Chapter 16 - a new student II

I glared at him, exasperated.

'I think talking to him wasn't a good idea.'

"By the way, Arina bazz your sister, am i right? They say she's one of the pures too, and that's really cool. Because only three people can be a part of the pures every 100 years."

He held my hand up and down in the air with both of his.

"I'm really happy to meet you, and I hope we have a great time together, my friend."

I forcibly pulled my hand out of his and stepped away from him.

'What? My friend? That's moving too fast, he practically jumped on a jet. How did he even notice my presence?'

I gave a nervous smile.

"Excuse me, but I have no interest in being friends with you. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to eat lunch."

I left the classroom. I went down the stairs and reached the minus 1 floor. Then I entered the cafeteria. But this guy wouldn't leave me alone will he? He was following me, chattering nonstop.

"...Your father died before you were born? That means you have no memories of him?..."

"...Your siblings both managed to unleash their inner magic before reaching the age of awakening? You're a genius like them, right?..."

"...By the way, that jacket looks great on you, always wear red..."

"...You know the story of this birthmark on my neck? One day_"

"Can you shut your mouth for one second?!"

My scream echoed through the whole hall, reverberating in my ears. I didn't want to be rude to him, but he left me no choice. My shout made him shrink into himself in fear. He looked around and replied in a quiet voice,

"How strange, nobody came towards us because of your shout."

I angrily pointed my index finger at his chest.

"Look, Mr. Nokia..."

"Nuka."

"It doesn't roll off my tongue right. Anyway, I don't like you hanging around me."

"Why?"

His innocent eyes made me forget all my reasons for a moment. Finally, I came to my senses.

"Because you're a peasant."

"Do you really hate peasants that much?"

He looked even more innocent. This time, he was staring at me like the Puss in boots, so much so that everything about him being a peasant vanished from my mind. I looked away so I wouldn't make eye contact with him anymore.

"Y_Yeah... a lot."

"Can't you even tolerate me for a lunch together?"

And then, I don't know what happened, but when I came to, I saw myself and Nuka sitting at a table.

"Hmmm, your cafeteria is so crowded. Do we have that many nobles in the empire?"

I stared at the silver plate in front of me. I was like a time bomb about to explode. Nuka took a spoonful and then took a bite of the bread in his hand.

"Wow, this mashed potato is the best of all the mashed potatoes I've ever had. You can clearly tell the royal chefs are top-notch."

I couldn't take it anymore. I slammed my hands on the table angrily and shouted,

"Why should this hellhole, supposedly royal, have mashed potatoes on the menu?"

"Mmmf, can't do anything about it, we arrived late and they're all gone. Otherwise, the main menu was steak," Nuka replied with his mouth full.

I put my head in my hands in frustration and stared at the yellow mashed potatoes. More than being upset about the crappy meal I got, I'm upset about the situation I'm in.

'Why did I so easily agreed to eat with him? And most importantly...'

"I don't like chives, do you want it? I'll give it to you."

'This guy has become so comfortable, he's about to say we're lost siblings.'

"No, I'm going to throw away mine ."

"Why? It's good for your health."

"Well, you swallow it, why are you telling me?"

even though I was trash talking to him, Nuka didn't get upset and continued eating.

"Forget all that, when are you inviting me to your house?"

"No way! Why are you getting all buddy-buddy with me?"

Ignoring my question, he laughed and continued,

"I really want to meet your family, Angela. All I've heard about them is from my parents or other people. And I want to experience those stories

firsthand."

I calmed down a little.

This time, I asked him gently and calmly,

"My father has been dead for a long time. And my sister isn't really interested in seeing strangers right now. Don't you think your intention to coming to the mansion is pointless?"

He smirked and replied,

"You know what my father always says? He says that a story doesn't have to be told by the person themselves or witnessed with your own eyes. Even a place or an object can tell someone's story. You just have to listen to their story,"

I don't know why everyone here enjoys saying these nonsense. Obviously, an inanimate object can't talk. Even someone as mindeless as me can understands that.

"Hey, Nuka..."

I flinched, turned towards them, startled. A large shadow of Whale fell on me. Rezita and her friends, or rather her minions, were standing above our table.

'Oh no, the worst possible scenario is going to happen.'

I quickly lowered my head and prayed that I would be ignored as usual.

"We want to have a little chat with you."

Nuka looked at her in surprise first, then smiled in response.

"Oh, Ms Tasmani! You are the daughter of the greatest designers of the Sun Red Questionnaires, right?"

Rezita's eyebrows shot up and she looked at him with a proud smile.

"Hmm hmm! You got it right. Of course, it's not very difficult to recognize someone as powerful as me."

'Good thing all her status and prestige are because of her daddy.'

Nuka, as always, smiled friendly and stared at Rezita with bright eyes.

"Wow! I'm really happy to meet you."

Rezita nodded in approval.

"Guys! Obviously, a peasant can't have such accurate information about a Nobel. So Noka must be a Nob_"

"But I am a peasant, Ms. Tasmanian!"
