Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: When he becomes a full man

Mr. Smith's face turned a deep shade of blue as he struggled to contain his rage. His eyes bulged with fury, and his voice trembled with anger. "How dare you!" he thundered, his cane shaking in his hand. "You ungrateful, insolent child! You think you can just dismiss our family's traditions and plans for your future?"

Romeo stood tall, his eyes flashing with defiance. "I'm not a child, Father," he said, his voice steady and calm. "I'm old enough to make my own decisions, and I won't be forced into a marriage I don't want."

Mr. Smith's face turned an even deeper shade of blue, and he looked like he was about to explode. "You'll do as you're told, Romeo!" he bellowed. "You'll marry Priscilla Stone, and you'll do it with a smile on your face! Do I make myself clear?"

Mrs. Smith stepped forward, her eyes blazing with anger as she confronted her husband. "How dare you!" she exclaimed, her voice sharp and authoritative. "Don't you ever raise your voice to our son like that again!"

Mr. Smith's face turned red with anger, but Mrs. Smith stood her ground, her eyes flashing with warning. "You will not bully our son, Edward," she said, her voice firm and commanding. "Romeo is a good boy, and he deserves our love and respect, not our anger and cruelty."

Romeo watched in surprise as his mother stood up to his father, her bravery and strength inspiring him. He felt a surge of gratitude towards her, and he knew that he could always count on her to protect him.

She held Romeo's hand, glaring at her husband with a fierce determination in her eyes. She turned and began to walk towards the stairs, her heels clicking on the marble floor.

Romeo walked beside her, feeling a sense of comfort and security with his mother by his side. He glanced back at his father, who was still standing in the foyer, his face twisted with anger and jealousy.

A slight smile appeared on Romeo's lips as he met his father's gaze. It was a subtle challenge, a silent defiance that seemed to enrage his father even further.

Mr. Smith's face turned black with rage, his eyes bulging with fury. He took a step forward, his fists clenched at his sides, but Romeo's mother didn't flinch. She kept walking, her head held high, with Romeo by her side.

The mother and son walk in to Romeo's room.

Are you ok son?" she asked.

Romeo nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over him now that he was safely in his room with his mother. "I'm fine, Mother," he said, his voice calm and even.

Mrs. Smith looked at him with concern, her eyes scanning his face for any signs of distress. "Are you sure, sweetie?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle. "Your father can be very...overwhelming sometimes."

Romeo shrugged, feeling a sense of detachment from the argument that had just occurred. "I'm used to it, Mother," he said, his voice matter-of-fact. "I can handle him."

She looked at his sapphire eyes, her own eyes filled with a deep concern and love. "Don't be too cold towards your dad, Romeo," she said, her voice soft and gentle. "We all love you, son. Please find a place in your heart to forgive your dad's actions."

Romeo's eyes met his mother's, and for a moment, he felt a pang of emotion. His mother's words struck a chord within him, and he felt a slight crack in the icy facade he had built around himself.

He looked away, trying to compose himself, but his mother's words lingered in his mind. He knew she was right - he had been cold towards his father for a long time, and it was eating away at him.

Romeo took a deep breath and looked back at his mother. "I'll try, Mother," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'll try to forgive him."

She smiled and looked at her son's stunning appearance, her eyes filled with pride and love. She kissed his cheek, her lips gentle against his skin. "Shower and get some rest, Romy darling," she said, her voice soft and soothing. "Let me go bring some food for you."

Romeo's cheeks flushed slightly as his mother kissed him, but he couldn't help but smile at her affectionate gesture. He nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. "Okay, Mother," he said, his voice softening.

His mother smiled again and turned to leave, but not before casting a loving glance at her son. "I'll be right back with some food," she said. "Try to rest, okay?"

Romeo nodded and watched as his mother left the room, feeling a sense of gratitude towards her. He took a deep breath and began to make his way to the bathroom, his muscles aching for a warm shower.

As he stepped into the bathroom, the bright lights illuminated his chiseled features, making him look like a god. His piercing sapphire blue eyes sparkled like diamonds, and his raven-black hair fell perfectly across his forehead. His sharp jawline and full lips made him look like a model, and his broad shoulders and muscular physique only added to his stunning appearance.

He caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror and raised an eyebrow, his eyes crinkling at the corners. He looked like he had just stepped out of a fashion magazine, and he knew it. He flashed a brief, charming smile at his reflection before turning away to start the shower.

As he walked out of the bathroom, the towel wrapped loosely around his waist, he looked like a Greek god, fresh from the shower. His hair was damp and messy, and his skin glistened with droplets of water. His sapphire eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief, and his lips curled into a lazy smile.

He strode confidently across the room, his towel-clad hips swaying slightly with each step. His broad shoulders and muscular chest were on full display, and his toned abs rippled beneath his skin as he moved.

Romeo was completely unaware of the stunning picture he presented, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction and contentment as he made his way to the bed.

A call flashed on his phone, and he checked the caller ID. Natasha. Her name on the screen brought a mix of emotions, and Romeo's eyes lingered on the phone for a moment before he decided to answer it.
