Chapter 12 - 9 years have passed

My sob turned into tears. And bit by bit, I melted away in her hug.

I played the weak card again and was about to leave Arina. Because I was weak and helpless, I decided to leave Arina to her own pity. I given up while Arina fought with all her might.

'I am such a pathetic person...'

At the sound of footsteps, Arina huddled up in fear and gasped for breath.

"Lady Arina, Lady Arina, where are you?"

Arina poked her head out from behind the tree, and I watched from behind the tree with her.

Mr. Manson, along with the mansion guards, approached us with lanterns in their hands.

Arina painfully rose from the ground and limped towards them. I was so happy I didn't know what to say. I just held onto Arina's clothes and stared at Manson and his guards running towards us. We were saved, and had passed that long night.

One of the guards picked us up and carried us all the way to the mansion.

I won't even tell you how much Mom hugged us and cried. Or Aldous, who stared at us with red eyes, so obviouse of how much he cried for us.

After all that happened, Manson apologized so much and even wanted to pay for my and Arina's treatment, which was met with Mom's disapproval. During that time, I couldn't ignore the sad look in the princess eyes. It was like she felt sorry for us. But she didn't come forward and ask how we were.

The kidnappers were never caught, as if they never existed in the first place. I really wanted to know how that black-clad man knew me, but they all disappeared without a trace.

Apparently, Aldous was the first to notice that we were gone, and the light emanating from Arina revealed our location to Manson and his people.

I don't know what the hell is a pure one, and everyone was stunned when they realized what Arina was, treating her like a god.

And at the end, Arina with her broken leg and me with my injured hand returned to our home. After that incident, I learned new things and became more worried than ever about the future that lay ahead for me and Arina.

'Does is it mean that I can prevent another tragic ending this time?'

A sunny morning had just begun.

The sky was empty of clouds, with the sun right in the middle, casting its light on all creatures. The sparrows were singing and jumpping from branch to branch. In one of the alleys of the Satreza neighborhood, located in the land of Astraz, two young boogery boys were passing by...

"Ugh, fuck the school. I really don't feel like going and listening to the teacher's naggings this early in the morning."

"Yeah, me too, I don't want to see face of many students?"

"Ha ha, like who?"

"That green-eyed boy

who's always boasting. What was his name?"

"Aldos."

The first boy nodded in agreement and said with envy towards the second boy, "Yeah, that's him. What makes him think he's better than everyone else? This guy doesn't even have a proper family. He practically brings shame to our royal school."

"It's all because his sister is a magical goddess; otherwise, they would never have accepted him."

The first boy kicked a stone in front of him and said, "I heard that even though his sister being a magical goddess she didn't pass the Red-sun test."

"She's really stupid! If she had gone to the Magic Tower instead and took the knight exam, they would have accepted her."

The first boy smirked mischievously and whispered to the second boy, "Do you know one of the countless reasons she couldn't pass the Red-Sun test?"

"Oh boy, your question has made me badlly curious."

The first boy looked proudly at the second boy, "it was my Brother. At first glance, he could tell she wasn't cut out to be a knight. That's why he told my father that she wasn't qualified to be a knight "

"You have such a ruthless brother. It seems like she must have tried really hard for that exam."

"Nope, my brother isn't ruthless. He just knew that she had bit off more than she can chew ..."

And here I jumped down from the tree above. By putting my foot into the throat of the first boy, interrupted their bullshit conversation before it took up too much time for our dear viewers...

"who the hell are you?"

I glanced at the second boy who had taken a defensive stance...

"You two must chew your words better the next time before wanting to talk crap about my familly"

"Huh? Are you also part of the Bazz family? I don't remember them having such a pathetic girl among them."

I sighed with an Ohh sound... 'These idiots can't even remember my face even though we're classmates.'

With an incomprehensible voice coming from my underfeet, I lifted my foot off the first boy's throat.

" Where did this stupid girl come out? Truly your whole family is some sort of crazy."

Without any emotion in my gaze, I looked at them as if I had come here for no reason but to waste my time. However, I now know one of those responsible for Arina's rejection. As far as I knew, the first boy is from the Kars family whose father was in charge of the Red-Sun test. Without saying anything to them, I walked away and slung my backpack over my shoulder...

"Hey there you goose ! I want to settle things with you."

Disregarding them completely, I put my hand into my pocket and whistled...

"Cowardly fool!"

"Isn't your sister also just another cowardly fool like you?"

"Then she must have deserved being rejected."

Angrily chuckling, I stood up... "Seems like your butts are really itching for trouble."

Tossing my bag once more over my shoulder, I turned back towards them. Cracking each finger individually with relish and flashing a sardonic smile at their frightened faces... "Let's see how you plan on settling scores."

After a tiresome, one-sided fight, I whistled as I walked past their limp and numb bodies. I picked up my bag and headed towards the school. You might think that these two boys might do something terrible out of revenge. But I can sadly assure you that won't happen. Because they're not going to remember my face or figure at all.

'That's right! I'm still ignored by everyone, and no one can pay attention to me.'
