Henry Esprit
This job is gonna kill me. Genuinely, this job was going to kill me.
This mission was going great, the elders activated a teleportation formation and sent the entire clan to the place where Umbra and its minions were waiting, deep in some cave way under the surface. With relative ease they took care of Umbra and managed to exorcize it. It was all going good until I faced off against an evil great spirit by myself.
I can deal with true spirits, no problem, I should be able to deal with a normal great spirit with only a little bit of trouble, but this thing was near the peak of what an evil great spirit should've been capable of.
I pulled myself out of the cave wall I just been flung into and landed on the ground with a thud. I unsheathe my katana and pulled out some talismans. Sana. VI. Velox. I activated these three spells and then charged at the great spirit, pouring my spiritual energy into my legs to increase my speed, the ground shattered beneath my feet as I ran.
I brought my sword over my head and swung down on the great spirit. The spirit giggled and my attack went straight through it, suddenly 10s of what appeared to be the same spirit appeared around me, all giggling in sync.
"Hehehe, you'll never be able to hit me if you're that slow." All the copies of the spirit laughed around me. Fantastic. I was already too slow to hit just one, and now I don't even know which clone is the real one. In a situation like this, there's only one thing to do. I pulled out another talisman and threw it into the air.
Auxilium!(Help) A bright red light went off and a massive surge of spiritual energy swept through the cave. Obviously I wouldn't be able to handle this thing on my own, my best bet would be to hold out until one of the elders showed up.
Immediately after the spell went off I channeled my spiritual energy into my armor and held my sword in a defensive stance. The evil spirit made no attempt to attack and just began to have all its bodies circle around me. Hopefully this spirit was probably waiting for me to attack it and counter, if so all I had to do was just not attack.
Unfortunately, that was nothing except wishful thinking, all at once its bodies swarmed at me. I readied my sword and swung at the evil spirits in front of me, wrong move. My sword passed through their bodies with no connection.
A force hit my back and I was sent tumbling along the ground until I skid to a stop. Pain erupted all over my body and I struggled to stand up, i had been sent flying nearly 50 feet along the rocky surface of the cave, luckily my armor had absorbed some of the impact, but the protective enchant was mostly broken from the evil spirits initial attack, leaving my unarmored parts at the mercy of the rocks.
I attempted to reach for a talisman to try and heal myself but was attacked by the evil spirit once again before I could grab anything. This time, it sent me flying into the wall, again, and this time I wasn't going to be able to remove myself from it.
"Hehehe you're in such a pitiful state, it suits you." The evil spirit giggled as it looked at me, speaking from all its bodies. "How should I play with you thi-" Lumina Descensus!(Lights Descent) The evil spirit was cut off mid sentence as a massive beam of light fell from the sky, vaporizing the spirit.
"Well Henry, you've certainly looked better." My grandfather emerged from another cave path, stroking his beard. I don't think I've ever been more happy to see him. "Really, I think I look pretty good." I replied sarcastically. Summa infirmos.(Total Heal) Grandfather took out a talisman and chanted a spell. My body completely healed and I dug my way out of the cave wall.
"How's the cleanup going?" I asked while dusting off my clothes. "That was the last one, you're the only person we're waiting for." Grandfather responded. Great, I'm never gonna hear the end of this one.
We made out way through the cave system to meet up with the other clan members and after walking for a few minutes we found them. "Ah, Henry, what took you so long!" My little sister, Mana Esprit, yelled out and ran over to me. She had her shoulder length black hair tied up in a high ponytail and had a white bandana over her eyes, which were pretty much the same as mine. Her exorcist attire was different from mine, It was one long white gown that covered her entire body all the way down to her feet.
She had a yellow symbol on her bandana that looked almost like an eye and yellow markings in a spiral pattern along her gown. Her clothes symbolized that she was a sham type exorcist, specializing in summoning, healing, and support. My clothes showed that I was a battle class exorcist, who specialized in reinforcement and combat.
"Well Mana, I fought against a Great Spirit all by myself." I puffed out my chest, trying to show off for my little sister. Though of course, my grandfather put an end to that. "More like getting your tail handed to you." Slightly embarrassed, I tried to change the topic. "If I'm the last person we were waiting for then we should leave now?" "Sure why not." Grandfather responded.
With that, all the members of the clan huddled together and the elders all pulled out their talismans and simultaneously chanted a spell. Ianuae.(Teleport) One moment we were in the cave and the next we were back home.
I immediately dashed home. We weren't gone for too long and it wasn't too late either, maybe I could still meet up with Andrea for a little bit. I dashed out of the clan leader's home and down the street to my own house.
I burst through the door and up the stairs to find my phone. I grabbed it off the charger and immediately called Andrea. *Ring Ring-Click* "Hey Henry, what's up?" She picked up on the second ring and I heard her soothing voice come from the other end of the phone.
"Nothing much, I just got off work early. What happened with your dad?" I tried to reply calmly but I was a little excited and had my hopes up. "Nothing really, he called me for something minor, I already took care of."
Perfect, I clenched my fist and proceeded to talk. "Do you wanna meet up for a bit, it might be too late for the movie but we could still go get food toge-" "YES! I mean yea, let's do it." She said excitedly. "Ok I'll pick you up in an hour?" I asked. "Sure, I'll see you then."
