Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Those Two Are A Comedy Show

"Let's go home, let me continue eating my delicious goodies," Chris said, smiling.

Mike chuckled. "Finally, some peace."

Alexander nodded. "Time to unwind."

Mike and Tom agreed, eager to shed the tension.

The group headed home, leaving the warehouse and its troubles behind.

At Chris's place, the aroma of his unfinished meal welcomed them.

"Ah, salvation," Chris joked, digging in.

Laughter filled the room as they relaxed.

"So we will stand and watch you finish this whole food?" Mike asked, glaring at Chris with his arms folded like a big brother.

Chris's handsome, cute face glared back at Mike. "If you want to eat, go and cook!" He pointed towards the kitchen.

Mike glared at Chris, then turned to wash his hands before entering the kitchen to cook. "Don't beg me so that you can taste my cooking later."

Chris's eyes widened in realization. "Wait!" he screamed, rushing into the kitchen. "I'll help you cook so I can eat that food of yours!"

Everyone burst out laughing.

Mike chuckled, "You want to help now?"

Chris nodded vigorously. "Yes, I don't want to miss out on your amazing cooking!"

Alexander, Romeo, and Tom laughed, enjoying the exchange.

As Chris and Mike cooked together, their banter continued.

Tom, still chuckling, shook his head. "Those two are a comedy show."

Alexander grinned. "Mike's cooking is worth begging for."

Romeo smiled, his eyes crinkling. "Chris knows a good thing."

In the kitchen, Chris and Mike worked in harmony, their banter replaced by efficient teamwork.

Mike handed Chris a chopping board. "Chop those veggies."

Chris obeyed, his chopping skills impressive.

Tom called out, "Hey, Chris, you're actually helpful!"

Chris threw a tomato slice at Tom, laughing.

Mike intervened, "No food fights!"

The kitchen filled with laughter and savory aromas.

Mike emerged from the kitchen, a triumphant grin on his face. "Food's ready!"

Chris's eyes widened as Mike presented a mouth-watering feast: juicy burgers, crispy fries, and fluffy rice.

Romeo whistled. "Mike, you're a culinary genius!"

Alexander and Tom cheered, grabbing plates.

Chris's eyes sparkled. "I helped, don't forget!"

Mike chuckled. "Yeah, by taste-testing."

The group dug in, savoring the flavors.

Tom nodded. "This is the life."

Alexander agreed. "Good food, good company."

Romeo smiled, rare and genuine.

Chris grinned at Mike. "You're not bad for a cook."

Mike smirked. "And you're not bad for a taste-tester."

Laughter filled the room, camaraderie warming their hearts.

....

Early in the morning,

The sunlight peeked through the blinds, casting a warm glow on my room. I slowly opened my eyes, feeling the weight of the bed. My mind was foggy, and my body heavy.

Hmm... I woke up feeling down and unhappy.

I stood up, my feet dragging across the floor. I walked around my room, trying to shake off the gloom. The silence was deafening, and I felt lost.

I walked towards my window, looking out at the view. Today was Saturday – no school, no rush, no deadlines.

But instead of feeling relieved, I felt empty.

The city outside was slowly coming to life. Cars hummed in the distance, and birds chirped their morning songs. Yet, I felt disconnected.

My phone buzzed,

"Hello?" I answered calmly.

"What's up?" Emilia's cheerful voice echoed through the line.

I smiled, feeling a slight lift in my mood. "Cool, just feeling a bit down, that's all."

Emilia's tone turned sympathetic. "Aww, sorry to hear that. Can we hang out together? Do you have something going on? We should come to your house later."

I thought for a moment, then shrugged, even though she couldn't see me. "I have nothing going on. You guys can come. Let's hang out."

Emilia's excitement was palpable. "Okay, I'll gather the crew! See you soon!"

I chuckled, already feeling better. "Sounds good."

As I hung up, my gaze drifted to the window. The day suddenly seemed brighter.

"Alright," I muttered to myself, "time to shake off this gloom."

I hung up the phone, feeling a sudden lift in my mood. Emilia's suggestion had turned my dull morning into a promising day.

I sprang into action, tidying up my room and making a mental note to clean the living room. I wanted everything to be perfect for our impromptu gathering.

As I worked, my excitement grew. Hanging out with Emilia always guaranteed laughter and good conversation.

I walked downstairs, the aroma of freshly scrambled eggs and toast filling my senses. My mum was spreading breakfast on the table, while Daddy sat on the couch, engrossed in his newspaper.

"Good morning, Dad," I said, dropping a kiss on his cheek.

Dad looked up from his newspaper, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Morning, kiddo! How's your day looking?"

"Good morning, Mum," I continued, hugging her warmly

"Good morning, sweetie!" Mum replied, giving me a warm smile as she placed a plate of scrambled eggs and toast in front of me.

I took a seat next to the plate, inhaling the savory aroma of breakfast. "It's looking good, Dad. Emilia and friends are coming over later."

Mum's eyes sparkled. "Oh, that sounds lovely! What are you guys planning?"

I shrugged, digging into my eggs. "Just hanging out, watching movies, maybe playing some games."

Dad nodded, returning to his newspaper. "Sounds like a relaxing day. Make sure to clean up before they arrive, okay?"

Mum chimed in, "And don't forget to offer them some snacks! I can make some cookies or—"

"I'll take care of it, Mum," I assured her with a grin.

Just then, my phone buzzed on the table. Emilia's text flashed on the screen: "Hey, we're on our way! See you soon!"

"Awesome! Can't wait to see you guys!" I typed quickly, sending the text.

"Dad, what's your plan for today?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.

Dad folded his newspaper, setting it aside. "I've got a meeting at our work place, then maybe some golf with friends later. How about you, aside from hosting your friends?"

"Mum, need some help with those cookies?" I offered, getting up from the table.

Mum smiled. "That's sweet of you! Let's get baking. We can make some chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin."

We spent the next hour whipping up a batch of delicious cookies, filling the kitchen with the warm aroma of freshly baked treats.

As we finished, the doorbell rang. "That must be Emilia and the sofia!" Mum exclaimed.

I wiped my hands on a towel and headed to the door. "I'll get it!"

I opened the door to find Emilia and Sofia standing on the porch, bright smiles on their faces.

"Hey, guys!" I exclaimed, stepping aside to let them in.

Emilia held up a bag. "We brought some movies and snacks to add to the party."

Sofia chimed in, "And we're starving! Your mom's cookies better be ready."

I chuckled, knowing Mum had just baked a fresh batch.

Mum called out from the kitchen, "Cookies are ready, girls! Come grab some."

As Emilia and Sofia made their way to the kitchen, I joined them, excited for our hangout.

The kitchen was filled with the warm aroma of freshly baked cookies. Mum handed each of us a plate with a selection of treats.
