They didn't have a picture and now I just feel embarrassed for asking. Dealing with my embarrassment I made it through the rest of the day up until 7th period. Finally, it felt like forever.
Immediately after the 6th period bell rang I took off towards my 7th period class, using demonic energy to reinforce my pace while still looking like I was walking. It took no time at all to arrive at the classroom and I was even the first to arrive. I walked into the class and took my seat.
Our AP Psychology teacher, Ms. Blanchett was at her desk, seemingly preparing today's material. She was a younger teacher, she seemed to be barely over 20, long blond hair with blue eyes and an average appearance. If one had to guess she looked more like an English teacher than a psychology teacher.
While thinking such thoughts, other students began to arrive, one of which being Henry. I gave him a wave as he took his seat on the other side of the classroom. He waved back and gave me a smile before looking away and into his backpack and where he started to pull out his materials for the class. Shortly after, Ms. Blanchett's lessons started and took both of our attention. It was a lesson on Sigmund Freud and his theories, the entire class was taking notes and that's how the whole class went up until the dismissal bell.
DING DING DING*
With the dismissal bell ringing all of the students began to pack up their things and started leaving. I packed mine up quickly and started walking over to Henry, who was finishing packing up. He attempted to toss his notebook into his bag and completely missed. While laughing I picked it up for him and asked "You need some help?"
I handed the notebook back to him, he had a slightly blushed and embarrassed expression. "Thank you, but I'm done." He took the notebook and stuffed it into his bag before zipping it up and standing up. "Let's go." He said and began walking out of the classroom.
As we made our way down the stairs and out of the school building, we both talked about our days. Him almost being late to first period and his friends making fun of him for it, and me having to take a make-up test.
Much to my dismay, we eventually made it to my car where we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways. I got in the car and started driving off while he left to find his and do the same. I wish I could have seen him longer today but it's a Friday, and he always works on fridays. At least we made plans for the weekend.
Henry Esprit
I have training today, or as I tell anyone outside of the clan, work. After passing through the front gate of the clan's head house, I joined some others in the front courtyard who had already begun today's training. There were a bunch of spirits floating around, seemingly conversing with some of the clan members. Great, today was summoning practice.
When I finally joined the others I was greeted by one of the clan elders, my aunt Dianna Esprit, the clan's summoning expert. Yep, today was definitely summoning day. My aunt was my fathers little sister, only around 25 years old.
She had the same blonde hair and blue eyes as the rest of the clan, except her hair was long, braided, and hung over her shoulder. She was dressed in the same attire as I was, she was fighter class. She was a very beautiful woman and was recently married. She was currently the youngest clan elder due her exceptional talent with spirit summoning.
"Welcome Henry, go ahead and summon your contracted spirit and join us." "Yes, ma'am" I took out a talisman and chanted. Vocare. The talisman glowed and levitated out of my hand, The glow turned into a bright ball of light and continued to grow.
The ball of light began to swirl and a bright golden hawk emerged from it. The yellow hawk, my summoned spirit, flew around for a bit before landing on my shoulder, its bright gold shine dimming to a low glow.
"Practice again? Why do you never summon me for any real action?" My hawk snorted Indignantly. "Come on Aurum how many times do I have to tell you, I'll summon you when there is action." I responded, but he wasn't satisfied with that answer. "LIAR. I can feel your spiritual energy, it's been used for combat recently, and not just practice, real combat." He yelled.
Aurum was a battle freak. I'd raised him since he was just a formless spirit when we first formed our contract until now where he was a true spirit. He's always had an obsession with battle which sometimes can make it difficult to work with him. Especially now, since I didn't summon him to fight the great spirit.
"I've told you many times, always, ALWAYS, summon me when you think there might be a fight." He was still going on, so I just chose to ignore him, like I normally do, and while he was still talking, elder Dianna began to speak again.
"Now that everyone is here, we will begin today's training. For those of you who have formed spirits, you will focus on helping your spirit absorb the elements to become elemental spirits. For those of you who have elemental spirits you will focus on mastering your spirit's control and mastery of the element and hope to achieve its elemental integration to become a true spirit. Henry, you will work with me separately."
In order for a spirit to become an elemental level spirit it needs to absorb spiritual energy in the air that has an attribute, once it has absorbed enough of that attribute it can become an elemental spirit, where it will be allowed to receive a name. It is impossible to control or predict what type of attribute energy your spirit will absorb and you won't know until you spirit reaches the elemental level.
Once at the elemental level the spirit will have to learn to control and use its element, where it will eventually be able to completely integrate itself with that element and become a true spirit. These advancements depend on the spirit itself and the Exorcist working together, and somehow me and Aurum had become the only duo in our generation to reach the true spirit level, which meant when it came to summoning practice I often had my own special lessons.
Once aunt Dianna got everyone else situated she turned to me. "Now for you. In these past few training sessions you and Aurum have gotten quite adept at using true spirits power. Today I'm going to teach you a new technique, and probably the most important. Spiritus Possessionem."
