Diana rolled her eyes and snorted, as if she didn't like the teacher's answer.
"Well, let's get back to the main point..."
Rezita and I both went to our desks and sat down.
"We have a new friend and classmate joining us today."
All our eyes turned to the little boy standing next to the teacher. The smile on his lips, his blue eyes sparkling with joy, and his bright golden hair made him the sweetest boy I had ever seen. He looked like The Little Prince in the Book.
"Well, Nuka, everyone is waiting for you to introduce yourself."
"Hello everyone, I'm Nuka, and I just came to this school. I hope we have a good time together."
"Dear Nuka, you can sit wherever you please to."
Nuka walked slowly towards the back of the class, right where I was sitting. It wasn't long before the whispers started.
"Just Nuka? What does that mean? Does he not have a last name?"
"How is that possible? It's impossible that they would let a peasant into the royal school."
"Maybe the teacher forgot to say his last name..."
Nuka reached me and sat next to me. Now I could take a closer look at him. He was wearing a men's shirt with simple fabric trousers. He also had a gray French hat on his head, and there was no sign of jewelry or luxury. No matter how I looked at him, I saw that he didn't look like a noble. So he's probably a peasant.
"Well, kids, now open your books to page..."
I took a look around the class. The sharp and scary look on Nuka, who was just flipping through his book, was so heavy that even I was sweating. I looked at Nuka again.
'I better not get involved with him.'
"Okay kids, I want to take you back to the oldest of the old. A time when creation was just about to begin. About 10,000 years ago, when the only things that existed were light and darkness. A place where gods and demons were at war and in turmoil. This period is also known as the 'Chaos' period, and we owe the creation of this world to these battles. We have a war called the Last War. As the name suggests, this was the last time demons and gods fought each other directly. And this battle was so big and devastating that the entire universe melted..."
'Maybe my understanding of philosophy and logic is like an old algae, But even I realized that everything he's saying is bullshit.'
"...And that's how the world entered a great void. This void even drove demons, who were the essence of nothingness, to the brink of madness. This period is called the 'Silence' period. A period in which no word or action was exchanged. Many years passed until finally a representative of the gods and a representative of the demons agreed to cooperate and rebuild the universe..."
'Why does it sound like a children's storybook? Like a bunch of kids ruined their playground because they were fighting with each other and have to help each other to fix it.'
"During the creation of the world, due to the cooperation of gods and demons, beings were born that were neither white nor black. They were all gray..."
I raised my eyebrows in surprise.
'Hmmm... finally an interesting part.'
"And this gray world is our world. History starts here and continues until now..."
The rest of his speech didn't seem interesting or exciting anymore. He just listed the names of different gods and demons, the early families, and blah blah blah... which I'm sure I'll forget. Overall, there was one thing you could take from this world. That nothing makes sense. Maybe it's because I'm from a world where there's no magic or miracles. For a moment, I felt that the world I came from, in its simplicity, had complexities that this world doesn't have.
'Ugh! My brain is going to explode. Forget it. I'm not a thinker.'
Finally, the bell rang for break and class was over.
"Well, kids, for next session I'll be giving you a 20-question test that..."
Nobody was paying attention to the teacher's rambling and everyone was scattered.
"Diana, can you eat with me today?"
"Hmmm... I think I've already promised someone else..."
"Hey Rezita, have you been to that new fashion house? They say their Skirt & Jacket's are really beautiful."
"Heh heh! Hell no, they weren't that great In my opinion..."
As usual, I was ignored. You might think it's because I don't talk to them myself. But I should point out that in the early days of school I was always looking for a way to get the attention of the kids in the class. But they all ignore me, like members of my family(Except Aldos). It's like I don't exist and I'm a hologram trying to show that I'm real.
'Of course, I got used to this situation...'
I got up and shrugged.
'Well, what's for lunch today? I forgot. I think it's steak with_'
"Hey..."
I snapped out of my thoughts about lunch and looked behind me. Nuka was looking at me pitifully, clutching his history book toward himself
"Can I know your name?"
I glanced around. No one was left in the classroom, except for me and Nuka, everyone had rushed to the cafeteria like if they were starving for years.
'Well, I guess it's okay to talk to him.'
"Angela..."
"What's your last name?"
I looked at him poker-faced.
'He got comfortable so quickly...'
"I'm from the Bazz family."
Suddenly, his eyes lit up so much it was like they were connected to a 1000-volt wire.
"B_Bazz? The famous knight?"
"Yeah, but that was a long time ago_"
He grabbed my hand tightly and his smile stretched from ear to ear.
"So you're the daughter of Hookas bazz? I've heard many stories about him. Your father saved my parents. He was a true hero.
