Chapter 7 - Chapter - 6 : The beginning after an end

I'm Hitoru, seventeen years old, living like a king in high school. I've got it all: a beautiful girlfriend (though she doesn't let me get too close), a few lackeys who kiss up to me, and I don't hesitate to beat up anyone who annoys me. Lucky for me, my father's the headmaster, so I always get away with it. Life was perfect—until the night I hit a man while driving my father's car in secret. That's when everything changed.

Instead of facing any consequences, I somehow became the master of a world. The system welcomed me, and it felt like stepping into a dream. With each step, the system upgraded—from System 0 to System 1, and now, System 2. I crafted a fantasy world to my liking, even buying gods from the system store with divine power as currency. Three gods, each lucky enough to find apostles and build massive armies, became my loyal servants. I'd heard it was difficult to find apostles, but my world was thriving. I could roam my domain as a mortal, but with one big risk: if my mortal form dies, so does my entire world.

I'd already conquered the worlds around me with my apostles' help, and now, my sights were set on a new one. I expected an exciting fight, maybe even the chance to unleash my newly acquired divine beast. But this world was surprisingly weak, perhaps even masterless. Usually, a battle could end by killing the world's master, but no such alert came. The world felt hollow, lacking substance. It should have been easy fun—until I noticed something disturbing in my personal space.

There was a crack.

[System Alert!!!]

[System Alert!!!]

[System Alert!!!]

[Security breach: Invaders entering master domain]

[Resolving issue...]

[System Alert!!!]

[Solution not found]

My personal space was supposed to be impenetrable. Not even my gods could enter without my permission. But right before me stood two strangers: a young man with an unreadable expression and an impeccably dressed older man, like a butler. My blood boiled. This was my domain—no one should be able to stand here, let alone survive.

I glared, focusing my system's commands.

[System Command: Eliminate intruders]

Nothing happened.

I tried again, frustration rising.

[System Alert: Intruders unaffected by current parameters]

[Please select alternative options.]

Alternative options? This was my world! Furious, I raised my hand, intending to erase them from existence.

[System Command: Forcefully eject intruders]

[System Alert: Command failed. Intruders resistant to domain protocols]

The younger man looked around, almost amused, and took a step forward, entirely unfazed.

"Who are you? How dare you invade my space!" I shouted.

He replied calmly, "We don't need 'daring' to get here—a little force was all it took."

"What? You forced your way in? No, that's impossible! I'm invincible here. How is that possible?" I stammered, starting to panic. "System, eliminate these intruders immediately!"

[Initiating extermination of target…]

[Task failed due to unknown error]

"Stupid system, do something now!" I yelled.

The young man sighed, his voice laced with a faint edge of pity. "Your struggle is getting pathetic. Let me end it for you."

With an almost casual motion, he grabbed me by the neck, lifting me effortlessly. His hand began to glow as I choked out pleas.

"Please, let me live. I'll give you my apostles and all my relics! Please!"

He seemed to remember something, then muttered, "I think I should kill you in your mortal form."

The background blurred, moving at an impossible speed until I was suddenly on my own planet energy surged from his hand, an overwhelming torrent that left me unable to resist turning me to dust.

In the middle of the ongoing war, where defenders fought with their hearts and souls, a wave of despair swept over the ranks. Even the gods watched in horror as their followers fell in droves, helpless against the onslaught. Then, a notification appeared:

[The invasion has come to an end]

[The opposing master has been eliminated]

[You have obtained the divine relics of the defeated world master]

The gods, amazed, turned to the battlefield. They watched as every enemy soldier—alive or dead—began to disintegrate, their armor and weapons vanishing alongside them. Overcome by gratitude, the soldiers began praising their gods, though the gods themselves were too stunned to respond.

The world where Zephry now stood had been completely obliterated, reduced to nothing but dust.

[You have killed a world master]

[You have become a world master now]

[Scanning your status…]

[Recalculating…]

"It seems the system is confused," said Clark, his butler. "Your innate power and divine power are close in form but still fundamentally different."

"Then I'll try converting some to divine power," Zephry replied.

A soft glow surrounded him, and his divine power rose.

[Divine Power: 9,999,999,999]

"That should be enough for now," he remarked.

[Do you want to manifest a system assistant?]

"Can I really do that?" Zephry asked.

[Yes. The system can take any form you wish to assist you.]

Zephry glanced at Clark. "Let's combine with Clark."

[Invalid request]

"As you wish, Master," said Clark, touching the system screen in front of Zephry.

The two began to merge in a dramatic display of light, energy rippling around them, shifting in colors that danced like a cosmic storm. Silence fell.

"Clark, are you still there?" Zephry asked, a note of anticipation in his voice.

[Yes, Master,] the system responded, displaying a screen in front of him.

Zephry smiled, though slightly unnerved. "Alright, that's a bit creepy. Just talk."

"Certainly, Master," came Clark's familiar voice.

"So, what should we do first?"

"Let's start by choosing a new planet, Master."

"Then let's begin right away."
