Chapter 9 - Awakening Of The Strongest Innate Talent

AWAKENING INNATE TALENT

>ERROR!!!...Error!!!!!....Ding!!...Error....Ding...Error.

"What error is this?...and why am I here?" Furan asked, utterly confused.

After the error message appeared, and a grating, clashing sound followed by almost a thousand error notifications in just one minute, suddenly all notifications stopped. The system screen vanished and reappeared.

>Host detected dead in an unnatural manner, granting the Host a second chance.

Furan tried to read the screen, but before he could finish reading, he felt himself being sucked into a void.

"Why is it so dark here?" Furan wondered in bewilderment.

Moments later, Furan's vision began to clear, and he realized he was in the same white room as before he was first struck down. Just as he came to his senses, the shadowy figure from before appeared again, striking Furan even faster than before.

"Slash!"

!!!...Furan died for the second time.

"Why am I here again?...Did I die again?" he asked himself, finding himself in a place that felt like outer space.

>ERROR!!!....Error....Host died in an unnatural manner...!!!..Granting Host a third chance, revive!!!

Furan regained consciousness, finding himself once more in the pure white room. For the third time, the shadowy figure appeared right in front of Furan, causing him to stumble backward and fall.

"Who are you? Why are you killing me?" Furan asked the shadow.

The shadow stood still for a moment, then transformed into a sword and stabbed Furan in the chest as he sat there.

>Passive ability reduces pain experienced by Host.

"Arrggghh…what are you doing?" Furan screamed in agony.

The shadow remained silent, instead twisting the sword inside Furan, causing him to lose a great amount of blood.

"This pain… arrgggghh… it feels like I'm going to die again…" Furan's body grew cold as he lost consciousness once more.

Furan found himself back in the space-like void, but this time he was able to move and look around. As he observed, a system notification appeared in front of him with strange words.

>HOST... has died again, again, and again… system detects that Host lacks the skills for self-preservation… Forcing system upgrade… Upgrade... Error... Upgrade failed... Error...

System upgrade... Success... System Lv2.

The system unlocked new features!

-Provides danger warnings to Host.

-Host can now start earning Heaven and Earth Destiny Points (how???).

"The system has upgraded???...what does it mean by danger warnings?" Furan wondered, perplexed by what he was seeing.

>Reviving Host.

"I'm back… that shadow is forming again… am I going to be killed again?" Furan had a feeling this was going to keep repeating.

>Host is in danger. Host is advised to run south in the next three seconds.

Without hesitation, Furan turned to run, but he stumbled and fell.

"Why can't I run?... Why does time seem to be slowing down?...I can't feel my legs… this feeling… it's so familiar…" Furan thought, analyzing what he was experiencing.

Furan felt as though time was slowing down due to the adrenaline rush, but he was powerless to move. He realized as he fell, he could see his body from behind, lying near the shadow. After observing for a moment, he noticed the shadow seemed slightly larger than the first time he saw it.

"Maybe I'm just destined to die… I'm starting to get used to this pain… the pain here and the pain from the first time I was struck feel so different," Furan thought, comparing the agony he felt with his previous encounter in the forest.

>System is initiating a forced upgrade as Host encounters an unbeatable foe. System upgrade… success.

The forced system upgrade no longer caused errors due to minor rule disruptions during the level 2 upgrade, making it easier to level up. Furan floated in the space-like void, staring at the system screen as it leveled up on its own.

System upgrade... success... System Lv3.

The system grants Host a passive skill:

-Host gains Future Glimpse (5 seconds).

-Host can earn Heaven and Earth Destiny Points by fighting boss monsters or special monsters.

"How is my system leveling up by itself without me doing anything? Is this cheating?...or does my system have a mind of its own?" Furan asked himself.

>"Yes, Host…hello."

Suddenly, a response appeared on Furan's screen, startling him. He tried asking again and again, but the system's only response was "hello" and "host."

"Hello system, can you hear me?... How can you level up on your own?...hello, do you understand me?"

>"Host…hello…" Reviving Host.

"This place again… what is this… I thought I was decapitated from behind…" Furan's passive ability showed him a vision of the future, so he felt as though he'd been beheaded again.

>"Host is in danger, please duck immediately."

Furan quickly responded to the system warning, this time hearing the warning directly in his mind. As he ducked, Furan saw another glimpse of the future, where he'd died while ducking. A sword struck vertically from his neck down to his chest.

>Host is in danger…

Suddenly, his future vision ended, and he found himself back in the galaxy-like void.

"It seems like I'll keep dying and reviving… and dying… and again…" Furan felt a mix of frustration and sadness as this cycle repeated endlessly.

System leveling up^^^... success… System level 4.

System successfully reached level 4. Host will receive high-level rewards.

-Congratulations, Host receives Luck Points +10 >>> (70/100).

-Congratulations, Host gains a limitless storage space.

"What's the point of storage and luck if I'm just going to die again as soon as I revive?" Furan wondered aloud.

>The system detects that Host lacks the skills to survive in this world, forcing another system upgrade.

The system analyzed why the Host continued to die despite having a skill to detect dangerous attacks and a future vision skill that should anticipate threats. These abilities were meant to be extremely powerful.

The system detected that the world LANDIA posed an extremely high level of danger, prompting another upgrade to level 5. Unbeknownst to the system, the Host's Luck status was exceptionally high.

Upgrading system… Level 4>>> System Level 5.

The system upgrade to level 5 succeeded.

Host receives the innate talent Eternal Rebirth.

Host is awarded one million gold coins (automatically stored).

Reviving Host.
