"Analyze their ranking quickly," Furan commanded the system.
"Host, there are 124 people in this room. The guards only have a rank of D, with the highest being C. However, Host must be cautious of the family head and the two individuals beside him; they possess extremely high levels."
Around 100 people in the room glared at Furan with anger, but Furan was unfazed. After evaluating the guards' levels, he grew more confident and took a bold step forward. Thirty individuals charged at him simultaneously, swinging their swords. Furan swiftly closed the distance to one of them and delivered a powerful punch to the chest, sending the individual flying backward, causing severe injuries to those behind him.
"Wush…Duargg…!!!!"
The impact of Furan's punch was so intense it created a small supernova effect. Those behind the target were hit as if a missile had struck them barehanded, rendering the squad unable to rise again. The remaining guards were terrified by the sight of their comrades being defeated with a single punch, but despite their fear of Furan, they feared their leader even more. They resolved to give it their all, even knowing they would lose.
Furan unleashed a flurry of attacks in all directions, moving with speed and precision. Even the swords that clashed with his punches shattered into pieces. Before he knew it, nearly 100 people lay on the floor, some embedded in the walls, and others stuck in the ceiling.
"DarkKiller squad, appear and kill that man!" shouted the family head.
Suddenly, eleven individuals in all-black attire appeared, each wielding two daggers. They moved so fast that even Furan could barely track them. Their movements resembled the wind—unseen but palpable.
"System, why are they moving so quickly? Analyze them for me. I can't read their stats because they're moving too fast."
"Understood, Host. Please give me a moment."
"Don't take too long. These people are far from normal," Furan replied.
The shadows kept advancing toward Furan and then retreating again. Furan, seeing a shadow approach, tried to deflect it with his hand, only to realize he was striking empty air—their speed was incredible. The DarkKiller squad continued to close in and then retreat to their positions repeatedly.
"What are they doing? Why are they approaching and then withdrawing?"
The squad's behavior began to seem odd, as if they were exhausted, but they kept repeating their movements. Furan, confused, punched the ground hard in front of him, creating tremors like an earthquake. The floor where the squad was standing crumbled, forcing them to scatter rapidly.
"Analysis complete, Host. They possess exceptional speed but have very low defense and attack stats. Their focus is solely on agility."
"They all have an A rank, but all their points are allocated to speed… Their average agility stat is 398. I don't know how they achieved this, but it shouldn't be possible unless they have a system like mine. ^_^"
"So, what have they been doing all this time, approaching and retreating? Were they attacking me?" Furan asked the system.
"Yes, Host, they've been attacking continuously. However, because your defense is extremely high, you haven't been injured at all."
It turned out that the DarkKiller squad had been launching relentless combos, coordinated attacks only they could perform as a unit of eleven. Yet, Furan's formidable defense rendered their efforts futile, regardless of their extraordinary speed.
The DarkKiller squad was created to kill swiftly. They were the result of illegal experiments conducted by the Wichard family, who kidnapped or bought children from black markets for testing. Once gathered, the children were subjected to experiments and injected with a serum that permanently allocated all their stats to a single attribute. Of the thousands of children used in these experiments, only 27 survived, with their stats distributed randomly: 11 had agility, 9 had strength, and 7 had endurance.
The surviving children were placed in a forest and ordered to kill each other. They hunted regular monsters to level up and improve their stats. Over time, the children formed three factions based on their attributes.
The agility group hunted much faster than the other two groups. As the strength and endurance groups tried to level up, the agility group would ambush and kill them before they could finish their hunts. The agility faction dominated the selection process.
The agility children leveled up quickly, significantly boosting their stats. The endurance group became easy prey because they leveled up slowly, while the strength group's limited speed and weak defense left them vulnerable. Even immense strength is useless if it cannot hit its target. As a result, only the agility group remained after the selection.
Upon learning the secret of the DarkKiller squad, Furan devised a strategy to attack from a distance using shockwave effects. Sure enough, when Furan attacked the squad, their exhaustion and inability to sense incoming attacks made them easy targets, and they were swiftly defeated.
"Unbelievable… My family humiliated like this… It's time for you two to act. Make that boy kneel. Break his legs and arms," the family head ordered furiously.
"Understood, sir. We'll make him kneel," the two individuals responded in unison.
The first person dashed forward and launched an aerial kick. Furan blocked it with both hands but felt his arms go numb from the impact. Suddenly, a second attack struck his stomach hard from behind the first attacker. It was a surprise attack from the second individual, causing Furan to stumble backward. Yet another attack came rapidly.
"Slashhh"
Emberstorm Slash
A blade of energy made of wind and fire struck Furan's shoulder, severing both his arms and leaving them to fall to the ground.
"Arrggghhh!" Furan screamed in pain as the stumps of his arms throbbed with intense agony.
"System, analyze their power. How can they penetrate my defenses so easily?" Furan tried to stay calm and used his God's Eye skill to check their stats.
"Understood, Host. Analysis complete. Displaying simplified stats for quick reference."
