*Chapter 3: Collision Course*
Emily couldn't shake off the feeling that Axel's words had left her with. No one had ever looked at her with such intensity, such genuine interest.
As she walked home, Emily's mind wandered back to their conversation. What did Axel mean by "watching" her? And why did she feel drawn to him despite his troubled reputation?
The next day, Emily's debate team practiced in the school auditorium. Axel strolled in, his motorcycle jacket slung over his shoulder, and claimed the seat next to her.
"Hey, Perfect Girl," he whispered, his breath tickling her ear.
Emily's cheeks flushed. "What are you doing here?"
Axel grinned. "Thought I'd learn something new."
Throughout the practice, Axel's presence distracted Emily. She stumbled over her words and forgot her arguments.
After practice, Axel offered Emily a ride home on his motorcycle. Emily hesitated, knowing her parents would disapprove.
"I'll be fine, thanks," Emily said, gathering her belongings.
Axel's eyes narrowed. "Come on, Emily. Live a little."
Emily's heart skipped a beat. No one had ever challenged her like that before.
"Okay," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
As they sped through the streets, Emily's hair flew back, and her laughter mingled with Axel's.
For the first time, Emily felt alive.
