front of her face.

"Looking at you I would say your magic level is about 10 and dwindling quickly. Perfect for the next part of the ritual."

"Magic level, Ritual, what are you about to do to me?" Doric backed up a little into the mirror and felt a slight clack as he did so. He chattered his teeth in worry as she continued another spell. This time taking a small knife and poking her finger with it, She began walking towards him. Her finger out stretched and her words growing louder. He felt a deep discomfort in the pit of his stomach but could not move. She pressed her finger onto his forehead, the blood sizzled for a moment before disappearing. She took a step back and clasped her hands together once again. Looking at him she gave herself a congratulatory pat on the back.

"Go me!" She exclaimed as the monocle shattered and Doric felt calmer.

"What did you do to me?" He asked as he felt strength welling up inside himself.

"Oh don't worry I combined out magic pools together so you would not fade. Now you are apart of me and I am apart of you master!"

Shaking his head he blurted out. "I don't know what any of that means! Speak to me in plain english."

She smiled and began wobbling a little. She made her way to the chair and sat down. Her face looked a lighter shade of purple and she her dark purple lips were turning red. "Oh it's simple…" She would start but doze off on the table. It did not look like a normal nap, something was wrong.

"What am I supposed to do, I don't know what she did and now it looks like she's dying! Why does she call me master and where in the heck am I!?" He would float around the room and nudge her a little trying his hardest to wake her up but all he would get were faint breath. He concentrated on trying to slam into her more to wake her up. It looked like she was becoming anemic.

"Alright what can I do to stop her from dying… Think, Doric, think." As if a door opened in his mind he could see something he had not seen before. A formula, a phrase, a spell.

Looking deeply into his mind he saw what he had to do to complete the ritual. He had to speak the words that he saw. He had to grind his teeth and lastly he had to kiss her to complete the connection.

"Oh no, I don't think I can do that last part!" He thought to himself. "Perhaps a peck on the cheek will suffice?" He knew he did not have much time to deal with the small stuff he had to do something quick. He spoke the phrase aloud. "I am hers, and She is mine, Connected through blood and bonded through love, forever entwined through space and time."

He grinded his teeth and looked at her. The phrase was something that he could imagine saying to Selena but not to some stranger he just met. However this was different. He was not saying this out of love or anything he was just trying to save her. He finished grinding his teeth, the powder on his bony lips. He closed in a breath away from her face and paused.

"Can I really kiss someone who isnt Selena?" He contemplated for a moment before the option was taken from him. She moved forward slumped into him their lips locked and the powder stuck to her mouth. A bright red light flashed in front of the two. A circle on the ground formed and Doric felt a strong heat that felt like it was burning his entire body. "Wait a minute!"

His body! It was slowly being reformed the muscle and skin the hair, everything was slowly forming to make him into a living human being. Although he looked sightly different. His hair was super long. As if he had not cut in decades. And his muscles were much more defined. He took a moment to admire himself before realizing something important.

The dark elf began to rouse from her sleep rubbing her eyes. Right as she opened them he saved himself the embarrassment and grabbed the mirror from the table and covered his private part. He was completely naked in this room and he could tell he was alive again because all the blood rushed to his face leaving him blushing to the point of looking sunburnt.

"It's not what you think!" Doric blurted out without thinking. His embarrassment more than he could take. The dark elf looked confused and looked around the room.

"Where, where am I?" She spoke slowly her delicate voice sleepy and confused. "Who, are you?" she sat up straight and finished rubbing her eyes. Doric stopped being embarrassed for a moment and looked concerned now.

"What do you mean? You brought me here explain it to me!" He seemed a little upset with those words and calmed himself down. "Sorry for that…"

She looked at the mirror he was holding down there and looked confused. Doric moved back a little to get to a robe and moved behind it. He handed her the mirror and blushed again. "Here you go, sorry for uh, using it." Taking the object from his hand she looked at her hands and touched her face. As if she did not recognize it.

"This does not seem right, Where are we, and why do I look like this?" Doric looked at the ground and kicked a rock.

"I don't know, All I know is you summoned me here after I died and then cast a spell on me. Once you finished you woke up and here we are. My name's Doric by the way, what's yours?"

She heard the words he had said and her eyes went wide. "Died, that's right, i…died." She calmed down for a moment and looked back at him. "How exactly did I die again?"

Doric shook his head not getting a response from her about her name he could tell she was just as confused as he was now. "I think you might have amnesia miss. What can you remember."

She paused for a moment, took a deep breath and steadied herself on the chair. "I don't know much. I think my name was…Nyssa? I was floating…I was…like a feather on the wind, floating, falling, I remember a bat was fluttering around me trying to pull me up. Why was it doing that…"

Nodding his head he remembered something kinda like that as wel. "I also was floating, above a town, then in a room with a woman and finally in this cave. Perhaps we are similar afterall." He looked around and saw what appeared to be clothing that looked to fit him perfectly lying on the bed. "Uh, could you hand me those please?" He pointed at the clothing and she looked at them for a moment before jumping up and running towards them. Stumbling a little as she did.

Handing him the clothing she turned around her purple skin turning a slight shade of red as she realized what was going on. Moments later he came out from behind the robe wearing some fine purple, red and black clothing. It looked good on him if he were into cosplay perhaps. He did not care though he was just happy to be alive and not naked anymore.

"Perhaps we should look around for clues as to where we are. Maybe this book as something in it that can help us out." Walking over to the spellbook as he spoke he saw that is was glowing faintly. He touched it and felt a voice in the back of his mind call out to him. It was Nyssa's voice but more confident.

"If you are reading this Master then it means I have finally succeeded in bringing you back. Now it's your turn to help me. As you might have already discovered. I am no longer who I used to be. But fear not. The loveable girl you trained will be back. You just have to help her gain her magic level back and my memories will slowly return. Although you might not remember me I still remember you. I will help you reclaim your throne and together we will rule over this world as King and Queen. For now take this book and with it. Relearn what you once had and what is out there. Farewell for now, my love…"
