Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Trouble Finds Us

I drifted off to sleep, exhausted from crying. Hours passed, and the sun dipped below the horizon.

I woke up to darkness, my room illuminated only by the soft glow of her nightlight.

The clock read 11:47 PM.

I rubbed my eyes, feeling groggy.

my mom had left a note on my bedside table: "Dad's home safe. Sleep tight, sweetie."

I smiled weakly, relieved.

As i sat up, my thoughts returned to Romeo and Priscilla.

I shook her head, pushing aside the painful memories.

Not tonight.

i swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood up.

I padded softly to the kitchen to grab a glass of water.

The house was quiet, except for the faint hum of the refrigerator.

In the quiet night, a group of boys lounged against the wall, their faces illuminated only by the faint moonlight.

"Hey, which people are we going to kill tonight?" Cold Danger, Alexander, asked coolly.

Chris frowned, thinking about his unfinished dishes. "Why did you bring us out at this time of night, Romeo?"

Romeo, leaning against the wall, his eyes fixed on some distant point, replied, "We need to take care of something."

Mike, always eager for action, grinned. "What's the plan?"

Tom, however, looked uneasy. "Romeo, are you sure this is necessary?"

Romeo's gaze snapped back to his friends, his eyes glinting in the dark. "You question my judgment?"

The group fell silent, sensing the danger lurking beneath Romeo's calm surface.

Romeo walked towards their luxurious car, parked in the darkness.

"Let's go," he said, his voice low and commanding.

Alexander, Chris, Mike, and Tom followed, curiosity etched on their faces.

Chris spoke up, "Romeo, what's going on? You're not telling us something."

Romeo's gaze remained fixed on the road ahead.

"Later," he replied, his voice mysterious.

The others exchanged uneasy glances, sensing something was off.

As they drove through the night, the city lights blurring together, tension filled the air.

Romeo navigated the dark streets, his eyes fixed on the GPS.

"Where are we headed?" Alexander asked, breaking the silence.

Romeo's jaw clenched. "To settle a score."

The others exchanged uneasy glances.

Chris spoke up, "Romeo, what's going on? You've been acting strange all day."

Romeo's voice was low and menacing. "Those guys who tried to hurt Selina... I found them."

Tom's eyes widened. "You mean the ones from the other day?"

Romeo nodded, his face set in a determined expression.

Mike growled, "Let's teach them a lesson."

The car fell silent, the only sound the hum of the engine.

As they arrived at a rundown warehouse on the outskirts of town, Romeo's eyes narrowed.

"This is the place."

The others followed Romeo out of the car, their faces set with determination.

Romeo led the group into the abandoned warehouse, their footsteps echoing off the walls.

The air was thick with tension as they approached a group of rough-looking men huddled in the corner.

Romeo's eyes locked onto the leader, a burly man with a scar above his left eyebrow.

"You're the ones who tried to hurt Selina," Romeo stated, his voice cold and deadly.

The men exchanged nervous glances, sensing danger.

Scarface sneered. "Oh, you mean that pretty little thing? She ask for it."

Romeo's face darkened. "You're going to regret saying that."

With a nod, Romeo's friends moved forward, surrounding the men.

Alexander cracked his knuckles. "Time to teach you a lesson."

Mike and Tom pinned two of the men against the wall, while Chris stood guard.

Romeo approached Scarface, his eyes blazing with fury.

"You're going to apologize to Selina," Romeo demanded.

Scarface spat at Romeo's feet. "Never."

Romeo's fist clenched, ready to strike.

Scarface's words dripped with malice. "She upset our lady, and she deserves to be taught a lesson. But she's lucky you saved her that day."

Romeo's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. "You're talking about Priscilla, aren't you?"

Scarface's grin twisted. "You know who I mean."

Romeo's fist connected with Scarface's jaw, sending him crashing to the ground.

"You dare to mention her name in the same breath as Selina?" Romeo growled.

Alexander, Mike, and Tom pinned the other men against the wall, silencing their snickers.

Chris stood guard, watching for any signs of backup.

Scarface struggled to stand, wiping blood from his mouth.

Romeo loomed over him. "You'll pay for what you did. And for what you thought about doing."

Romeo's eyes blazed with fury as he delivered a series of swift punches, each one aimed at Scarface's face.

Scarface stumbled, crashing into crates and boxes, but Romeo relentless.

Alexander, Mike, and Tom held the other men at bay, ensuring they couldn't intervene.

Chris watched anxiously, worried about Romeo's escalating anger.

Scarface begged for mercy, but Romeo's expression remained unyielding.

Finally, Scarface slumped to the ground, defeated.

Romeo stood over him, chest heaving. "You'll never touch Selina again."

As they left the warehouse, Chris approached Romeo.

"Romeo, maybe you should calm down. You're taking this too far."

Romeo's gaze turned icy. "You don't understand, Chris. No one touches Selina."

As Romeo and his friends walked away from the warehouse, Scarface's men, still loyal to their leader, couldn't help but taunt them.

"Hey, think you're tough? You barsterd, think you can take down the boss?" one of them shouted.

Romeo's group stopped and turned around.

Another man stepped forward, sneering. "You may have taken down Scarface, but you'll never take us all down."

The men formed a semi-circle, blocking Romeo's path.

Alexander stepped forward, eyes flashing. "Want to try us?"

Mike and Tom cracked their knuckles, ready for a fight.

Chris stood guard, watching for any surprise attacks.

Romeo's gaze swept the group, his expression cold. "You want to avenge your leader? Bring it on."

The men charged, but Romeo's group was ready. Fists flew, and the sound of grunts and punches filled the air.

Alexander took down two men with swift kicks, while Mike and Tom delivered a barrage of punches.

Chris watched the perimeter, ensuring no one escaped, licking sweet and checking the time.

Romeo targeted the mouthiest one, his fists connecting with precision.

The man stumbled back, clutching his jaw.

"You should've kept quiet," Romeo said, his eyes blazing.

In minutes, Scarface's men lay defeated, some unconscious, others nursing injuries.

Romeo's group stood victorious, their chests heaving.

Alexander nodded at Romeo. "You good?"

Romeo nodded, his expression still dark. "Let's go."

As they walked away, Chris spoke up. "Romeo, maybe we should calm down. We don't want more trouble."

Romeo's gaze didn't waver. "Trouble finds us, Chris. We need to be ready."

Suddenly, Romeo's phone buzzed.
